Moo Cows & 4th Birthdays!

StampNation 4th Birthday Bash
StampNation opened on January 11, 2011.  Yep!  That means our FOURTH birthday is coming up in less than 2 weeks!  Wooohooo!  We celebrate birthdays in a big way, so you are in for some serious awesomeness.  A week full of challenges, videos, prizes and surprises from our fabulous sponsors at Simon Says Stamp, Verve and Whimsy.  Wow right?

It’s Wednesday so time for a new challenge over at StampNation!  This week it’s an obvious challenge… create a New Year’s card.  Here’s a sneak of all the Dream Team creations…

And here’s my personal card sneak peek…

I also decided that I was going to make another New Year’s themed card using the sketch from Splitcoaststampers today.  I featured the sweet little cow fella from the Simon Says StampBirthday Farm Animals” stamp set.  I cut out his little “Have a Moo-tiful Birthday!” greeting from his banner and wrote in my own…

I added some Sakura Glaze pen to his eyes and some clear Wink of Stella to his banner.

Bottlebrush Holiday Greetings

Hello fellow Power Poppy lovers!  I’ve been on a crafting-holiday the last 2 weeks.  Being ill doesn’t make for easy card creating at all.  And believe it or not… I still have to send out the majority of my Christmas cards as well!  I KNOW… better late then never right?  Smile

CAS(e) This Sketch #104So in an attempt to make a few more holiday cards, I wanted a super simple card design to use.  I found a fun sketch for the CAS(e) this Sketch challenge that I thought would make an easy and quick card creating design, CTS #104:

And here is the card I created using their sketch this week…
Happy Holidays by Allison Cope from Power Poppy

I featured the “Bottlebrush Holiday” stamp set.  It has this row of overlapping bottlebrush trees that I used with the single tree to make the stamped row of trees across the front of the card.

I partially die cut the “Happy” from red cardstock and then embossed the remainder of the die; adding some Glaze pen for added shine.  The “Holiday” is a greeting stamp from the “Bottlebrush Holiday” stamp set also.

Power Poppy Peep of the Week?
Welcome to another edition of Power Poppy’s “Peep of the Week” Challenge!  We’re so close to Christmas and I haven’t even sent out my holiday cards yet.  It doesn’t help that I sold all of my Christmas cards at the Christmas Market last weekend either.  So I had to start again with making more cards to send all of my family and friends again.   Not too worry!!  It means I have been busy at work at my desk all week having fun with all my holiday themed stamps!

If you too would like to play along this month and possibly be featured on the Power Poppy Blog as our “Peep of the Week” then here are all the rules you need to know; click HERE.

Well… on to the show!

Today for my card, I’m featuring the stamp set, “Merry Littles”. This sweet stamp collection features a ton of cute little holiday images and some fabulous sentiments too!  For my focal image, I used the mini poinsettia, the bottlebrush tree and the festive berry decorated present:

Here’s a little close up of my masked little grouping of festive items…

I used some Glaze and Sparkling Glitter pens to add some glitz and shine!

Deconstructed Sketch #180For my card design today, I used the latest sketch from Deconstructed Sketches, DS180;

In hind sight, I might not have used such a long rectangle for my focal image but now that it’s super stuck down, I can’t fix it!  Oh well!

No Peeking!

Hello stamping fans!  It’s Wednesday and time for another fun challenge over at StampNation again.
This week, the Dream Team is all about using sketches!  Yup… and it’s even a sketch that I designed
Smile

Here’s a little peek at what the ladies on the Dream Team plus some of our accompanying guest designers have created this week:

DeNami
Blinkie
We are very blessed this week to be sponsored by DeNami Design!  This company features some super cute rubber stamp and cling stamp designs for Christmas, birthdays... every occasion!

DeNami Designs has also given us TWO $50 gift certificates to give away.  The only thing is that you must be a StampNation member to participate to be able to win.  So I guess you better check out SN right away!

I have another card I created to share with you my readers today!  I’m featuring the DeNami Design stamp sets, “No Peeking Circle Chickie”, “Holly Chickie” and “Kitty in Present” today.
For my circular tag, I masked off the little chickie in the middle and then stamped it onto white cardstock so all I got was just the ring of greeting.  I stamped, coloured and fussy cut out my kitty and added him over top of my circle with some 3-dimensional OLBA glue.

I added a bit of embossing and also some sparkle (sorry it's so hard to see!)!

Thanks for joining me today!  I sure hope you’ll check out StampNation if you aren’t already a member! We have a blast over there!  Hope to see you there for you chance to win this week.

Sweet Meowy Christmas!

Hello stampers!  I’m back this week with a super fun sketch over at Splitcoaststampers!  This week, Janette has designed a super simple sketch so your card  making is quick and easy.  Hooray!

Here are the two cards I created this week featuring stamps by Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. I just adore this holiday inspired set called “Candy Cane Kisses!”.

My first card is very close to sketch except I made the central panel a little longer and then attached my greeting at the bottom instead of on it’s own.  Aren’t his cute little plaid PJs super cute?

And my second card is a lot closer to the original sketch design except I matted the card with the fun candy cane pin striped paper this time.

I hope you’ll join us over at Splitcoast this week for a great sketch!

Happy Monday everyone!

It’s a “Plaid” Kinda Week!

Well it’s FRIDAY!  Are you as excited as I am about the weekend almost being here?  I think this weekend I will finally get into the Christmas spirit and put up my decorations.  We have snow on the ground but I’m still not quite in the holiday mood yet.  Traditionally I’m bugging my hubby to get all of my holiday boxes and the tree out of storage just after Halloween but this year, I just haven’t found that drive to decorate yet!

As far as my holiday cards go, I have quite a few done but I’m going to donate and sell them for my Scouts group at the local Christmas Market on Sunday so we can raise funds for our group activities.  I’m hoping that they all sell in addition to the mini chocolate chip pecan banana loaves I’m going to make too.

Power Poppy "Peep of the Week"

Friday also means that we’re off to find our Power PoppyPeep of the Week” today too!  Join the Bloom Brigade in creating something fun and YOU could win just by participating along with us.  For further challenge details, click here.

If you joined me on Monday for the Power Poppy Hop, you missed out on another fun plaid creation, hence the title, using the newly released digital stamp set “Winter Pick-Me-Up”.  You can see it here.

So here’s my second plaid inspired card this week featuring the beautiful “Heaven & Nature Sing” stamp set from the Happiest Holiday Collection. The greeting is from the "Poinsettia" stamp collection.
Power Poppy: Heaven & Nature Sing stamps by Allison Cope

I added some simple black line and dots with my Copic 0.25 Multi-liner pen and then I also added some subtle texture using my Copic Blender pen too!  With some cool glaze on my berries and bird’s eyes, I was set!

Another Purple Christmas!

Happy Thursday everyone!  This week I actually had a moment to just create for myself.  So I pulled out some of my new Purple Onions Designs stamps and began to create for a few fun challenges I’d seen around.

Purple is my favourite colour by far so any excuse to use it in my books is good!

I began my card by creating a fun tag including the sweet little skating snowwomen and her fine feathered friend in tow!

Here’s a close up of the back ground purple cardstock.  I used the Merry Christmas greeting from the Power Poppy stamp set “Poinsettia” and the stars are from Purple Onion Designs, like the snowman and birdie.

I chose the snowman (and the tag) for this week’s “The Card Concept” challenge.  I used a Clean & Graphic style for my card today.

I also chose to add the little bird for this week’s Merry Monday Challenge – use a bird on your Christmas card.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Get out Your Winter Plaid!

Howdy Power Poppy lovers!  If you already haven’t checked out the newest digital release for this month, you are missing out!  Take a gander at these two beautiful florals and accompanying sentiments by Marcella Hawley

Still being in the holiday spirit of card making here in snowy Alberta, I took hint from some of my favourite holiday things… great holiday colours, green, grey & red, cool intricate layers and plaid!  I love plaid!

I couldn't resist applying all that fun stuff with the new “Winter Pick-Me-Up” image & sentiment and also the new “Camellias” sentiment today…

If you look closer, I actually have quite a bit of sparkle on this card but it’s very subtle…
