A Friend Like You

Happy Sunday all!  Here in South Eastern Alberta we finally got a real snowfall!  We went from my neighbour mowing his lawn at noon yesterday to 6" of snow in less than 12 hours!

Today I'm sharing a fun card using the new Catherine Pooler Designs "Just a Note" collection releasing on Wednesday December 8th at 9am ET.  If you're a StampNation member, you get to shop early - on Tuesday at noon ET!

I started off by stamping this big beautiful bloom from the "Big Blossom Florals" stamp set in Be Mine and Flirty Fuchsia inks.  Then I added a few Mint To Be and Mardi Gras leaves. To create the light spotted effect, I first stamped the Mint To Be polka dots (a flower centre) off on a scrap piece of paper first and THEN stamped it again on my card front - second generation stamping.

I used Platinum embossing powder to heat emboss the smaller words of the sentiment and I used a combination of Be Mine & Flirty Fuchsia ink to stamp the word "friend" and then I added Halo embossing powder over it. 

The panel was cut using my favorite die set, the "Scallops & Dots Dies" and I then placed in a piece of striped paper from the "Decked Out Holiday" 6x6 patterned paper pack because it matched the color scheme perfectly.
