Some "For Fun" Cards Today!

I've been having fun with my Papertrey Ink stamps and creating cards for my stash....

I decided to create some more cards using back grounds theme of the past PTI Blog Hop. So here they are....

Just Because

I used the linear triangles from the Background Basics: Retro with some cranberry ink from Close To My Heart. I then stamped a large damask shape from Damask Designs set in the same ink. The "Just Because" greeting is also from the Damask Designs set.

supplies: cardstock: Bazzill, Prism; stamps: Papertrey Ink; ink: CTMH, Ranger; tools: Spellbinder's Nestabilities; other: ribbon.

Pink, Red, Orange, Black Card

For this card I pulled out my Guide Lines set and my Damask Designs set and stamped a pattern as my background. I coloured in the odd circle with a pink Copic marker to tie the background to my ribbon and layered flowers. I also used some of the PTI 2008 Bitty Dot Basics paper for this!

supplies: cardstock: Bazzill, Prism; patterned paper: PTI; stamps: Papertrey Ink; ink: CTMH, Ranger; tools: Fiskars edge punch; flowers: Prima; brad: Making Memories; other: ribbon.

I love playing with my PTI!

Spring is in the air and so I wanted to create some cards to add to my card stash using some pretty Spring colours. I chose to use pink, blue and green as my colour inspirations.

Much Appreciated

PTI Blog Hop - Building Backgrounds

This month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop is all about building backgrounds. So I pulled out some of newest Papertrey Ink stamps sets Journaling Lines and Friends 'Til the End sets to create some simple backgrounds.

First a created a dotted grid background using the dotted journaling lines from the "Journaling Lines" stamp set.

Then I grabbed the leaves and the unopened flower bud from my "Friends 'Til the End" set, some white embossing powder and my Versamark ink to create a simple floral back ground piece of paper.

I then stamped an individual bloom from the "Friends 'Til the End" set on some pinky red cardstock, coloured it a bit with some Copics to give it some dimension.

I stitching my dotted grid paper on my pink cardstock, layered the floral accent piece with an added ribbon and stamped greeting tag over top, adhered my flower and embellished it finally with a few adhesive pearls for that final touch. then I ahered it all to my cardstock base.

Voila... two simple backgrounds to build a simple card!

Friend

supplies: stamps: Papertrey Ink (Friends 'Til the End, Journaling Lines); cardstock: Bazzill, Prismatics; ink: Ranger, Versamark, Copic Sketch markers; ribbon: Micheal's; tag: Spellbinder's tag die cut; pearls: Hero Arts.

Lots of cards today.....

So I was looking for a little mojo yesterday to create some fun cards to add to my ever growing card stash. So I went to some of my favourite blogs looking for so inspiration.

My first stop was to the Carrdvarks blog to check out their lastest challenge.

Here's the awesome sketch I found....

Here are the 2 cards I created using the sketch:

Butterfly Wishes

supplies: patterned paper: SEI; stamps: Hero arts; ink: Ranger; cardstock: Prism; tools: Corner rounder by EK Success, ribbon threading punch by Fiskars, Nestabilities by Spellbinders; ribbon: misc.; other: thread.

Next I ventured off to Taylored Expressions where I found this yummy sketch!

And here are the 2 cards I made using Taylor's sketch:

Warm Wishes Bunnies

supplies: patterned paper: BasicGrey; cardstock: Bazzill, Prism; edge punches: Fiskars; stamps: Hero Arts; ribbon: Making Memories; inks: Copics, Ranger; tools: Nestabilities by Spellbinders; other: thread.

Then I arrived at Prairie, Paper and Ink where Amy had posted her Friday sketch #54!

For some reason, I really struggled with this one. I pushed my papers around for an hour until I finally decided to glue and stitch everything down for this one. I wish my flower was a little different in colour but too late now!

And here's what I made using Amy's sketch:

Happy Birthday to You

supplies: patterned paper, stamps: Papertrey Ink; inks: Ranger, Copics; tools: Ranger paper piercer & distressing tool, Cuttlebug embossing folder; ribbon: Offray; other: thread.

Thanks for checking out my cards today! Which one is your favourite?
