Power Poppy: Hello Rosy!

Howdy all!  Happy Friday!  Since it’s a new month, over at Power Poppy we’ll begin a new monthly challenge.

This month’s Power & Spark Challenge is all about the no-line colouring technique!  It really isn’t as hard as it looks.  For all the details, please click here.

Let me show you how I began my colouring…

A: Stamped my single rose bud from the “Everything’s Even Rosier” stamp set using Bundled Sage Distress Ink onto Arches 140lb Cold Pressed water colour paper.  You’ll want to use a light coloured ink for this technique.  I could have used a lighter ink myself… oh well!
B: Added my grey tones to all the shadow areas using my ZIG “Gray Tint”.
C: Added my base colour to my petals. ZIG “English Lavender”.
D: Added my darkest purple to all the shadow areas. ZIG “Violet”.

E: Added my next lightest-toned purple and blended out the dark purple. ZIG “Lilac”.
F: Added my mid-tone purple and blended in out. SIG “Light Violet & Lilac”.
G: Added my base coat of green to my leaves. ZIG “Green Shadow”.
H: Added some subtle yellow and orange tones to the leaves. ZIG “Yellow & Flesh Colour”.

I: Added the darker green to the shadows and veins of the leaves. ZIG “Light Green”.  As so added some more “"ZIG “English Lavender” to the shadows to darken them.
J:  Added some subtle pink colour to the rose petals. ZIG “Sugared Almond Pink”.

After trimming it out and adding it to my card… VOILA!

Timeless Tuesday ~ Touch of Gold!

Howdy all!  It's time for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge over at Flourishes!

This week the lovely Katie is our hostess and she is challenging us to use a TOUCH OF GOLD this week!

For my card this week I grabbed some Easter stamps to try and get ahead on making those for my family and friends this year.

I started by using my Silhouette and cutting some Classic White Cardstock using the Easter Wishes Silhouette Cut File.  Then I stamped my egg image from the corresponding stamp set, Easter Wishes, using Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink.

Next I took the beautiful Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames Die and cut a piece using white cardstock again.  Then I using some Versamark ink and stamped the sweet gingham image from the  Berry Sweet Frames stamp set onto my embossed cardstock and added some gold embossing powder.

Too add further gold touches to my card, not only did I emboss with gold powder but I also added some gold pearls, and I added some gold pen detail to edges of all of my patterned papers and also the edges of the bow on the egg too!

Then I coloured in my images using Copic Markers:

B91, BG10, BG53, R11, R12, 

Y000, Y00, Y11, YG17, YG21 and YG23.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday, #337, for my card design today....

Free For All Friday ~ November Release Focus!

Today we bring you another round of inspiration created with our brand new November Release Stamp sets from the Senior Design Team. We had so much fun with them we just couldn’t stop making cards! It’s our chance to show them off at least one more time while you can still purchase the November Stamp Bundle at a discount! Howdy all!  In honour of all the chilly weather we're having around here in Alberta, I decided to go for that "winter sweater feel" for today's creation...

My card base is made from "Smoky" cardstock from the Cool Neutrals Color Made Easy collection.  Then I stitched some cool patterned papers together and matted them using "Thunder" cardstock from the same cardstock collection.

I stamped my coffee cup from the new "Grab a Cup" stamp set onto some diamond patterned paper and also some Classic White Cardstock amd fussy cut out all the coffee cup pieces.  I coloured in my lid and coffee wrap using the following Copic Collections:

 

On the wrap part of my cup image, I used some Memento "London Fog" ink and stamped some of the damask diamonds from the "So Distressed" stamp set.  I also stamped some chevrons using the same ink in the corner of the blue and white polka dot paper...

I finished off my card with a simple double bow using some beautiful "Delft Blue" seam binding ribbon and metal die snowflake charm.

For the inside of my card, I used a subtly coloured patterned paper and stamped my sentiment from the "Grab a Cup" stamp set in Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink and then some more chevrons from the "So Distressed" stamp set using Memento "London Fog" ink again.

Timeless Tuesday ~ Burlap or Canvas?

Happy Tuesday everyone!  To all of my fellow Canadian friends and family, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!  Hope you didn't stuff yourselves too silly with too much turkey!

Today's challenge is all about some using some very cool materials in your projects.  Deborah is our darling hostess this week and she is challenging us to...

For my card today, I started with a piece of natural sticky-backed canvas and stamped a variety of the new "Handmade Snowflakes" images all of it.  I used some Versamark ink and embossed in white and silver embossing powders and then added some darker blue snowflakes using Ranger "Faded Jeans" Distress Ink.  I like how the embossing powders melted right into the texture of the canvas.

For all the grey tones of my card, I used everyone of the gorgeous colours of cardstock from the "Tonal Neutrals" Color Made Easy collection; Stonehenge, Dusk and London Fog.

I even decorated the inside of my card.  I used some Flourishes Classic White Cardstock to create my writing space and my mini tag. I tied my mini tag on using the Metallic Silver String.  I inked all the edges of my white cardstock using Memento's "London Fog" ink.

For my card today, I used the newest Merry Monday challenge; #79 - "use snowflakes & the colours blue, grey/silver and white" and the basic sketch from Mojo Monday #315.

Stripes and Polka Dots

I had fun playing with all kinds of fun patterned papers today from Bo Bunny!

For my card I used one of the newest releases from Flourishes, "That's a Wrap!" stamp set.  It has the cutest little bow, sentiment and tag element to it! 

I used this week's sketch #312 from Mojo Monday as my design inspiration.  I decided to rotate it 90 degrees first.

I also combined my card today with my newest find, The Pink Elephant challenge:  to use polka dots and stripes on your project this week!

He's My Limited Edition

My husband's birthday is on Monday and I needed to make him a card.  I grabbed this week's Mojo Monday sketch #276 and used it for my design.  I sure hope he likes it!

I used a super cute stamp set from KaiserCraft today for my card.  The images include a car, an airplane, a banner, a tire track, some wheels and some print.  The birthday greeting is from the Flourishes stamp set, "Birthday Pennants".

I Got Some Mojo Today!

I was just itching to use some new patterned papers that I purchased a few days ago so I grabbed this week's Mojo Monday sketch and went to work!

For my card I started out with one of the fabulous new stamp sets from Flourishes, "Poinsettia & Pine".  I chose to use my machine and used the corresponding NEW "Poinsettia & Pine SVG Cut File" and some glorious Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  To finish off my card I used the Authentique "Peacefiul" 6x6 paper collection - I'm just drooling over this stuff!

Here's a close up of my stamped image.  I coloured it with some subtle Copics and then added some Glossy Accents to the berries.

Bring on the Cherry Mojo!

The other day I picked up a package of the BasicGrey "Konnichiwa" collection and knew that I had to find something fun to use it on right away.  So when I saw this week's Mojo Monday - Sketch 242 I knew it would be perfect!

Here is a close up of the stamped image I used.  It's the large cherry blossom image from the myStamp BOX set, "Cherry Blossoms".  My sentiment is from the "Small Greetings" myStamp BOX stamp set.  I used the Kaleidacolor Raised Rainbow Dye Inkpad by Tsukineko called "Desert Heat" to get the shades of reds to oranges for my cherry blossom image.  Super cool ink!

Beautiful Bouquet

I've been flipping through my Flourishes stamps all day trying to figure out what image I was going to use for this month's Bring Back Beautiful challenge over on the Flourishes blog. I did however, decide immediately that I wanted to use today's Mojo Monday sketch:

I finally settled on the large bouquet of flowers from the stamp set, Spring Bouquet. And here's how I combined the two challenges...

Hoppy Tuesday!

It's SO good to be back at my desk after 2 weeks away. It feels good to create again.

Yesterday I was sitting down looking for some card inspiration so I hopped on over to the Mojo Monday blog and I found this gorgeous card sketch... PERFECT!


And here's the card I made using this week's sketch...

Bunny Hugs

I even made it interactive! The little flap at the front lifts up to show the entire bunny image from the Inky Antics stamp set, "Bunny #2"... which I paper pieced using the new Whimsy kit from WeScrap!!!

You just LOVE this kit... it's SO girlie and can I tell ya... there are a TON of alphabet stickers in this puppy... It's a "TO DIE FOR" kit for sure!
