Sweet November Stamps ~ Lovin' from the Coven

Today I'm sharing another spooky card creation featuring the new Halloween release from Sweet November Stamps.

This little wicked cutie is from the new "Lovin' from the Coven" clear stamp set.

To begin this card, I took two of the sentiments from the stamp set and lightly stamped them all over my kraft cardstock background.  I wanted a subtle look and not a harsh backdrop for my little witch.

I decided to switch up my coloring medium completely today and I used my Polychromos Pencils to color in my stamped beauty.  I stamped her in a Memento Desert Sand ink so that I could create a no-line effect with my stamped image.

It was fun to create with a different coloring medium other than Copic Markers.

I hope you have an amazing long weekend!

Catherine Pooler Designs ~ Happy Meowloween Slimline

Happy Meowloween!

Today's card was created featuring the adorable new "Happy Meowloween" mini bundle from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I began today's card by die cutting out the large scalloped die along with the triple square windows die  from the "Essentials Slimline Die" set in black cardstock.

Then I cut 3 of the new patterned papers from the "Feline Spooky" pack to fit behind each window.

I stamped all 5 of the sweet dressed up kitties from the "Happy Meowloween" stamps set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Then I colored each spooky little kitty using Copic Markers.

Before adding the back panels and the 3D foam tape to the black outline, I attached some pieces of cheese cloth to a few corners of the windows for a spooky web effect.

Add finally I adhered the kitties and the little BOO pumpkin into the scene.  Some kitties are adhered directly to the background and some of them, I used foam tape to pop them up.

Make sure to check out all the new goodies arriving into the Catherine Pooler Designs shop almost weekly!

Happy spooking!

Craft Roulette ~ Ghouls Rule!

It's Wednesday and time to share my latest creation for the latest episode of Craft Roulette!

What is Craft Roulette you ask... it's a weekly live show featuring improvised crafting, special guests, community contributions, tons of prizes and much, much more!  It's live every Friday night over on YouTube.  You can check out this week's episode here.

So the four parameters that the wheel spit out this week were:

  • Project:  A Lady's Card  (she's one cute spook)
  • Colors:  Candy Colors (lots of fun candy colors!)
  • Element: Plant (spooky tree)
  • Random: Tie Dye (my ghosty's sheet)

So this week's card features the adorable digital stamp, "Boo's Batty Banner" and the "Spooky Tree Background Builder" clear stamp set from Sweet November Stamps.

I made my little ghoul a little bit more girlie but adding a little skull bow from the "Lovin' from the Coven" stamp set.

For the tie dye aspect of my card I used some Copic Markers and created sketchy circles of color and then blended them a little more using some Copic Blender Solution.  It makes for a fun effect!

My little ghosty card needed a plant so I chose the spooky tree from the "Spooky Tree Background Builder" stamp set.  I didn't even bother to color it in!  I left it simply stamped.

Make sure to check out Craft Roulette over on YouTube and join us on Friday at 6:30pm CT for a brand new episode!

Sweet November Stamps ~ Happy Haunting!

Today over at Sweet November Stamps, we have a little eerie little digital stamp set going live in the shop.

Meet some of the cruel creatures from the "Haunted Staircase" digi pack!

This spooky pack of digi stamps contains, 2 Grimm reapers, a sliced up ghost, a fiery wall torch, a stone window and of course, a creepy old stony staircase.

For my card today, I used the two "Li'l Grimmy"s, the haunted staircase and a skeleton image from the "Pirate Background Builder" set.  I removed the compass and the seaweed from the skeleton image in my editing software.

I began by printing out my scene and then I used a pencil and planned out all the background details.  I decided I wanted a different back wall detail then just a stone wall so I drew in some curtain detail.

I colored up everything using Copic Markers.

I placed my scene on a piece of black metallic paper and then added some black thread stitching to some of the edges.  I placed everything on my card base.

I love how the background turned out for my little evil basement!  How about you???

Hoping you have a wonderful weekend!

Chibitronics ~ Lighthouse Beams

TGIF!  Today I'm sharing my latest Chibitronics light up card creation.

I began today's card by creating my scene.  I first stamped the background pattern from the "Through the Prism" stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs using Bellini ink.

On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped the rose adorned lighthouse and the rose bouquet from the "Scenic Lighthouses" stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used the solid stamps for each of those images and ink blended a base of Bellini ink over the images. I used a variety of Copic Markers to color over that light peachy ink to add color and depth to all the rose details.  I fussy cut out each image.

Then I die cut the "Hello Die" twice; once in white and another in black cardstock.  I inked up the white cardstock with a gradient of Aquatini and Daydream inks.

I also die cut some leaves using the retired "Fallen Leaves Dies" from vellum.

I took my lighthouse, the roses, the 3 vellum leaves and the double Hello sentiment and adhered them to my stamped card front.

Then I began to plan out my circuit.  So on the inside of my 3D folded panel, I partially stamped the light portion of the lighthouse and the roses in the same location they are found on the card front.  Next I used my Craft Stencil to map out the location of my 2 Gem Blink Animating White LED Light Stickers.  These stickers are BRAND NEW and will be released the first week of September.  I also laid out the position of the battery and the negative and positive sides of the circuit.

Next I laid my Conductive Fabric Tape down on the negative side of the circuit. Then I framed in my battery housing using some 3D foam in preparation for my battery and the beginning of the positive side of the circuit.  I also placed a row of 3D foam adhesive around the outer edges of the panel.

Next, I created a paper flap and begin the positive side of my circuit.  I began my Conductive Fabric Tape end under the flap and then proceeded to take the tape up to finish off the circuit.

And last of all, I added my 2 Gem Blink Animating White LED Light Stickers. These lights when activated, the blink on and off!  SO cool!

Here is what it looks like all lit up. All you have to do is press on the rose to close the circuit and light up those blinking white LED lights!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope this inspires you too to create a fun and interactive card creation soon!

Craft Roulette & Splitcoast ~ Reindeer Portrait

It's Wednesday and time to share my latest creation for the latest episode of Craft Roulette!

For today's card, I also used the newest card sketch from Splitcoaststampers; SC972:

What is Craft Roulette you ask... it's a weekly live show featuring improvised crafting, special guests, community contributions, tons of prizes and much, much more!  It's live every Friday night over on YouTube.  You can check out this week's episode here.

So the four parameters that the wheel spit out this week were:

  • Project:  Picture Frame Card (I created a frame for my reindeer)
  • Colors:  Summer Vacation Colors (lots of fun happy colors!)
  • Element: Game(s) (the elves were playing "Decorate the Reindeer)
  • Random: Checks (check style patterned paper)

So this week's card features lots of festive Catherine Pooler Designs products!

I started by making all my criss-crosses in the design with the fun patterned papers, from "Grandma's Attic" slimline papers.

I used some Spellbinder's oval dies to create the fun frame for my sweet little adorned reindeer, "Dasher" from Catherine Pooler.  I colored him up with some simple Copic Markers.

Scrap'N Stamp ~ Scene Building Tutorial

Today, over on the Scrap'N Stamp Facebook page, I shared some fun tips and tricks for building scenes using your stamps.

You can check out the full video tutorial right HERE.

My cards featured the My Favorite Things stamp sets; "Woodland Friends" (all the critters), "Scene Builder" (the landscape and leafy trees) and "Warm and Feathered Hugs" (the bare trees).

I wanted to share my card from the video first.  This card shares the scene I built with the sky and grass area inked with Distress Oxides.

And here is the card all finished up using Copic Markers.  I used a Deckle Edged Trimmer by Tim Holtz to give my colored panel a funky edge.

I used some Polychromos Pencils to add some of the deeper shadows and fur details...

I hope you come and check out my tutorial and find lots of crafty tips while watching!

PLUS... the cards that I typically create, I tend to giveaway to any live attendee of my video.  Join us to win one of my creations.

Have a great day!

Sweet November Stamps ~ Spooky Tree

Happy Saturday everyone!  Today I'm sharing another amazing stamp set from the Halloween release from Sweet November Stamps.

Today's creation features the huge new Background Builder stamp set, "Spooky Tree".  This large stamp set features this amazingly spooky tree, some graveyard markers, some spooky animals and more!

I began my stamping my entire scene.  I didn't have to do a lot of masking - only a few places around some of the gravestones.

I decided to color in the sky a little differently that I typically do.  I kind of wrapped my color around the moon and made the sky seem to wrap around it by the lines I left with all my colors of blue Copic Marker.

To finish of my card, I added a sentiment from the "Midnight's Halloween Adventure #3" stamp set.

The card doesn't show it well in photographs, but the insides of the pumpkins and the spook tree's eyes are all colored in with fluorescent orange Copic Markers so they actually glow!  Sooo cool!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
