Chibitronics ~ Happy Holiday VW Bug

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I'm sharing a fun holiday themed card that features Chibitronics!

I first created the front panel of my 5x6 card.  I used adorable VW Bug & sentiment stamp from the "Wrapped and Ready" stamp set from Catherine Pooler Designs.  I masked off the image using it's coordinating die, inking up the back ground using CP "Mardi Gras" and "Deck the Halls" inks.

I colored the entire image using Copic Markers and added a little gold and metallic white splatter paints from FineTec.

Next I stamped the same image in the same position on my card base using a little ink.  This makes it SO much easier for placement of your lights and battery housing.

I took my little Chibi Stencil from the "Chibi Effects Sticker" package and used it to trace out my LED light sticker locations (shown by the red triangles below).  The red circle indicates the battery location and I've also mapped out the general placement of my negative and positive Copper Tape lines.

First I ran my negative copper tape lines...

Then I ran my positive copper tape lines.  Note that the Copper Tape begins inside the little paper flap so it touches the top of the battery or positive side of the battery.  I made a circle cut in the paper at the bottom so the battery touches the negative copper tape.

Then I made a very simple battery housing but using two pieces of "T" shaped cardstock, some foam tape and a die cut circular hole.

Then I stuck down my five White LED Stickers Pack in their indicated spots and added a ton of double-layered foam tape to create the depth I needed to contain the battery.

And voila... just add a 3V battery and here's the finished card...

And here it is, all lit up...

Here's just a quick video of it all in action...

Thanks for joining me today!  Links to all the Chibitronic components are located throughout the post and any additional supplies are indicated below.

Have a great Thursday!
