The challenge... use either the color palette and/or the sketch, SPDMIX79:

I decided to stick with the sketch and the sweet "Indian Summer" stamp set.  I even made my own leafy patterned paper using the small leaves in the stamp set.

Don't forget to check out tonight's Craft Roulette game episode.  This episode features the "Canada's Lockdown Queens".  It should be super fun!  Starts at 5:30pm MST.

Have a great weekend!

Howdy all!  Welcome to my first day of my Christmas Card Series 2018.  I’m not promising a certain number of cards, I’m just going with the flow and my creative mojo.

You are going to find a lot of my cards have a bit of coloring or have a few fun layers or will be interactive in some way.  These are all of my favourite things about making cards so I thought I’d share those things with you!

So grab a delicious beverage and join me in my craftroom…

Frightfully Sweet

Happy Tuesday!  I have been on a crafty vacation for the last month that’s why I haven’t posted in such a long time.  But I’m back and feeling mighty crafty again!

Today I’m sharing a fun card I made for a friend.  I couldn’t resist using the new MFT “Frightfully Sweet” stamp set.  It’s the cutest Halloween themed stamp I’ve seen in a long time!

I used Distress Oxide inks to create a smooth foreground of lawn and also to create the fun sky.  I used a fun stencil to create the spooky clouds over the moon.  Isn’t that “Scary Scape Die” this cutest?

And here’s the inside of the card…

On another note, if you’re like me, you tend to take your crafty stash to crops to create with friends.  If you own as much stuff as I do, you always make sure your own supplies come home with you.  My Copic Markers are one of my biggest investments so I found the BEST way to label them with my name.  Check out this quick video…

Inspire Me Monday: Turnaround Technique

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday!

Today I’m over on the Power Poppy blog for my newest episode of Inspire Me Monday.  This month I’m doing a tutorial take on the turnabout stamps that have entered the stamping industry this year.

I have brand new video tutorial on how I created 2 of the 4 panels for the NINE Christmas cards I created.  Yup… I made 9 cards!  To check out all nine cards and the video on how I created their back grounds, you can click right HERE!

To add to my examples, I thought I’d share another card example here on my blog but this time use a birthday theme for my turnaround technique.

I first selected a variety of fun birthday themed stamps and sentiments and also some other mini stamps to create my patterned back ground.
Power Poppy Stamps Used: Party Time (Cake Slice, Sentiments), Tree of Life (Dove), Tea in the Garden (Strawberry, Lemon Tea Cup, Small Flowers), Sassy Succulents (mini succulent), Potted Primroses (potted primrose, single primrose), Short Stacks (Happy Birthday to You sentiment)

And onto the two cards I created using this fun panel…

My first card, I cut a complete rectangular panel from the back ground.   I created a tone on tone soft teal coloured back ground piece by stamping the “Happy Birthday” greeting in a similar ink on the cardstock.  Then I created a simple tag sentiment for the front.

And look at all the added sparkle…
Copics: V000, V01, R11, R12, R14, YR30, YG00, YG03, Y11, Y02, BG000, B000, G00

And for my final card, I only have a limited long strip of the back ground paper so I decided to add it to the front of my card on a slight angle and then add the long sentiment hanging over top.  Easy, peasy!

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope my video tutorial over on the Power Poppy Blog inspires you to create a festive back ground or two this holiday season!

Thanks for stopping in!

Monster Madness!

Last night I was up creating a couple of fun Halloween cards to send out.  Typically I don't send out Halloween cards but I couldn't resist the cute "Monster Mash" stamp set from SugarPea Designs.

I made this card for the MFT WCMD challenge #3; By the Numbers. For the challenge, you had to use a number of some kind on your card.  This was the only thing I could find that was number related!!!  LOL!

I also created this card for the SugarPea Designs "Mix It Up Challenge #36";  I was inspired by the purple and the theme of Halloween.

My second card is also another Halloween creation.  I tell ya... those little monsters are just too adorable and fun to color!

I made this card for the 4th MFT challenge: Make & Mail.  The challenge asked us to create a card and mail it... yup, as simple as that!  I made a matching envelope to send it out right away!

I used the fun "SugarCut - SpookyScape" die to create a fun back ground for those little monsters for this card.

I hope you've had a blast creating this weekend.  Happy Turkey Day to all my Canadian friends and family today!

I Otterly Adore You!

And here is card #4 today for the My Favorite Things Camp Create 2017 event.  For this card, we had to create a card using die cuts.

I chose to stamp all my little fishies so they would peek out from behind all the polka dots!  I used my Copic air brush system to add some little blue colour and then took my Blender Pen and made it look like there were a few bubbles.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope my cards today have inspired you to create!  Have a great night all!

Critter Birthday Hooray!

I have a few birthdays coming up in the next few weeks so I thought I’d better get my act in gear and get my cards finished and in the mail.

Today I’m playing along with the SugarPea Designs “Mix It Up Challenge”.  I was inspired by the sketch in Challenge #29:

For my card I wanted to feature the critters from the “Everyday is Christmas” stamp set.  And that fabulous little froggy is popped up on a mini Action Wobble to make him do a jig!  LOL!

Copic Markers: YG00, YG01, YG03, YG17, BG000, C4, C5, C7, R17, R29, E50, E51, E53, E55, Y17

I also included a turtle in the inside of the card.
That fun sentiment and confetti is from the “Bring on the Cake” stamp set.

Don't forget to check out my current GIVEAWAY, right here!  Last week's prize still hasn't been claimed.  The silly thing is, is that the winner commented on the post but never really read it and didn't realize she was the winner.  If she doesn't claim her prize before Friday, this week's winner will win BOTH stamp sets!  Hooray!  Good luck!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed my card!

'Tis the Season!

Hey everyone!  Christmas is only a few days away and I’m still making Christmas cards.  I always receive a few unexpected holiday cards delivered here so I make extra cards to send back just in case.

Today I’m sharing a card for the Holiday Card 2016 Contest over at Paper-Garden.ca .  This amazing Canadian store (Hooray!) carries “everything paper”!  They have a great assortment of cardstocks, envelopes, ribbon and they even do invitations! I was lucky enough to receive some beautiful cardstocks to use and showcase.

For my challenge card, I used some gorgeous “Esse Pearlized 105lb White Cover Weight Cardstock”, “Stardream Lagoon 105lb Cover Cardstock”, “Stardream Juniper 105lb Cover Weight Cardstock” and also the “Basis Green - Matte Text Weight Paper”.
Copic Markers: T0, T2, T4, RV000, R37, G28, BG10, BG11, GB32, BG0000, 0

I have to say I love the Pearlized White paper – it was a DREAM to die cut and it’s pearlized on BOTH sides of the paper so matter which side you use, it sparkles!  All of their pearlized papers shimmer on both sides.

I used the cute little seal, “Snow Cap”, “Iceberg” and a sentiment from the “Snowflake Grove Sentiment Set”  from Purple Onion Designs.  Here’s a close up…

I hope you too will come and participate along with me in the Holiday Cards Contest.  You only have until December 23rd to submit your entries.  For more information on how you can participate, visit here.

If you'd like to check out all the card entries, visit here!

I big thank you to Tiffany at Paper-Graden.ca for the lovely sample cardstocks - their amazing!!

Good luck and happy holiday creating!

I've Gone Batty!

Hey gang!  I've finally gotten to take a few moments and stamp for myself today.  I am in a Halloween card swap over at StampNation this month so I wanted to get my card done and in the mail hopefully today.   Because I had all the stuff out on my desk, I decided to make 2 cards.

I was inspired today by the SugarPea Designs “Mix It Up Challenge #18”.  I chose to use both sides; I used the basic sketch design for both cards plus I chose to use the theme of Halloween from the image side of the challenge.

Here’s my first card today…
Copics: V000, V20, V22, V25, V17, R00, R01, R02

Here’s a quick peek of all the shimmery & shiny detail on this little critter…

I added the same shimmer to this card too…
