January Journaling Spreads

TGIF!  So happy you are here today!  I'm sharing some more Canvo spreads using the Catherine Pooler Club Canvo subscription goodies!

The theme of January's Club Canvo was music so I couldn't resist making a fun page where I could jot down some of my all time favorite songs.  Isn't this a fun page?

To start my year off and with only 2 days for the first week, I was able to make this a single page spread.  Plus, if you haven't seen one of the newest Canvo stamps, the "Days Many Ways", it's going to be SO useful!  It's going to be a stamp set you'll use every month!

For the January 16th to 22nd spread, I used the "Weekly Eight Stencil" to get my base design.  then I added all my pink and orange accessories.  I used the adorable little TV and little balloon stamp from the "Year Round Essentials" stamp set on this page.  The balloon signifies my hubby's birthday in this case.

Thanks for dropping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

Keepin' it Simple!

Howdy all!  Today I thought I'd share a super simple card using some of the brand new "Beautiful New Year" products from Catherine Pooler Designs.

I began this card by cutting some CP Premium White cardstock using the fabulous "Mod Strips Cover Plate Die".  Then I took piece of light weight computer paper and applied some adhere all over a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece.  I took the strips of paper and applied them all over the back ground in a hap hazard V-like pattern.  I then applied some Sauna ink so it would catch in the seams.

Next I stamped the large bloom from the "Beautiful Day Floral" stamp set using Samba ink and die cut it our using its coordinating die.  I cut the image completely into two parts and applied them to my cover plate piece and then add my sentiment strip with a tiny sliver of patterned paper from the "Fleur De 6x6" paper collection.

Voila!  A card!  So simple!

Thanks fro stopping by!  I hope this inspires you to create today!

Club Canvo - January 2021 is here!

Howdy all!  Happy Hump Day!  Today I'm sharing some of my Canvo spreads for January 2021 with you!

All of the products noted here are now in the Catherine Pooler shop for individual purchase.  Sign up for the Club Canvo subscription and you'll receive all of the monthly goodies at a reduced price from buying them separately.

My first 2021 spread is my monthly introduction page.  I love all those retro feeling images!  I keep my images in a grey tone and added color with the title and musical note stamps!

Included in this month's Club Canvo is this cool stencil called the "Year Round Stencil" PLUS their is an accompanying stamp set, "Year Round Essentials".  It has a circular stamp set with all the months on it to stamp just right in that inner circle! I used mine to record the birthdays of friends and family on it!

I love my "Full Calendar Stencil" to create a single monthly calendar for the month. This is an older stencil but I use it a lot.  The new "January Notes" stamp set is going to be your new MUST HAVE stamp set too!  It has numbers on it... perfect for your calendar and daily spreads.

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back later this week with some more Canvo love.  Happy creating!

Take The Challenge!

Yesterday I was up on the Power Poppy blog sharing a fun challenge where my fellow Bloomie, Gloria Stengel and I challenged each other to create with certain perimeters.

We decided to:

  • choose 1 or 2 stamps to choose from
  • choose a medium to use
  • choose a fun sketch

The challenge that Gloria sent me was:

I chose to use the bloom filled wellies image from the Garden of Gratitude stamp set.  I stamped the image using Antique Linen Distress ink for a no-line effect and then I water colored them using Derwent Intense Pencils.  Then to add all the fine detail back into my image, I used my Polychromos Pencils.

I haven't watercolored in a long time so it was a great challenge that Gloria had me using this medium.  It was super fun to create this holiday card.

I hope I have inspired to get creating. Click HERE to go and check out the challenge I gave Gloria plus her gorgeous end project!

Have a great week everyone!

Coffee and Floral Birthday

It's time for another fun challenge over on the Three Room Studio blog!

This week, as the challenge hostess, I'm challenging you to create a card or project using patterned papers!

I needed a birthday card for someone special so I decided to go with a coffee and floral theme so I grabbed the "Awesome Coffee" and "Mom's Hibiscus" stamp sets plus the "Yay!" stamp set for my sentiments.

I used my patterned paper to paper piece my coffee cup band and all my hibiscus flowers.  I love how the added designs add a nice effect to all my stamped images.

I hope you'll join us for my challenge!

Have a great weekend!

12 Krafty Days of Christmas ~ Burgundy Beauty

Howdy all!  Today is Day 10 of the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps "12 Krafty Days of Christmas".  I'm showcasing the very stamp set I designed, "Winter Scenery" over on the KKS blog today.

I had fun with this card!  I was inspired by a mural I saw in the back ground of a Christmas movie I was watched a few days ago.  It had this burgundy coloured sky in it and the rest, they say, is history.  I decided to stick with the burgundy colour and add a hint of warm peach.

There is actually quite a bit of sparkle to this card but it's extremely hard to capture it on camera!

Thanks for stopping by!  Don't forget to check out the "12 Krafty Days of Christmas" festivities on the blog.  Kimmie is giving away all kinds of goodies!

Happy crafting!

Catherine Pooler ~ "Beautiful New Year"

Howdy!  Happy Hump Day!

Today is the day the "Beautiful New Year" release goes live in the Catherine Pooler Shop!

This release has a little bit of everything... some New Years stuff, some celebration stuff... some floral stuff... some Thanks stuff... and some patterned papers too!

My card today features the fun new cover plate called "Mod Strips Cover Plate".  It's perfect for card fronts or even to cut sentiment strips too! Before cutting my cover plate, I used the "Woodgrain Background" stamp and embossed the paper with white embossing ink.  Then I inked it up with a variety of our beautiful purple inks; Sugared Lavender, Sweet Sixteen, Rose Petals and some It's a Girl pink ink too!

Then I die cut it with the Mod Strips Cover Plate to make it all into strips.  I cut the strips and applied them to my card front to look like wood panelling. Then I added the greetings and aligned flowers and branches along their edges.

I love how they turned out!

Have a great day and happy shopping!

Season's Greenings!

It's Day 3 of the Power Poppy's "12 Days of Christmas" challenge!  To find out all the details, you can visit Day One on the Power Poppy blog!

Today I'm sharing a card featuring the festive "Season's Greenings" stamp set.  I stamped my image in Wicked Black ink and then colored it up using my Copic Markers.

To create my background, I first embossed my cardstock with a cover plate die.  Then I added lots of sticky embossing ink and WOW's Metallic Platinum Embossing Powder and heat set it.

It was super fun to make!  I hope you have a fabulous Thursday!

I've Got that Golden Glow

Over on the Power Poppy blog, the Bloomies are sharing all kinds of amazing projects and krafty tips in the "12 Days of Christmas" Challenge.

My card features the super cool wreath from the "Season's Greenings" stamp set.  I colored my image in with Copic Markers.  Now the colors I used were mostly on the cool side of the spectrum so I threw in a pop of red and played up the gold!

To create that background, I first ran my paper through my die cutting machine with my cover plate die and my embossing mat.  Then I took my Versamark ink and inked up the entire card front panel and poured some metallic embossing powder over top of the ink and heat set it.  Voila!  One sparkle-tastic card!

Have a great Thursday!

Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I love traditional holiday colours. You know, the gorgeous reds and greens of the season.  But there's something special about getting a non-traditional card with a fun colour combination.  So this week I challenge you to use the traditional red & green colour scheme or try using a non-traditional blue & purple combination!

For my card this week, I wanted to use the adorable "Yeti or Not" stamp set using those crazy Yeti characters!  I began by stamping my Yetis and the mountains in the background using Totally Taupe ink.  This colour is perfect for no-line colouring!

For my sky, I used Amazing Azure, Sparkling Sapphire, Stormy Sky ink.  Plus I had to add a few fun snowflakes from the Sparkling Snowflakes Stencil.   My greeting today is from the beautiful "Snowflake Kisses" stamp set.  A few "Pastel Krafty Dots" made the card complete!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have fun with my challenge and I hope you have a wonderful and krafty weekend!
