Chibitronics ~ Batter Up Birthday Card

Today I’m sharing a special birthday card I created for my baseball-loving nephew, who is turning 9 years old next month. Of course, I had to make it extra interactive and fun with some light-up elements using my favorite Chibitronics products!

Card Concept

The focal point of this card is the Power Poppy “Baseball Vignette” digital stamp, which features all the classic gear—a baseball glove, bats, and a ball. I colored everything up with Copic markers for a warm, realistic look and layered the image on a baseball-detailed stamped background. I wanted the card to feel nostalgic yet playful, just like a day at the ballpark.

Light-Up Surprise

Here’s where the fun comes in… ✨

• I used the Animating White Blink LED Light Stickers along with the White LED Light Stickers from Chibitronics.

• By pressing the small baseball inside the glove, the switch is activated and lights up the large baseball in the background.

• As the baseball glows, it reveals the hidden word NINE—perfect for celebrating his 9th birthday in a unique way!

This interactive feature really makes the card special and adds that wow factor when he presses the baseball.

Finishing Touches

To keep the spotlight on the stamped image and the light-up reveal, I kept the sentiment simple with a bold “Happy Birthday” greeting. A bit of stitched edging frames the card nicely, giving it a finished, polished look.

Botanical Bookmark Swap

Happy Thursday!

Today I'm sharing something a little different.  Last month I signed up for a friend's swap and it was about making a botanical bookmark for my swap friend.

I chose to feature the Power Poppy's "Woodland Carpet" clear stamp set.

A lot of the clear stamp sets are no longer available but a lot of the images have been converted to digital images.  Parts of these clear stamps can be downloaded here... "Ferns and Fungi Digi".

To send my bookmark, I created a matching card...

I also used the "Friendly Forest Digi" image to finish off this card.

Craft Roulette ~ Violet Artist Bouquet

TGIF!!  Hope you're having a great week - three cheers for the upcoming weekend!  Today's card is this past week's entry for Craft Roulette.  This will be my 60th submission.

The four parameters that the wheel gave us this week were:

• Project: Thinking of You
• Colors: Fairytale (lots of bold purples this week)
  
• Element: Hears or Ears (the buzz of the bees)
  
• Random: Stamped Background (script and dots stamped in the background)
  

So this week's card features the "Artistic Bouquet" from Power Poppy.  I decided to match the purple hues of my background panel for my bouquet's color palette this week.

For my background I inked it up using some CP Drive-in ink and then used some water to stencil a little bit of the fun Aall & Create stencil through it.  Then I added some dots and gold heat embossed them and also a CP retired script font stamp too.

Craft Roulette ~ A Harvest Howdy

It's Thursday and time to share my latest creation for the latest episode of Craft Roulette!

What is Craft Roulette you ask... it's a weekly live show featuring improvised crafting, special guests, community contributions, tons of prizes and much, much more!  It's live every Friday night over on YouTube.  You can check out this week's episode, #179, here.

So the four parameters that the wheel spit out this week were:

• Project: Tri-panel Card  (3 hand drawn panels)
  
• Colors:  Farmhouse (dusty white, chalky blacks and a touch of warm oranges)
  
• Element: Under Leaf (some of my pumpkins are under the leaves)
  
• Random: Belt(s) (I tied a gold cord around my card)
  

So this week's card features a beautiful image from Power Poppy called "Fortunes of Fall".  Sadly this is no longer offered as a physical stamp but you can download a digital copy called "Pumpkins and Pears".  As you tell from the link, I was inspired by the beautiful watercoloring painting of this image on the website!

All of the aspects of these panel are colored with Copic Markers but I have use Polychromos Pencils to add a lot of the details.  A few white and gold paint splatters are a fun add too! I used a white pencil to add the swirly details to the panels too.

Happy Birthday Blossoms

Happy Sunday!  This week is birthday week for my family!  All three of family members have birthdays in December.  My sister's was yesterday, my Mom's is tomorrow and my Dad's birthday was on the 22nd.

My Mom is a real plant lover so I inked up the stunning "Strong and Beautiful" stamp set by Power Poppy.  Marcy has this image available in digital form; "Bowl of Beauty".  I coloured it up with Copic Markers and then I used my Copic Air Brush to add some subtle background color and splatters.

I also die cut my sentiment from the Catherine Pooler "Happy Birthday Stacked Word" die using rose gold coloured metallic cardstock.

I sure hope she likes it!  Do you?!?!

Birthday Bouquet

Happy Hump Day!  Today I was inspired by a few card challenges.

My card features the Power Poppy "Daffodils" clear stamp set.  You can get this same image in digital form as "Daffodil Bouquet".

My sentiments is from the Catherine Pooler "Birthday Cake Remix" stamp set.

My card today was created for the Seize the Birthday Challenge (Make it a bouquet) and the As You See It Challenge (First Flower of Spring - mine is the daffodil).

Breathe in Life

 

TGIF everyone!  It's been a busy week... lots going on here on my blog!

Today, along with some of the Bloomies from Power Poppy, I thought I'd bring a little tranquility with a beautiful digital bouquet.  This particular bouquet image is called "Pure Fragrance" and it is now available in the Power Poppy shop.

I keep the coloring fairly simple and added a warm yellow glow behind to make things pop!

Inspire Me Monday ~ Just Go For It!

 

Happy Monday everyone!  I'm Ally and I'm your hostess for Inspire Me Monday this week.

When I went to design something to share with you today, I can honestly say I was a little stumped.  I couldn't rattle anything off of the top of my head.  

So when I'm stumped I generally go to Pinterest to get inspired.  Sometimes I type in a color to strike up an image that will get the creative juices flowing.  Sometimes it's looking at glorious florals or sometimes it's even different patterns someone has drawn in their bullet journal.  

This time, I typed in the word "watercolor".  I scrolled.  But not for long when this image got those mental creative juices flowing...

The looseness of the color.  The cooler, bluer tones with the slight touch of warmth.  I was inspired!

So I started by choosing my medium of choice.  I choice watercolor, just like the piece of art.

So I pulled out my watercolor paper and some ink refills that I was going to attempt to use.

I laid down a lot water all across the paper and just dropped soft color in at will.   Some soft purples, some somber blues with a touch of warm peachy tones... there!

Next I grabbed the large floral heart from the "Always Here" stamp set and stamped right in the swirling pool of color.

I then took all of my blues and purples and peach colors and began to losey drop them into the individual blooms and leaves and berries.  I didn't care if I keep my color inside the lines.  I wanted it to f.l.o.w....

I went a little warmer with my colors by adding a bit more of that peachy color but over all I like the loose, unconfined feeling of the final card.

Take The Challenge!

 

Yesterday I was up on the Power Poppy blog sharing a fun challenge where my fellow Bloomie, Gloria Stengel and I challenged each other to create with certain perimeters.  

We decided to:

• choose 1 or 2 stamps to choose from
• choose a medium to use
• choose a fun sketch

The challenge that Gloria sent me was:

• to use either Garden of Gratitude or Maize for Days stamp set,
• use Watercolor and Colored Pencils as a combined coloring medium
• use the sketch provided (by Mojo Monday)

I chose to use the bloom filled wellies image from the Garden of Gratitude stamp set.  I stamped the image using Antique Linen Distress ink for a no-line effect and then I water colored them using Derwent Intense Pencils.  Then to add all the fine detail back into my image, I used my Polychromos Pencils.

I haven't watercolored in a long time so it was a great challenge that Gloria had me using this medium.  It was super fun to create this holiday card.

Today I'm sharing a card featuring the festive "Season's Greenings" stamp set.  I stamped my image in Wicked Black ink and then colored it up using my Copic Markers.

To create my background, I first embossed my cardstock with a cover plate die.  Then I added lots of sticky embossing ink and WOW's Metallic Platinum Embossing Powder and heat set it.

I've Got that Golden Glow

 

Over on the Power Poppy blog, the Bloomies are sharing all kinds of amazing projects and krafty tips in the "12 Days of Christmas" Challenge.

My card features the super cool wreath from the "Season's Greenings" stamp set.  I colored my image in with Copic Markers.  Now the colors I used were mostly on the cool side of the spectrum so I threw in a pop of red and played up the gold!

To create that background, I first ran my paper through my die cutting machine with my cover plate die and my embossing mat.  Then I took my Versamark ink and inked up the entire card front panel and poured some metallic embossing powder over top of the ink and heat set it.  Voila!  One sparkle-tastic card!

Quiet Christmas: Joy to the World Bouquet

Heavenly Peace Dove

 

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today is the final day of the first part of the Quiet Christmas Collection from Power Poppy.

The sneak peeks for the second part of the collection will begin on November 12th.

 Today we are sharing projects with this amazing stamp set... Heavenly Peace Dove is it's name.

I chose to add the elegant banner and sentiment across my Dove and olive branches.  I just love the look of this element of the stamp set.

I chose an unconventional color palette for my card today; peach and a dark cranberry color.  I colored my entire image with Copic Markers and I used my Blender Marker (#0) to add some spotty details to my peachy background.
