Amaryllis... Not Just for the Holidays!

I just love it when you can use a stamp for multiple occasions don’t you?  I have a few birthday cards to make so I thought I would use the new “Amaryllis Bliss” stamp set and it’s coordinating dies today from Power Poppy.

I grabbed only a few Copic Markers and some Polychromos Pencils and colored in each of the triple cluster of blooms.

I first started with the dark red Amaryllis…

I created a very abstract back ground to put my blooms on with a few sequins and some gold thread.

Then I decided to color a pinky-plum colored one…

And I too made an abstract back ground to place it on with some sequins.

Christine Okken go here next!

I hope you too get a chance to create some thing fun and festive this weekend!  Happy creating!

Snowy Snouts

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you’re planning to do a little creating this weekend.  I’m going to sure try!

I thought I would make a card with fun feature on the front… a shaker!  My card features the Christmas Corgis and also Grandma’s Snowflakes.

This gate fold card is held closed with embedded magnets. It’s the one thing that I don’t like about gate folds – they like to flap open all the time.

Here’s the inside flap of my card…

Make sure you check out what my fellow talented Bloom Brigaders have created for you today…

I'm So Thankful

Howdy all!  TGIF!  I’ve been pumping our the cards this past week.  Lots of Christmas cards getting ready to go up for sale for my Scouts to go to Pacific Jamboree.

I took a break from doing holiday cards and I wanted to play along with Kathy’s “Power & Spark Challenge” for the month of November over at Power Poppy.  The month of November in the US is all about thanksgiving so our challenge is to create a Thanksgiving or Thank You card.  For further details, click here.

I knew I wanted to make a special card for one of my best friends.  She’s always thinking of me and so I thought I’d send her a little reminder of how thankful that she’s a part of my life.

I grabbed a variety of fun stamp sets to create a layered botanical array.  I included the new “Amaryllis Bliss”, “Cabbage and Kale”, “Fortunes of Fall” and some oldies but goodies, “Glistening Paperwhites” and “Succulent Singles”.  Yup… all five stamp sets!

I stamped out my images in Ranger Distress “Antique Linen” ink.  And got a pallet of Catherine Pooler Designs inks ready to use: Sugared Lavender, Royal Treatment, Green Tea, Eucalyptus, Skylight, Spruce, Juniper Mist and Icing on the Cake.

Here’s what my panel looked like after watercoloring the entire image.

Then I used my Polychromos Pencils to add some fine details and depth.
I love how it turned out.  I sure hope my friend likes it too!

Now, take a moment and check out these creations being shared today…

Introducing... Amaryllis Bliss

Howdy and welcome to final day of the Power PoppyHappiest Holiday 2018 release.

Today we introduce you to… Amaryllis Bliss

This stamp collection contains a trio of flowers begging to be colored in delicious reds, pinks, and whites — accented by your choice of greenery. Sprigs of fragrant cedar and jasmine would love to be tucked under the petals. A few Amaryllis leaves are included, too! It also contains three pretty sentiments sharing holiday peace.  This stamp set also has an accompanying set of dies too!

I chose to colour my Amaryllises in white.  I found this gorgeous inspirational photo of white blooms with delicate red edges so I though might add a bit of whimsy to my blooms.

Check out my inspiration…

Now, take a gander at my fellow Bloomies & their festive creations…

Today we introduce you to… Grandma’s Snowflakes

This is a snowflake set like no other - this one is all based on designs for vintage crocheted snowflakes, the ones like Marcella’s grandma (and so many others) used to make.

I decided to break out some fun patterned papers for today’s card.  And nothing says festive like green and red… okay, and a little pink!
