Let’s head back to our Christmas Card Series for 2018 once again!

Today’s cards are all about taking an everyday stamp image and making it festive.  I’m featuring the sweet little “Blowing Kisses” stamp set from My Favorite Things today plus a few others.

Introducing... Amaryllis Bliss

Howdy and welcome to final day of the Power PoppyHappiest Holiday 2018 release.

Today we introduce you to… Amaryllis Bliss

This stamp collection contains a trio of flowers begging to be colored in delicious reds, pinks, and whites — accented by your choice of greenery. Sprigs of fragrant cedar and jasmine would love to be tucked under the petals. A few Amaryllis leaves are included, too! It also contains three pretty sentiments sharing holiday peace.  This stamp set also has an accompanying set of dies too!

I chose to colour my Amaryllises in white.  I found this gorgeous inspirational photo of white blooms with delicate red edges so I though might add a bit of whimsy to my blooms.

Check out my inspiration…

Introducing... Grandma's Snowflakes

Howdy and welcome to Day 3 of the Power PoppyHappiest Holiday 2018 release.

Today we introduce you to… Grandma’s Snowflakes

This is a snowflake set like no other - this one is all based on designs for vintage crocheted snowflakes, the ones like Marcella’s grandma (and so many others) used to make.

I decided to break out some fun patterned papers for today’s card.  And nothing says festive like green and red… okay, and a little pink!

Now, take a moment and take a gander at my fellow Bloomies & their creations…

Introducing... Through The Woods & Snuggle Down

It’s Day 3 of our Happiest Holidays 2018 release for Power Poppy!

Today we actually have TWO new stamps sets to share!

First is… “Through The Woods”…

This stamp set features some woodsy sentiments and evergreens as far as the eye can see. A potted tree has several birdie visitors, plus an extra bird in flight as a separate stamp, who is poised to land in the tree to "gather together" with his friends.

And our second stamp collection is “Snuggle Down”…

It features stamps to create a fun Tartan plaid! Plus this set has two focal images - one is a stack of wool blankets with a lantern and sleigh bells and a second with some fun & festive thermoses.

I decided to combine elements of both stamp sets on one card to share.  Can I tell you how much I LOVE the stamps to create your own plaid???

Introducing... Let Your Heart Be Light

It’s Day 2 of our Happiest Holidays 2018 release for Power Poppy!

Today is all about our new “Let Your Heart Be Light”…

This set of gorgeous stamps features poinsettia-and-holly images that can be used as a two-step stamp with coordinating light beams, a single stamp, or as a pair of borders surrounding a sentiment. We've got 6 sentiments that fit nicely between the borders, several with a light or warmth theme.

I kept today’s card very simple with a focus on that beautiful candle & greenery image…

Introducing... Christmas Corgis!

Welcome to Day 1 of the Power Poppy “Happiest Holiday 2018” release!

Today we’re introducing you to… “Christmas Corgis”.

Our first stamp set is in honour of the Power Puppy, Marcella’s Corgi, Mr. Tibbs. He’s a real stinker as an actual pet, but in cartoon form, he sure is pretty cute! This stamp set features three Corg-centric images with a holiday border snippet and plenty of corny Corgi sentiments.

I decided to pair up a few Corgis fellas and hooked them up to Santa’s sleigh…

Power Poppy: Painting Pumpkins

Hey there!  Happy Friday everyone!  Some of the Power Poppy Bloomies and I have gathered to share some fun projects with you today.

One of the newest images released from Power Poppy is the fun and festive “Painting Pumpkins” digital stamp set.  There are actually several different versions in this digital collection that you can chose to print and color.  I chose to use the no-line pumpkins with the dotted-paint designs.

I began coloring my image with Copic Markers.  Then I pulled in my Polychromos Pencils to add all the fine details.

This card I plan to send to my StampNation PenPal for October.

Welcome to Day 2 of my Christmas Card Series for 2018.  Today I’m going to combine a non-holiday themed stamp set with a Christmas one to create today’s card.  I love being able to re-purpose stamps in this way.  It sure makes them more worth while to spend money on.

So come and join me at my crafty desk for another fun Christmas card.  Grab a coffee and let’s go play!

Just One Ink and Some Shimmer!

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you’ve all had a great week!  I’ve been lucky this week, I’ve actually had a lot of creative mojo.  I actually have a few Christmas card tutorials coming your way…. stay tuned!

This Tuesday on the Power Poppy Blog Julie posed her newest challenge… Sparkle in the Shade…
To see more on the challenge details, click here.

So I thought I would play along with her challenge this week!  So keeping in the holiday card making mood I was in, I chose the beautiful “Glitter House Village” from our previous holiday stamp release.  Aren’t the details gorgeous!!?!?

I wanted to use some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to stamp my image.  I love the look of the Distress Ink blending with that rich Prussian Blue Brusho pigment!  Isn’t it amazing?!?

Here’s a close up of the Fine Tec “Pearl Silver” paint I added to some of the snowy bits of the image…

Hey… don’t forget to check out my Inspire Me Monday post from this week too!
You can find it here!  I used some Distress Oxides to create a fun back drop for my delicate vellum stamped images.  This would be a great technique for some simple holiday cards!

Thanks for taking the time to gander at my card creation!  See you again soon!

World Card Making Day with Power Poppy!

Happy World Card Making Day everyone!  Let’s start they day off with a fun challenge from Power Poppy!

Today’s WCMD challenge is to create a card that we LOVE to send!  Me…. I think my all time favourite cards to send out are Christmas cards.  Yes… I know it’s only October but Alberta is already celebrating winter… we received 5 inches of snow the other day!  Craziness right?!?!

So I chose to make a few brand new Christmas cards to share with you today.

First off, I chose to make a relatively easy card first featuring the sweet little chickadee image from the “Tweet Tidings” stamp set released last year.
I kept the design simple.  I think this card would be very easily repeatable if you love to make multiples to send out of your cards.

Next I went a wee bit more complicated with a fun interactive sentiment card.  I used the Lawn Fawn’s new Reveal Wheel die to create this little fella. On the front I have that adorable little snowman from the “Snow Kissed” stamp set.
If you turn the little wheel peeking out on the right hand side, you reveal a total of 4 different sentiments!  The sentiments are from “Merry Littles” and “Bottlebrush Holiday”.  So super cute!

And lastly, I went even more interactive and made a Double Slider card.  This unsuspectingly little square features the little images of the “Cozy Cupfuls” stamp collection.

When you pull on the two tab openings, you reveal even more images and fun sentiments!  I just love playing with cards like these.

In addition to sharing some fun cards today, we also have a great Power Poppy Shop COUPON to share.

Sweet Pink Peas

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s going to be a fun weekend with lots of card making going on here.  I’m excited to be able to since I’ve been doing lots of Scouty things the last few weeks.

Today it’s all about the new Power Poppy “Power & Spark Challenge” for October.  You can read about it more on the Power Poppy Blog. I love this challenge, as it opens you up to creating all kinds of ah-mazing cards and projects.

For my birthday month of June, I Googled flowers that bloom in that month here in Canada and I had a whole bunch of fun florals to choose from.  I decided to use the delicate Sweet Peas from our “Sweet Memories” stamp set.

I just love their transparency in real life!

Now…
Christine Okken – go here!

Don’t forget to join us tomorrow for a fun challenge for World Card Making Day and also a COUPON to use in the store!  Woohoo… shopping fun!  See you then!
