Hey everyone!  I think this new set is so cute.  I just had to step out of my card making style for this set today and make something with some whimsey!

Call Me, Maybe

I started off my card by creating a A2 card sized card base using the "Purple Palisades" cardstock from the "Crocus" Color Made Perfect Cardstock package.

Then I printed out a map of Canada on some Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and then used my Silhouette Cut File to cut out the telephone and coffee mug negative from my map.  I then cut a mat using Flourishes Classic White Cardstock again and used a pencil to mark the exact position of my cut out. I then stamped my fabulous image using my favourite ink, Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink.

I then coloured my image using the following Copic Collections:
I also added a fun banner using some patterned papers using the May 123 Create Kit - "Prairie Chic".

My sentiment is simply stamped right on to a wood veneer speech bubble using Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink.  The stars represent where I live and where my Mom and sister live - that's who my card is for!  Cute eh?

I finished off the inside as well using the same image from the "Call Me" stamp set, a simple sentiment and fun strip of yellow gingham paper from the May 123 Create Kit - "Prairie Chic".

Don't forget... all of our new sets are available for pre-order — if you like what you see on our designer’s blogs today. And, you can also take advantage of our New Release Bundle for May as well! It’s a deal where you can get all of our new sets HERE for 10% off if you purchase as a bundle!  Happy shopping!

Timeless Tuesday ~ I'm Seeing Red!

Hello everyone!  Hope your week is going well!  It's that time of week again... time for another amazing Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes!

This week our challenge comes from the super talented Denise Marzec!  Denise is challenging us today to create a project with the colour red (FTTC208).  See... super easy!!

Red Bouquet

I began my card this week by first loading up my Flourishes Winter Bouquet SVG File for my digital die cutting machine.  I cut the largest file using Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Then I stamped the large bouquet image using Memento "Black Tuxedo" ink into my die cut.

I coloured my image using a variety of the Flourishes Copic Collection sets:

I mounted my pretty bouquet onto of the Flourishes Tailor-made Die, Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames.  I used a bit of Ranger "Fired Brick" Distress Ink to highlight the embossing left by the die.

I finished off the front panel of my card with some Flourishes 'Color Made Easy' "Poppy" cardstock, some "Basque Red" seam binding ribbon, some fun patterned paper and some cool die cuts.

I wanted to incorporate the outside of my card to the inside of my card so I used a few of the same elements of my card front on the inside.

I used the simple greeting of "Congratulations!" from the "Sentimental Favorites" stamp set to finish off the inside.

Come along and play with us this week!  Let's see a little RED on your cards and projects.  Link up your creations to the Flourishes blog for a chance at winning a little guilt free shopping!

Timeless Tuesday ~ It's Sketchy!

Timeless-Tuesday-New-Logo

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday to all! I want to take a quick moment and welcome our newest designer to the Friends of Flourishes Team, Deborah Anton!  Welcome Deborah!  We're so happy to have you as one of the Flourishes family.

Our challenge this week, FTTC206, comes us from me this week.  I am challenging you to create a card using the following sketch this week...

FTTC February 5th Sketch
Please feel free to flip or rotate our sketch this week to fit your project.  You may also substitute the heart for anything your heart desires.

Here is the card I created for this week's challenge that you saw on the Flourishes blog today...

Thank You
sketch FTTC206 Allison Cope

So instead of sharing it again, I decided to create another card using the sketch to showcase to you here on my blog.

Thinking of You

To begin my second card creation, I first created my card base from the rich dark purple cardstock from the Flourishes "Color Made Easy", the Crocus collection, and then cut three different pieces of patterned paper to fit within the matting of my Flourishes Classic White Cardstock. I then cut a long strip of patterned paper and matted it as well with a fishtail cut at the end.

Then I used my electronic die cutting machine, using the "Stitched for You" SVG Cut File (also available for the Silhouette, here!), cut out my shape and stamped my "Stitched For You" image on the Flourishes Classic White Cardstock using Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink.

I then coloured my image in with a variety of Copic Collection markers;
Here's a close up of my coloured image...
I stitched all my patterned panels and then added my final greeting strip of paper.  I used the "Botanical Bookplates Volume 2" stamp set for my simple greeting.  And voila... a card was born!

I can't wait to see what you do with my sketch this week! Good luck!

Christmas Card Assembly Line!

Happy Thursday everyone! One of the last little bits of non-holiday life is coming to a halt.  Tomorrow is my son's last day of school before the holidays so I spent today making some of the last Christmas cards for some of the people in my son's life; his 2 teachers, his principal and his bus driver.

I started off by cutting my card bases out using my Klic N'Kut machine.  I used a previous card base design that I had already designed to create my card shape.

Then I cut out 4 different card fronts using 4 different patterned papers form Fancy Pants Designs, the "Home for Christmas" collection. I cut 2 strips of different patterned papers and stitched them on to my card fronts.

Then I cut out the small bough shape using the Flourishes "Poinsettia and Pine SVG Cut File" from the same cardstock as my card bases and stamped the small boughs from the actual "Poinsettia and Pine" stamp set on to each shape using green ink. SUPER QUICK and EASY!  No fussy cutting... it's all done for you!!!
Using my Klic N'Kut machine, I then designed a tag that specifically fit my greeting from the Flourishes "Winter Bouquets" stamp set and stamped my greetings using dark brown ink.

Then I wrapped all of the cards using either twine or thin ribbon and adhered my tags and my little holly boughs.

Sure makes it easy when you cut 4 of everything.  I'm going to have to remember to do this next year too!  It worked out so well and SO quick!  Are you ready for Christmas yet???

Supplies:
stamps: Flourishes (Winter Bouquets, Poinsettia & Pine)
cardstock: Papertrey Ink Rustic Cream
patterned papers: Fancy Pants Designs
cut files: Flourishes SVG Cut Files
inks: Stampin' Up!, Memento, Ranger
tool: Klic N Kut
ribbon: Offray
twine: Darice
accessories: thread.

Timeless Tuesday ~ Non-Traditional Holiday!

Howdy everyone!  I'm your hostess this week.  Are you counting the days until the holidays yet?  I know I sure am.  Now, let's get started with our 199th Timeless Tuesday Challenge!

This week's challenge is to create a holiday card or project where you use non-traditional festive colors (FTTC199).  So  NO green or red on your creations this week!  It's indeed, as simple as that!  Why not try creating a holiday card using orange and bluePink and purple?  Or even simple black and white.  Let's see you get creative this week everyone!

Here is my simple holiday card this week...

Merry & Bright

I began by creating my card base using Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock.  Then I loaded some more ivory cardstock into my electronic die cutting machine and I cut out the large poinsettia shape using my Poinsettia & Pine SVG Cut File (also available in the Silhouette Cut File version HERE.).

I inked up my large poinsettia from the "Poinsettia & Pine" stamp collection using Memento "Summer Sky" ink and stamped it onto my cut shape.  I then stamped another poinsettia using the same ink and fussy cut just the poinsettia image out.

I took a fabulous piece of light blue cardstock from the Flourishes "Color Made Easy"~ "True Blue" cardstock collection, rounded two of my corners and embossed my design.  I stitched it onto another slightly larger piece of Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock and added it to my card base.  I stamped my greeting using the "Merry & Bright" sentiment from the "Poinsettia & Pine" stamp collection.  And volia... a simple holiday card was born!

Don't forget... to participate in this week's release week challenge, the "Let's Hop Challenge".  It's a super fun progressive challenge and YOU could win some of the AMAZING new December release stamp sets!!!

Timeless Tuesday ~ Happy!

Howdy everyone!  Welcome to the Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes!

This week the ever talented Broni is challenging us to create a card or project that makes you "HAPPY" (FTTC196)!

For my card this week I decided to highlight the "Happy Holidays" greeting from the Naturally Merry stamp set and nothing makes me HAPPIER than creating Christmas cards...

Happy Holidays

I first die cut my tag using the Spellbinders' "Grommet Tags" die set using Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Then while my tag was still tucked in the die, I took some Ranger "Old Paper" Distress Ink and inked up the inner piece of the tag.  Then I used the same ink and stamped some of the mini snowflakes from the Flourishes "Warm Winter Wishes" stamp collection all over my tag.

Then I took some Flourishes Classic White Cardstock and cut out a piece of cardstock for my skates.  I used  the fabulous new Snow Day SVG Cut File and cut it out. Then I took my skates stamp from the Snow Day stamp collection and stamped the image using Memento "Black Tuxedo" Ink.

I coloured in my skates using the following Copics Collections; W0, W1 and W2 from the Warm Neutrals Collection, G11 from the Green Grass Collection, and G40 and G43 form the Pistachio Collection.
