Friends are Like Seashells

Happy Saturday all!  It's my turn to act as hostess for the Saturday Challenge over at Three Room Studio today.

I chose to have a sketch challenge this week for you!  Don't forget you can flip flop the sketch or rotate it!

For my card today I chose to rotate it 180 degrees!  I grabbed my "Mermaid at Heart" stamp set and my brand new Karin Brushmarkers and coloured up the mermaid and her cute shell!

I even stamped the vellum paper with all the little shells and critters and embossed it with shimmery embossing powder! I created the background by just dabbing a few Karin Markers over the cardstock then blending the doodles with water.

Take a moment and visit my fellow designers and check out what they did with the sketch...

Now it's your turn to play along!  Use my sketch seen above and enter in your project over on the TRS Blog.

Good luck!

Catherine Pooler Designs & Pear Blossom Press Together!

Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs and Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! We're sharing fun, interactive cards that will really brighten your day. They feature awesome new stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs, and with help from Pear Blossom Press, they all really light up! Be sure to hop along with us for loads of inspiration; our designers have come up with some brilliant cards.

I have three cards to share with you today!

My first card features the fab "Bright Days" stamp set by CPD paired up with the genius "EZ Lights" by Pear Blossom Press:

Sadly, I forgot to grab a photo of my circuit design behind my card front but the EZ Lights are SO amazing and quick to add, that it's easy to kind of figure out where I placed the lights and the battery pack.

When you press that little blue heart, here's what happens...

To get the heart part of the bulb to be "colorful", I used my Copic Markers and colored the hearts in from the BACK so when the light shines through, the color shows!  SO easy to do too!

For my second card, not only did I used the "Bright Days" stamp set again but I placed my fun bulbs in the arms of the adorable Octopus from the "Ocean Chums" stamp set.  For the sentiment focal area, I cut out a circle to reveal the greeting...

For this card I used the super bright circular "Halo Lights".  All you do is carefully punch out the whole light assembled from it's card and adhere it to your card base.  The little red button is where you press to activate the light on your card front.

When you push the subtle "Push" word on the middle of the right hand side of the card front, the entire greeting is engulfed with a beautiful white, bright light!

For my final card I wanted to see if I could the "Halo Lights" again but beneath my card front entirely.

So I designed the stamping of the bulbs on my card front panel so that 4 of the bulbs sat right above my 4 LED lights in the "Halo Light" assembly.  I added some circles of yellow Copic Marker to the back side of the bulb images so that the yellow would show through the cardstock when lit from behind.

Here's the end result!  A fun group of bulbs all a-glow!  I know my sister and her boys are going to LOVE this one!

I just LOVE making and sending interactive cards to my friends and family!  I can't wait to get my hands on more of the EZ Lights and Halo Lights!

Now, make sure you check out the rest of the talent today...

Have a Spa-tacular Day!

Time for another fun Summer Issue Challenge Week challenge!  This challenge is a fun card sketch from PageMaps...

I decided to use the adorable "Spa Day" stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I first die cut the 3 curved rectangles from the older Spellbinders "A2 Curved Matting Basics A" die set.  I used my Copic Airbrush system to create the rainbow back ground and then added some fun clay "Fruit Cocktail" elements and "Gold Sparkle Crystals".

I had a blast colouring in this sweet little spa bear with such fun and bold colours!

I hope you too are getting in some creative time!

Crafty hugs!

Let's Go Camping!

Happy Thursday!  I hope the week has gone well for you!

Today I'm sharing a card that I have already shared on my Instagram and the Chibitonics Instagram channel.

My camping card features many cool products from Chibitronics!

To create my card, first I stamped all of the adorable images from this My Favorite Things stamp set called "Happy Campers".  I created masks for each of the elements as well.  Using my Copic Airbrush system, I added a base color to my sky and ground.

Next I created the light up area that the front panel was going to sit over top of.  I wanted the moon, campfire and the mouse's tiny lantern to light up.  I marked where each of those items were going to fall on the card base.

Next I made the little battery holder and applied the lines of Copper Tape so that the battery holder would be connected to each of the light up area.  I had to create a Copper Tape bridge for my negative line of tape to go over top of the positive line of copper tape.  All it is a wide strip of cardstock used a barrier between the two lines of tape.

Then I applied the fun white LED light stickers to each of my image areas ensuring that the positive and negative ends of the stickers were located across the proper copper tape lines.

Once all the 3D foam tape was added around the lights across the card base, the front panel was placed on the card base.  When you hit the button, this is what happens...

We have lit up moon, lantern and campfire!  SOOOO cool!  One of besties is going to enjoy this card.  She were Scout Leaders for many years together and she'll appreciate the sentiment of this card for sure!

Stay tuned for more amazing light up cards from me soon!

Happy interactive card creating!

I Whaley Always Love You!

Scrapbook and Cards Today is having a fun Summer Issue Challenge Week this week!  Each day they are posting a fun new challenge to inspire you to create.

I was actually inspired to create using Tuesday's color challenge photo...

I just love all the blues with that pop of green and purple.

So I grabbed my new stamp set "Best Catch Ever" stamp set by My Favorite Things.  I started off by masking off the 3 panels on the front of the card.  I blended Catherine Pooler inks from top to bottom: It's a Boy, Cummerbund, Feista Blue, Cove Blue, Pixie Dust and Juniper Mist.  I then threw on the KKS "Rocky Road Stencil" and inked through it over the panels.  I even added a glow of light coming from above using the KKS "Summer Sunbeams Stencil".

I stamped all the critters and aquatic plants, coloured them in and fussy cut them all out and adhered them to the front.

I love the end result!

Have a great rest of your day!

This week it's Pat's turn to share her sketch... SC858;

I chose to use this adorable bunny in a by-plane from My Favorite Things called "High-Flying Adventure".  I coloured my image using Copic Markers.

I just wanted a bright and cheery card so I used adorable and bright patterned papers.

Come and out and join us for this week's sketch!

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Club Canvo ~ Surf Board Mood Tracker

Today I'm sharing another fun spread in my Canvo bullet journal.  The theme of Club Canvo this month was beach!  The surf board stamps from the "Surf's Up" stamp set included in this month subscription are perfect for using a tracker pieces!

I stamped the surf boards in clusters and then took my fine tipped Sharpie pen and added the numbers in to the designs of the each board.  I even put a color key in the corner so I could quickly fill in those design spaces for each day.  I used the same colors I used to ink my scene at the top in: Tranquil, Sea Glass, Lemongrass, Orange Peel and Sangria.

For the wording at the top of the spread, I used Black Jack ink with the "Habit Tracker" stamp set.

I love how fast this page came together!

I hope you have a fabulous week!
