For me, one of my favorite aspects of CP inks is that they work like beautiful watercolors.

Since I knew I would be working with a fair amount of water, I grabbed a piece of Strathmore Watercolor paper for my card panel.

Then I grabbed a soft, almost pastel palette of inks; Shea Butter, Clay Mask, Rose Petals, Polished, Sea Glass and Seafoam.  I applied a little dab of each ink color onto a small piece of acetate, spritzed it with a little water and then applied the often spotty water blotches to my watercolor paper.  I dried my paper after each application of ink.  This is my end result...

It's spectacular!

Next I stamped out the big and beautiful butterfly form the "Butterfly in Bloom" stamp set and embossed with WOW Metallic Platinum embossing powder and fussy cut it out.  I adhered it down along with some fun "Wintergreen Sequins" and a sentiment from the "Furthermore" stamp set using Seafoam ink.

And here's a final look at the inky color palette for this card creation...

So it's time to SHOP INKS!  Almost all the ink pads and refills (some exceptions!) are now on SALE!

Happy inky shopping!

For some more inky inspiration, I needed to whip up a quick Halloween card to accompany a goodies bag I'm sending to my elderly neighbours.

I first grabbed the fun "Half Circle Background" stamp that kinda reminds me of moons.

I used Glitz, Flame, Cranberry Fizz and Glam inks to ink up each moon.  Here's a quick video on how I inked and blended my half circles...

Then I took my cardstock and shifted it ever so slightly to the left and using my WOW "Embossing Ink" pad, I inked up the entire stamp again and then heat set it with clear embossing powder.  Then I took my blending brush and applied Aquatini ink all over the card front.  Seeing as the clear embossing trapped the ink underneath, it created a little white halo around some of the semi-circles.  A little splatter of white paint and some sparkly silver foil cardstock sentiment using the "Block Alphabet Dies" and my card was complete!

I also using my fine White Gel Pen to add some twinkly stars and some fun iridescent sequins from the "Wintergreen Sequins" pack.

Look at all that sparkle!!!  I even tucked a little of our fun "Across the Globe" 6x6 patterned paper under the top corner for a bit of interest!

Here's a quick picture including my fun inky palette for today's card...

Thanks for checking out my post today!  I hope you have a wonderful Halloween eve!

Crafty hugs!

Today I thought I'd share one of my favorite inky techniques today using a Gelli Plate.

I love making cool backgrounds so I pulled out my 5x7 Gelli Plate and some gorgeous Cummerbund and In The Park inks.  I used the "Lovely Birdies" to adorn my background along with a piece of "Black Tie Gala" patterned paper and some "Wintergreen Sequins".

I've decided to keep track of these fun color combos using the tag from the "Notecard Frame & Tag Dies" set and the little star from the "Make a Wish".  I created a printable template for the tag to be temporarily adhered to and passed through my printer for all the ink names. Voila!  A fun tag!

Now, take a few minutes and checkout how I made this fun background.  Click the image below...

See you tomorrow with more inky inspiration!

Christmas is Here Deer!

Howdy again!  It's time for a new sketch from me over at Splitcoaststampers!

Here's my sketch for this week, SC877:

And here is my card using my own sketch...

I used all fun Catherine Pooler products for my notecard sized card today!  The cute little deer, stars and circles are from the adorable "Nostalgic Season" stamp set. I used the "Narrow Stripe Cover Plate Die" to create my own stencil for the "Disco Ball" embossed stripes over the Rouge inked "Notecard Layers Die".

I even made my own note card sized envelope using the "Notecard Envelope Dies" for this little card (3 1/2" x 5").

I love this fun color palette for a holiday card don't you!?!  Sand Castle. Over Coffee. Hot Tub. Rouge.

Come and play along with my sketch this week!  Hope to see your creation in the SC877 gallery!

Rainbow Wishes & an Inky GIVEAWAY!

I have a few birthdays coming up for November that have to go into the mail so I pulled out some of my fun Global Adventure goodies from Catherine Pooler Designs to make at least one card.

So I started by stamping out my favorite "Take a Peek" animal, the giraffe using Sand Castle ink. Then I took my Polychromos Pencils and colored right over top of the brown ink to make my giraffe "rainbow".  You can see an even better close up down below.

The "leafy" looking background was created using the "Wavy Line Stencil" with some Martini ink and then I embossed over top of the ink and stencil using "Disco Ball" embossing powder for that added touch!  The dark blue and zebra patterned papers are from the "Across the Globe" 6x6 patterned paper pack.

The white frame is from the "Skyscape Mini Cover Plate Die".  The Monstera leaf is from the "Leaf Me in Paradise" and the speech bubble and sentiment are form the adorable "Critter Crew" stamp set.

I just the end result of that giraffe!

NOW for the GIVEAWAY!

This week I'm giving away the entire bundle of the Neutral Collection of CP REFILLS (not the ink pads... just the refills). That includes refills for... Midnight, Black Jack, Twilight, Sand Castle, Over Coffee and Icing on the Cake ink colors.

I thought a few weeks ago I had misplaced all my Neutral refills so I ordered a brand new set.  And what do you know!  The day they arrived, I found my original 6 refills!  Always the case right?!?!
