Catherine Pooler ~ Boldly Blue Birthday

Happy Friday!  StampNation is having a birthday this month! To celebrate, I made another fun birthday card for this Weekend Challenge.

The challenge is to make a card or project featuring the color BLUE.

For my card, I used some fun Catherine Pooler Designs products.

I began by created my background.  I took the fun "It's a Jungle Out There" stencil and a whole bunch of blue CP inks; Dress Blues, Daydream, On The Lake, Oh Boy! and Minted and created a jungle themed back drop. I used a blending brush to add some soft Dress Blues ink to all the edges.  I splattered some silvery white and gold metallic inks across the panel to finish it off.

Next I stamped one of the monkeys from the "Going Bananas" stamp set in Rich Cocoa Memento ink.  I colored him in using Copic Markers.  I fussy cut him out.

I then die cut out the "Marvelous Layered Word Die" backing it with the solid layer inked with Dress Blue ink.

To finish off the sentiment I stamped out the wording from the "Hey There Marvelous" stamp set using Dress Blue ink and fussy cut them out.

I adhered everything to the card and then added some iridescent sequins for some bling and shine.

StampNation ~ The Great Outdoors

Happy Friday!  Today's card is for the newest StampNation Weekend Challenge and features a few Catherine Pooler Designs products.

This weekend's challenge is all about the GREAT OUTDOORS!

I began by die cutting a panel of CP cardstock using the largest die from the "Dots and Scallops Dies".

I stamped and masked off the lowest wave line.  Then I stamped the little otter above the lower wave and the wooden post above the higher wave line.  I also stamped the little gull on the top of the pillar.

I began by coloring in the sky and then all the waves.  I fished off the colored panel by coloring in the otter and sea gull.

Next I cut a tag from the "Hearts-n-Tags Dies" from the Something Borrowed patterned paper pack along with a white cardstock tag.  I also die cut a circle die and stamped the greeting in Rockin' Red ink.  I adhered the tags and circle greeting to each other.

To finish off the card, I adhered the whole panel and tags to a piece of red and white striped paper from the "Fleur De" patterned paper pack.

Catherine Pooler ~ Christmas in July

Over at StampNation every two weeks we provide a challenge for our members. This week's challenge is to create a card or project for Christmas in July

Today's card features a few Catherine Pooler Designs products.

I began by stamping a variety of pieces from the "Winter Vibes" stamp set.  I used Oh Boy, Melon Ice, Pucker Up and Party Dress inks. I cut each piece out with it's corresponding die.

Next I stamped a whole bunch of the 3 sizes of snowflakes all over a a piece of white cardstock using the exact 4 same ink colors.

I die cut this panel with the largest die from the "Dots & Scallops Dies".

Then I cut a circle towards the top left hand corner of the panel.  I used the whole to position a greeting on my card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the "Seasonal Mix Sentiments" stamp set in Party Dress ink and popped the panel onto the card front using 3D foam.

And voila... a Christmas card to add to my stash!

Check out all the fun StampNation has to offer!

Next I die cut all the elements needed from the "Pedaling By Dies" to create my scene: the bike frame, the basket, flowers, large rectangular gift and the ribbon shapes.

I used the following inks to stamp out my bicycle and scene elements: Catching Rays, Lime Rickey, Samba and Flirty Fuchsia.  I also used Slate ink to stamp the seat, handle bars and the sentiment.

Catherine Pooler Designs ~ Love of Metallics

Today I'm over at StampNation posting a brand new Weekend Challenge!

This weekend's challenge is to use something metallic on your card.

I began today's card by die cutting the "Cosmic Cover Plate Die" from some mirrored silver cardstock. Before placing my silver die cut on my card base, I inked it up with a soft layer of Cotton Candy ink.

Next I used my foiling system and foiled up one of the "Rectangle Frames Hot Foil Plates" using some Silver Foil and also the "With All My Love" sentiments from the "Joyful Thanks Hot Foil Plates".  I used the coordinating dies to cut out my sentiment.

Then I die cut an oval from the rectangular panel using the "Nested Ovals Dies".

Then I took some Silver ink and stamped out the large floral from the "Corner Swag Floral" stamp set and colored it in using Copic Markers.  I die cut it out and adhered it and the sentiment on the card front with a messy nest of silver thread.

Lots and lots of metallic elements on this card for sure!

StampNation ~ Jar Full of Joy

We're celebrating World Card Making Day over at StampNation this weekend!  We have a wide variety of fun card making challenges to inspire you!

My challenge for this weekend is to create a card that is interactive in some way!

For my card, I chose to feature one of the newest stamp set's just released called "Jar Full of Joy" stamp set and coordinating die. I stamped the jar in new On The Lake ink and die cut it out.  I stamped the bow in With An Olive ink with a stripe of Samba ink.  I created a masked hillside and used my brushing brushes to create a On The Lake sky.

I used the mini snowflake from the "Build-a-Snowman" stamp set in On The Lake ink.

Then I stamped my little snowman outline from the the same "Build-a-Snowman" stamp set.  I also stamped the toque and scarf, both in With An Olive and Samba inks.  I fussy cut out elements of each and built my own custom garments.

I also used my Copic Markers to shade the jar and snowman and his clothes.

I used the jar outline to create a shaker card with some white glitter in it.

To create the pull-out tag, I die cut and stamped out the jar's lid and attached it to a partial cut jar inside die cut.  I stamped a greeting from the "Build-a-Snowman" stamp set using With An Olive ink.

For the card base, I cut a 4 1/2" square card base and used the With An Olive ink through the "Tiled Up Stencil".  Then I used the small snowflake again with Samba ink and placed them at key spots on the stencil design.

StampNation ~ A Cozy Cuppa

Over at StampNation we have another fun Weekend Challenge posted for this month.

This weekend's challenge is to be inspired by this cute little photo of the cozy cup...

I chose to use the actual cup as the inspiration!  So I grabbed the Catherine Pooler "Con Panna Dies" and cut the 2 pieces out of white cardstock.

First I used my CP Blending Brushes to add an even coat of Cotton Candy ink all over the cup die cut. I die cut 2 of the 5 snowflakes from the "Snow Many Flakes Dies" and adhered them all over the cup's surfaces.

Then I stamped one of the kitties and the Santa Hat from the "Peeking Pets" stamp sets in Hoodie ink, colored them using Copic Markers and die cut them out using their coordinating dies.

For the inner sliding card, I stamped the 2 sentiments from the cute "Holiday One Liner Sentiments" stamp sets with Hoodie ink.  I also stamped another kitty at the bottom of the tag and colored it in using Copic Markers.  To finish off the tag, I used some soft pink ink to add dimension to the whipped topping.

Just a cute little gift card holder with some kitty fun!

StampNation ~ Extra Frosting

Today begins a new Weekend Challenge over at StampNation!

This new challenge is all about "sweet treats" and I went whole hog on creating a delicious cupcake birthday card.

I used lots of fun Catherine Pooler Designs products for today's card.

I began by creating my background using the cool "Gradient Diamond Stencil".  I used Limoncello, Tiki Torch, Oh Boy! and Something Borrowed inks to create the gradient of color.

Then I created my yummy cupcake.  I used the delicious "Extra Frosting" stamp set to create it.  I used all colors of inks for this: Limoncello, Tiki Torch, Lime Rickey, Oh Boy!, Something Borrowed, Samba, Buttercream, Sand Castle and Icing on the Cake inks.

For the sentiment, I used Icing on the Cake ink and the fun sentiment, also from the "Extra Frosting" stamp set.  I cut it out with the fun pinked edge die from the "A Cut Above Die".  It looks more whimsical on the corner that way!

I used a single red Copic Marker to add some detail shading to the cherry and polka dots to the cupcake liner.

Finally I added some fun leaves on the card.  These are from the "Fall Finds" stamp set.

For these leaves, I used Lime Rickey, Oh Boy! and Tiki Torch inks.  The blue ink intensifies that green to tone it down a bit and the orange ink just adds a little bit of interest to them.

Overall, an enjoyable card to make!  This card is already off to a fun, crafty friend.

I hope you'll come and join us!

I used the "Hipster" 6x6 paper pack for all my patterned papers today... so cute but masculine!
