Mermaid at Heart

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I'm over on the Three Room Studio blog with a fun Feature Friday!

Today is not only Christmas Eve but today is Three Room Studio's proud owner, Miss Sandy's BIRTHDAY!!!

So as a tribute to our lovely Sandy, I created a fun birthday card featuring the "Mermaid at Heart" stamp set.

I stamped all of my images using Momento's "Rich Cocoa" ink and then coloured everything in with Copic Markers.  I also used a few Polychromos Pencils to add in some of the finer details too.

From Sandy and the rest of the amazing Three Room Studio's design team, Karen, Marilyn, Meghan, Candice, Pam, Kerri, Kim, Susan, Sheila and myself...

A Floral Sympathy Card

The other day I received a piece of mail for the previous owner of the house we live in. It was a little white envelope with a Christmas stamp so I knew it was a holiday card.  Knowing the previous resident had passed away in the fall of 2020, instead of just sending it back with a redirect message I thought I'd make a simple sympathy card to let them know their friend had passed away.

Here's the simple, sentiment-less card I made to include with their returned card...

I used the "Beautiful Day Floral" stamp set and matching die.  I used the "Through the Prism" stamp set for the background and I embossed it with Platinum Embossing Powder.  I used Copic Markers and Polychromo Pencils to color in my images.

I added a few "Oak City Sequins" and some gold "Starry Night" Gansai Tambi splatter to add a touch of shine.

It's an unfortunate card that I have to send but I hope it comes as little less shocking to the family.

I hope you all have a wonder holiday season!  Hugs all those you love and hold them close this holiday season.

Crafty hugs,

A Tiny Heart Shaker

Happy Wednesday! Today is my time to share a fun card sketch over at Splitcaoststampers!

This is this week's sketch... SC885... a simple A2 Sketch...

For my simple card, I decided to make it a cute little shaker card.  Instead of sequins, I used the multi-mini-heart die cut from the "Hearts-n-Tags Die".  I used Glitz, Aquatini and Uptown inks to ink up my mini die cut hearts.  The larger heart die is from the "Two Part Hearts Die" set.

The fun patterned papers are from the "Lotsa Love" 6x6  patterned papers.

Come and play along with us this week!

Three Room Studio ~ Christmas Card Parade!

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the fun Christmas Card Parade for Three Room Studio!

Today I thought I would ink up the fun and festive "Skate Sleep Repeat" stamp set!  This amazing stamp set features our bundled up skater in an "Ina Bauer" position plus a line-art skate, a couple solid image skates, a fun circular banner, some ornate greenery pieces and some beautiful winter sentiments.

I started by ink blending a fun red, blue and green background.  I then used some white acrylic paint with our fun "Star Ray Full Stencil".  A little white and gold paint splatter ere added too!

I stamped and coloured up my banner and skates using Copic Markers.  To make this card a little extra special, I used some fine gold thread and added it to the laces of both skates.

I hope you're enjoying the Christmas Card Parade so far!  Check out the Three Room Studio Blog for more festive fun: HERE!

Happy holidays from me!  Have an amazing Christmas!

Blue Water Dragonflies

Howdy all!  Happy Hump Day!  Today I'm sharing a little "Just a Note" collection fun from from Catherine Pooler Designs

I pulled out my Gelli Plate today and began by creating a soft blue inky back ground using my It's a Boy and Cummerbund inks.

Then I took Cummerbund, Fiesta Blue, All That Jazz and Aquatini inks and stamped the wonky dots from the new "Flight of the Dragonfly" stamp set all over the soft blue back ground.

I took some Silver Embossing powder and stamped out 2 of the glorious dragonfly images onto vellum and fussy cut them out.  I added a few Tinseltown sequins too!

I just love this watery-feeling card!  So tranquil...

Happy Birthday Blossoms

Happy Sunday!  This week is birthday week for my family!  All three of family members have birthdays in December.  My sister's was yesterday, my Mom's is tomorrow and my Dad's birthday was on the 22nd.

My Mom is a real plant lover so I inked up the stunning "Strong and Beautiful" stamp set by Power Poppy.  Marcy has this image available in digital form; "Bowl of Beauty".  I coloured it up with Copic Markers and then I used my Copic Air Brush to add some subtle background color and splatters.

I also die cut my sentiment from the Catherine Pooler "Happy Birthday Stacked Word" die using rose gold coloured metallic cardstock.

I sure hope she likes it!  Do you?!?!

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Freezing Our Acorns

Happy Saturday everyone!  It's time for another fun Saturday Challenge over at Three Room Studio.

This week our challenge is to create a Winter themed card.

I've always loved the funny "Freezing Our Acorns" sentiment from the "Welcome Winter" stamp set so I stamped the adorable little sledding squirrels for my card.

For the greenery around my shaker's edge, I used the mini greenery stamps from the "Skate Sleep Repeat" stamp set with CP inks.

Now, check out my fellow Design Team members...

Now it's your turn!! Check out all the details on the Three Room Studio Blog.

Good luck!

A Holiday Card with Non-Holiday Stamps!

Happy Thursday!  Yesterday I was taking a gander at the new CP "Big Blossoms Floral" stamp set and I was looking at the leaves.  And immediately I saw the potential for a poinsettia flower!!!

So instead of using the leaf stamps as leaves, I used them as the poinsettia flower petals. I used Samba ink for the leaf base and then Rouge ink for the veining.

I used the "Notes of Love Sentiments" stamps and dies for the greeting, the "Notecard Bubbles Frame Die" and some Disco Ball Embossing Powder for the mini frame, the "Scallops & Dots Die" for the scalloped panel and dotted panel.

I took the 2 tiny snowflakes from the "Scrolling Snowflakes" stamp set and the flight-trails from the "Flight of the Dragonflies" stamp set to make my gold embossing back ground panel.

I love combining all kinds of  great stamps and dies together to create all my cards.

A Rainbow of Thanks!

Happy Wednesday!  Today is release day for the entire "Just a Note" collection from Catherine Pooler Designs!

For my card today, I went full on rainbow stripes!  I started by cutting my base panel from CP cardstock using the "Mod Strips Cover Plate Die". Then I took each strip and direct-to-paper inked them up using It's a Girl, Party Dress, Grape Crush, Cummerbund, Limoncello and Tiki Torch inks.

Next I took our new "Big Blossoms Florals" line images and stamped them all down one side of the collective strips in Midnight ink.  A little gold embossed sentiment from the "Handwritten Thank You Sentiments" stamp set and a little gold splatter from my Starry Nights Gansi Tambi paint collection and I called her done!

So simple but so fun!
