Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #11

Yippee! TGIF everyone!

This week's challenge over at the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog is all about buttons!! Yup! Something I admit I have very few of in my stash... I know!!! Shocker huh!!??

Here's the card I created using a funky button I found in my stash:

BLACK SILK
I started by creating my card using some COOL new papers by Hot Off the Press; Color Me. These papers begin with a gold embossed image on a white cardstock background. I carefully painted my gold embossed papers with some shimmery black and teal paint to highlight the colour of my cute little button. The paper now looks like silk... hence the name of my card!

I layered my button with some Prima Summer Lovely Leaves to make it pop. I used the beautiful Spellbinder Fleur de Lis Doily Accents die cut as my back drop to put it on.

My card is just your standard card this week! It actually opens on the front and has a panel for your hand writing. Something a little different from the norm...

Come on and out and play along with the Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge team this week and you could win two Stampavie stamp sets, retail value at over $20.00!!!

Take a moment or two and check out what my fellow Challenge Team members have created this week:

Made with Love

This week over at CP4U we have a bright and fun photo challenge by the lovely Regiane. Regiane has given us THIS cool photo to inspire our creations this week.

For me, it was the beautiful, bright , bold colours that stood out the most so that's what I used as a starting off point for my creation this week.

Made with Love

supplies: cloud stamp, myStamp BOX; patterned papers, Doodlebug Design; cabbage rose ribbon, Tim Holtz; brads, Making Memories; twine, The Twinery; mists, Tattered Angels; cardstock, Bazzill; cupcake pin and buttons, My Little Bit of Whimsy; tools, Klic N' Kut machine; other, thread.

I started off by designing and cutting a penagon shaped puzzle from multiple shades of the super fun Doodlebug Designs "petite prints" cardstock. I had it in a variety of different colours and I knew the bright colours would be a whimsical design to use for my layout. I used my Klic N'Kut design studio to design the pentagon shapes and corresponding diamond shapes that fit in the pattern. I also used it to design and cut my title details too!

A touch of zig-zag stitching added a finishing touch...

I added some fun brads to my cabbage rose ribbon to look like sprinkles... just like the cupcakes we made for my husband!

Those cute little cupcake buttons and the single pin are from My Little Bit of Whimsy! I knew they were a perfect fit for this layout!

I finished it off with a stitched heart wrapped with twine and a single cloud to match the 2 around my focal photos at the top. It's a cute little stamp from the "Wishing You Sunshine" stamp collection at myStamp BOX.

I hope you'll join the rest of the CP4U team for this week's prompt! This is the last prompt for January... and a chance to WIN a $20.00 gift certificate to a Canadian or US based scrapping on-line store of your choosing! Just think of the shopping possibilities!!!

Snowy Scenes and Sketches!

I've been on roll and this sketch from Card Patterns got my creative juices flowing again today.

Click the sketch to go directly to the sketch blog post.

So I decided to combine it with the new challenge over on the Your Next Stamp challenge blog today. This week's challenge was to create a snowy scene on your card. So I grabbed my new "Ellie Building a Snowman" stamp and set to work combining the two....

Winter Scene

supplies: stamp, Your Next Stamp; patterned papers, Lily Bee Design; ink, Copic, Memento, Ranger; cardstock, Gina K. Designs; edge punch, Fiskars; die cut snowflake, Spellbinder's; carrot pin, My Little Bit of Whimsy; twine, The Twinery; other, thread, mini snowflake.

I bought these cute little carrot pins from My Little Bit of Whimsy in the fall and I knew it would be perfect on this card... I mean what would a snowman be without a carrot nose???

I hope your Saturday is going snowing-ly!!! Happy stamping!!

Yesterday was my day to post a sketch and challenge over at Let's Capture These Sketches!

I also used a few more Whimsy products... like the big textured buttons and a cute little apple pin...

I my haste last week I forgot to share my layout using last week's sketch and challenge.

You can see last week's sketch HERE.

Last week's sketch was designed by Guylaine. She challenges us to use either rik-rak ribbon or zig-zag stitching on our pages. I chose to go with the stitching... d'uh... sewing addict here!

Mission 028: Celebrate!

Our challenge this week for Mission to Create was to use:

Deborah
: use denim
Jocelyn: use 2 stick pins
Nicole: splats
Vanessa: rhinestones
Melissa: orange

This was the hardest challenge for me so far... I just couldn't find any denim to use. So for me, I used the last 4 concepts of the mission this week...

Happy Birthday
supplies: stamp, myStampBOX; patterned paper, Lucky 7 Factory; cardstock, Prism; edge punch, Martha Stewart; twine, The Twinery; shaped label, Pretty Little Studio; rose lace, Maya Road; mists, Tattered Angels; gem pin, Making Memories; cupcake pin, My Little Bit of Whimsy; other, ribbon, thread.

I love the end result of this card. It's so bright but kinda pretty too!

For your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Pretty Little Studio link us up with your card or layout using at least 3 of the concepts listed above on the Mission to Create blog here.

This is really a wonderful prize worth playing for!!

Butterfly Dreams

This week over at Creative Prompts 4U is what Debbi's turn to share a prompt. This week she chose to inspire us using a beautiful ad photo. You can see the photo here.

Here's the card I created using this week's prompt... I took inspiration from the colours, the overall design and the butterflies of course!

Miss You

For my card I used some fun myStampBOX stamps. For the circles, I used the set Funky Circles and the sentiment in the center is from the Small Greeting set. I also used one of the butterfly images from the Colorful Companions sets and backed them with a Spellbinder's die cut shape.
If you join us this month and create a project using one of this month's prompts, you could win a gift certificate to the My Little Bit of Whimsy store!
