Warm Winter Hugs

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's time for another fun Saturday Challenge over at Three Room Studio.

This week our challenge is to create a CAS style creation.

For my very, very simple card today I used the wonderful "Let's Hygge" stamp set. I stamped with a really light ink and then coloured up the image using Copic Markers and then added detail back in using Polychromos Pencils.

I hope you'll join us this week!

Now, check out my fellow Design Team members...

Now it's your turn!!  Check out all the details on the Three Room Studio Blog.

Good luck!

Pieces, Love & Joy!

Happy Thursday!  Today I wanted to share a fun card that I assembled using some fun pieces that I had left over from a few previous cards that I have made.

I don't know about you but when I take so much time to create a fun background piece and then die cut a piece of it out, I want to use that piece instead of throwing it out.

I had this beautiful blended die cut rectangle from yesterday's card, here, that I just couldn't bear to get rid of.  I used some petite stamps from "Just Soar" stamp set for this background. So today I grabbed a few left over embossed snowflakes from this card here using the "Scrolling Snowflakes" stamps & dies and created another festive card.

With these snowflakes and the rectangular scrap, I first inked up the fabulous "Plaid Background" stamp using the Sparkling Berry, Sangria and Glam inks.  Then I stamped a greeting from the elegant "Winter Blessing Sentiments" set in Glam ink and then embossed over it using WOW's Platinum Embossing Powder.  I die cut a white cardstock scalloped die from the "Scallops & Dots Dies" for under the rectangle and then assembled the card.

I love that all those pretty embossed snowflakes and that beautiful inky rectangle didn't go to waste!

How's your holiday card making going?  Are you ready to address them and send them out yet or are you still creating?  I'd love to know!

Don't Just Fly, SOAR!

The Black Friday SALE has begun over at Catherine Pooler Designs!  Wednesday 11/24 through Cyber Monday 11/29, select items will be up to 75% OFF!

One of the pretty stamp sets on sale this weekend is the "Just Soar" stamp set!  This stamp set has 3 beautiful solid butterfly images, a few flowers, a couple of script sentiments and some of the cutest little accent stamps!

I paired this stamp and coordinating die sets with the staple die set "Scallops & Dots Die" set and the luscious Sparkling Berry, Sangria and Glam inks.

I used some fun Silver Mirror Cardstock to die cut my frame and placed some Inspiration Point Sequins inside my shaker.  A little Halo Embossing powder over my Sparkling Berry butterfly was the final finishing touch!

The sale ends on Monday and somethings may sell out so take a moment and go check out everything in the Black Friday Sale tab today!

A Fishy Thank You & a Black Friday SALE!

Now, it's almost time for the Catherine Pooler Designs Black Friday SALE to begin!

Selected CP products will be on sale for up to 75% off!  YUP... somethings will be 75% off!  The sale starts TODAY at 12 noon EST.

One of my all-time favorite stamp sets release by Catherine this year is the "Koi Pond" stamp set.  PSSST... this stamp set will be ON SALE for Black Friday!  This stamp set was released as part of the amazing Club Canvo subscription (now discontinued).  This stamp set just captured my heart the minute I saw it.

To create this card, I stamped all my images from the stamp set using Midnight ink.  Then I masked off all the fish.  I used In The Park, Aquatini and the new Uptown ink to blend together over the entire image.  I love the look of these 3 colors together!  I stamped a few more bubbles in Aquatini ink too!

I used one of the sentiments from the fairly new "Thank You Many Ways" stamp set for m greeting.

I used some of the Champagne Gold & White Gold paints from the "Starry Colors" Gansi Tambi paint palette to add some splatter in addition to some water splatters too!

For a finishing touch, I adhered some Portsmouth Sequins down.

I hope you have a wonder Wednesday!  I hope enjoy the CP Black Friday shopping!

Safari Holiday Greetings

Happy Tuesday everyone!  My sister has two small boys and I'm always sending them packages in the mail.  Everyone loves happy mail!

Today I made two fun Safari tags to go on the next packages that I send out this week.  I started with tags die cut from the "Hearts-n-Tags Dies" and the "Notecard Frame & Tag Die" set. I inked them both up with Lime Rickey and Deck the Halls green inks. I then used Stickles "Moon Dust" Glitter Gel using the "Leopard Print Slimline Stencil".

I stamped the giraffe and zebra from the "Take a Peek" stamp set using Over Coffee and Midnight inks.  I used some Copic Markers to shade the images.

For their elf hats, I used the "Nice List" stamps and die set.

So I chose these two critters because of my fun Rhino scarf wrapped wrapping papers!  Aren't they fun!?!? My nephews are going to love them!

Now, it's almost time for the CP Black Friday SALE to begin!

Selected CP products will be on sale for up to 75% off!  YUP... somethings will be 75% off!  The sale starts Wednesday at 12 noon EST.

I hope you're having a great Tuesday!  I hope you're inspired to create today!

Glowing Snow Globes

Happy Monday!  Today Catherine and Erika from Catherine Pooler Designs were live on Facebook this morning.  They brought out this fun color combo based on the current Starbucks cups...

I was tinkering already with the "Snow Globe Die".  I had stamped the fun "Sweater Weather Background" stamp in Versamark ink and applied Halo embossing powder.  I used the 5 inks from the color palette to create the sky and snowflakes from the "Circle This" stamp set.  At the last moment, I decided to make it into an interactive card that lights up.

I used the "Woodgrain Background" stamp with Over Coffee ink to create the wood effect on the snow globe bottom.

I mapped my circuit on my card base and designed my battery holder.

I applied my negative and positive lines of Copper Tape and added my LED White Light Stickers.  The little white piece of cardstock acts like a bridge so the 2 lines of Copper Tape don't touch either but can cross each other.

Then I added a doubled-up layer of foam tape to create enough room for the little battery holder to slip in.

Here is the final card put together and activated.  I love the soft purple glow!

Now, it's almost time for the CP Black Friday SALE to begin!

Selected CP products will be on sale for up to 75% off!  YUP... somethings will be 75% off!  The sale starts Wednesday at 12 noon EST.

I hope you're having a great Monday!  I hope you're inspired to create today!

Craft Roulette #88 ~ Now Come & Play Along!

Well I had a BLAST last night crafting and chatting with Mary Gunn with Craft Roulette!

So when it was time to spin the wheel it threw me a few curve balls.  Here's what the parameters included:

  • Project:  Card with Patterned Papers
  • Colors: Cornucopia (colors you might find in a cornucopia)
  • Element: Starts with a "C"
  • Random: Retiform

Yup... so first, I had to ask Mary what retiform was!  LOL!  So when you Google it, it all makes sense... click here for a quick view!  Simple enough!

So we discussed the whole color scene from the "cornucopia" and decided that you could pretty much find EVERY color of the rainbow in it!  EASY!

Starts with a "C" - well since Christmas cards are my favorite, that was easy too!

So here's my final card...

So I used the adorable "Christmas ELFies" stamp set from My Favorite Things to color up and patterned papers from Catherine Pooler and Lawn Fawn for my retiform and voila!

I would LOVE it if you would come and play along this week!  I'm offering up a $25 gift certificate to Catherine Pooler Designs to one lucky winner who participates this week.  If we reach 100 entries for Episode #88, I will DOUBLE the prizes I'm offering to those who WIN! TWO $25 gift certificates!!!  All you have to do is participate to WIN!

You can still play along after the live with episode #88.  You have 48 hours from the time the show ends to submit your card.  Watch the YouTube Video HERE and play along. To submit your card, click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope to see your card in the Episode #88 gallery on Friday!

Heffy Doodle & Catherine Pooler Blog Hop ~ Comment to Win!

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler Designs Collaboration Blog Hop!
Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies!

I can't tell you how much I love to create interactive cards so when Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler decided to do a collab, I was SO super excited!

For my card share today, I created this fun Shadow Box card!

I began my card by die cutting two white cardstock card bases using the Heffy Doodle "Big Shadow Box Die".  I also used the stitched square die to cut out the window from one side of a single panel.   I then used the Over Coffee ink to stamp the "Good Vibes Border" (sorry, I didn't realize it had been retired) image all over the front of both card base panels.

For easy repeat stamping, check out this video below.  I have some great tips on how to stamp a background with ease!

VIDEO: Tips & Tricks to Creating a Repeating Background

On the backside of the large square panel (without the window), I used my blender brushes and created a cool sunset sky using Be Mine, Tiki Torch and Tiara inks.

Then I die cut 2 of the landscape shaped pieces from the Heffy "Big Shadow Box" die.  I used Clay Mask and Sand Castle inks to created a beachy feel to the first landscape.  For the second landscape, I used the grassy border die to cut the edge and then inked it up with Lime Rickey ink.

Next I stamped bird & floral images from the "Toucan Do It" stamp set in Midnight ink and colored them using Copic Markers.  I also stamped some greenery from the "Tropically Yours" stamp set using Garden Party and sponged Lime Rickey inks.  Two fun palm trees from the "Fearless Pursuit Dies" were also cut out and I free-hand drew in palm trees using Copic Markers for those.  Yes... you can always use your dies alone with out using the coordinating stamps!

Next came assembly time!  I first taped the 2 Big Shadow Box panels together leaving the front glue strip unattached.  Then I laid in my landscape pieces; sandy landscape towards the back and the grassy landscape towards the front.  I also ended up die cutting another landscape piece and trimming it and inking it up to match the pink of the sunset to hang some greenery & my toucan from.  I carefully attached my palm trees to the sandy beach, then my toucan hanging upside down using a piece of clear acetate and then added all the rest of my greenery and flowers.  I also used acetate to help attach my Cockatoo bird as well.

And of course, you can't forget a place to write a message to your recipient!  I used the stitched piece of cardstock from cutting out the front window and mounted it to a fun piece of pink patterned paper from the "Be Mine Prints" 6x6 paper pack and added a fun sentiment from the "Toucan Do It" stamp set.

Now... the good stuff!
