It’s Day 4 of our Power Poppy reveal for October and today we’re featuring another wonderful holiday stamp set called “Poinsettia”!
This stunning collection has two extremely detailed images for your Christmas cards plus four beautiful sentiments. This will be be a “must have” for all your holiday purchases this year indeed!
For my card, I chose to have some fun with kraft cardstock and white embossing powder. I first stamped the ornate poinsettia and boughs in the top left hand corner of a kraft card base. Then I stamped the same image twice more on to vellum and fussy cut only the poinsettia out.
I added a bit of color using Copic markers on the BACK side of the vellum as to ensure I didn’t wreck the tips of my markers. I used some 3D OLBA glue to stack and adhere my vellum layers.
Some cool white pen lines and dots, some score-line details and a gold embossed greeting finished off my card.
Thanks for joining us the past 4 days for our reveals. Check back tomorrow when the Bloom Brigade showcases all kinds of holiday beauties! But for now, check out what my fellow design team has done with the “Poinsettia” stamps for today…

Introducing… Frosted Gingerbread!
It's Day 3 and we’ve got another doozey for you from Power Poppy today!
This little beauty will be sure to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours. It’s called “Frosted Gingerbread” and it’s full of cute, non-sticky images and sweet messages for all those holiday cards!
So I began my card using some simple die cut layers. I stamped my adorable gingerbread house from the stamp set onto white cardstock and coloured it up using Copic Markers.
Then I carefully added some Liquid Applique to the snowy aspects of the house, let it dry and then applied some heat to make the solution puffy! I love the texture it leaves…
Thanks for stopping in! Take a moment and hop on to the visit the rest of the Bloom Brigade to take a peek at what they have all done with this super sweet stamp set...

Introducing… Joyful Arrangements!
Hello Power Poppy lovers! I’m so glad you’re here to share in Day 2 of our Power Poppy reveal for October.
For today, the Bloom Brigade is spreading tidings of good cheer using the new and FONTabulous stamp collection, “Joyful Arrangements”. This stamp set contains four amazing and cheerful sentiments fit for those handmade holiday cards. Each greeting is unique and brings together all kinds of cool holiday inspired fonts and holiday icons, like jingle bells, boughs of holly and twinkling stars.
Now, let's check out my card!
I really wanted a card that would be super easy to duplicate... you know an assembly line type card. Typically a card like this is simple, very few layers and not a lot of detail so this is what I came up with...
It's flat, easy to repeat and it fits in a regular envelope without extra postage! Hooray! I also had a ball colouring in all the cool fonts and the tiny bit of foliage in the banner.
Now join the remainder of the Bloom Brigade and find out what they created using all these glorious holiday greetings…

Introducing… Bottlebrush Holiday!
Today the Bloom Brigade is going into the crafty woodlot and creating with the fabulous new “Bottlebrush Holiday” stamp collection. This set just makes me giddy… there are so many cute images with the bottlebrushes PLUS there is a ton of great sentiments too! It’s a favourite for the holidays for sure!
For my card today, I knew I wanted to work with a non-traditional holiday colour scheme so I found this cute ornate swirly patterned paper from Authenique and it was red, cream, white and light blue in colour so that was my starting point.
I used some rich Memento “Rhubarb Stalk” ink to stamp the adorable “HO” images and then added some shading to the wreathes and the H’s using Copic Markers. A cute little light blue bow and my card was complete!
Now join the remainder of the Bloom Brigade with me and take a stroll on over to all of their blogs. I know you won’t regret it at all!

Cauliflower Anyone?
Yippee… it’s FRIDAY!!! Time for another chance to play along with the Power Poppy Bloom Brigade! Wanna be one of our Peep of the Week winners and get your Power Poppy creation showcased on the Power Poppy Blog? Click here to find out more about how to enter.
Today I want to share a fun layered beaut with ya’ll! I had a lot of fun fussy cutting out many, many layers of stamped pieces of this adorable little basket of cauliflower from the “Farmers Market” stamp collection.
I didn’t use a lot of Copic Markers to colour my image, just E81, E84, G24, G8 & R59. I used a bit of the patterned papers for my basket instead of colouring it in.
If you look closely, you can see that some parts of the image are higher than others – the leaves hanging over the basket are especially noticeable… I love fussy cutting!!
Now take a stroll and visit my fellow Bloom Brigaders with me and see what these amazingly talented ladies have come up with this week for you to check out!

No-Line Tutorial Using Watercolours
Join me today on the Power Poppy Blog for a step by step tutorial on how I created my card from Friday’s Peep of the Week post, here. I used the no-line technique for colouring my stamped image.
I had a ball colouring the beautiful “Geraniums Take Two” image using some lush new watercolor paints I just bought. I just couldn’t wait to use them and share my creation with you!
I hope you’ll stop by the blog and leave me a comment and tell me if you’ll give this technique a try soon! It's easier than it looks.
Happy stamping!!

Happy Pink Painted Geraniums
Howdy all! TGIF… I’m sure glad that it’s Friday! It’s already been a busy week with school starting up and again and trying to work on tutorials and projects – it seems like this week just flew by!
Typically Power Poppy would have already shown sneak peeks of the latest and greatest new release but this this month, we’re holding off so we can bring you an even BIGGER, more fabulous release. Trust me… you’ll wanna save some dough for this one!
Since it’s Friday, we have our newest Peep of the Week challenge on and all you have to do to participate is create and link up a project that contains a Power Poppy image of any kind! If you want some instant gratification, you can purchase some of our glorious digital stamps right here. Join us and you could win some more Power Poppy stamps to add to your stamp collection.
Lately I’ve been dabbling in some water colouring and I am really enjoying it. My Aunt is a water colour artist (or used to be) and I just loved all the cool effects she would get with this subtle, beautiful medium. So today, I’m sharing a simple water coloured card…
I used the delightful "Geraniums Take Two" stamp set for my card today. There is just something so happy about Geraniums! These remind me of the ones that my Mom has in her little deck garden at home in Ontario!
You can join me on Monday on the Power Poppy Blog and find out exactly how I achieved this colouring using water colours and maybe even give it a try yourself! It took a lot of patience but I just adore the end result.
Here’s a simple close up for you. You can kind of see the slight embossed details that frame out the Geraniums.
Come and check out what my fellow Bloom Brigaders have to share with you today…

Sew, Sew Cold!
I’m on a Christmas card kick… I know! It’s ONLY the first week of September and not even officially FALL yet but I was just dying to use some of the fun winter critter stamps that I just received in the mail.
Being Wednesday, it’s time for a new challenge over at StampNation. This week’s challenge is all about STITCHING! And if you know me, I LOVE stitching on my cards. I prefer machine stitching but I’m open to stitch stamps, hand penned stitching or even hand stitching too! For my card this week, I chose to incorporate some “fabric” stamps, some die cut stitching AND some hand stitching. Here’s a sneak peek for you…
Here's a little sneak peek of my fellow Dream Team creations for this week's challenge...
It’s also time for a new sketch challenge over at Splitcoaststampers today! And once again… I couldn’t resist those little wrapped up for winter critters for this week’s sketch creation…
Here’s the sketch I used for my card this week, SC504:
I took a little creative license on this one and swapped out the 5 little panels and used 5 characters on my card instead. I think it works? Don’t you?!?
I just adore the sweet little winter stamps by Purple Onion Designs. I knew I just had to have them for my very own!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll join us for BOTH challenges this week!
