CREATE A SCENE!

I am waiting for the warm weather to fully arrive here in Alberta so I can enjoy the beach.  So I went beachy this week with my scene!

I used the adorable hula kitty from the “Beach Blanket Bingo” stamp set.  I used Yummy Yellow, Pumpkin Patch, Sparkling Sapphire, Purple Petunia and Purple Pansy inks to create my soft sunset glow.

Now to get the lights in the back ground, I used the tiny snowball from the “Reindeer Games” stamp set… I know… a snowball!

Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like! These must be new creations and you are welcome to use any stamp, however using a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp will earn you double entries! Holiday Inspired!

Hello and welcome to another fun Saturday Challenge over at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps
Our host with the most for this week is Krafty Guy, Stephen and his theme for you is…
HOLIDAY INSPIRED!

Today I chose to use the super fun and adorable “Shake It Up!” and the “Shake It Up – Polar Bears” stamp sets.  I love to create inactive cards as well so I decided to pull my Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel die out and have a go at it for today’s card.

For the sentiments, you can check out this MINI video showing each one.

The sentiments come from the following stamp sets:  “Polar Pals”, “Perky Penguins”, “Santa Paws” and “Eskimo Pals”. Yup... I used a lot of different stamp sets for this card!

Each and every Saturday we post a brand new challenge for the week and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like! Seaside Wishes

Happy Friday all!  I hope you have lots of crafty endeavors panned for the weekend.  Here in Canada it is the May 2-4 weekend so my son actually has today and Monday off of school.

Over at StampNation, I frequently participate in the PenPal card swap. You sign up and send a monthly-themed card to the address you are assigned.  This month we have 4 themes to choose from; one being a beach theme.  So I chose the seaside themed stamp from the “Under Glass” stamp set by Power Poppy.  I also so stamped out some smaller tropical leaves from the “Big Sexy Leaves” stamp set to add to the back ground.

This weekend, Marcella has another amazing Stamp Steal going on!  This weekend you can purchase the “Orchids Rock” and their digital counterparts, “Lady Slipper Orchid” and “Orchid Cascade”.  Happy shopping!

Now, join some of the Bloomies with some fun card creations…

Don’t forget to participate in this week’s Creative Confetti Challenge by Julie.  It’s an awesome one this week!

Thanks for joining me!  I hope you have a great weekend!

Pretty Purple Posies

Happy Thursday everyone!  If you don’t already know, purple is my very favourite color! I use purple whenever possible!

Today I’m sharing a card that totally captures my purple-lovin’ heart!

I used the new “Poignant Poppies” stamp set by Catherine Pooler Designs.  This is part of the “A Page in the Book” collection. This stamp set is a multi layering stamp set and creates the most amazing poppy flowers.  I chose to use Sweet Sixteen, Pixie Dust and Flirty Fuchsia CPD inks for this card.

For the back ground, I stamped the “Words from the Wizard” back ground stamp and then splattered on some diluted Pixie Dust ink.

I hope you’re having a great week!  I hope you have something crafty planned for this coming weekend… I know I do!  Happy creating!

Rainbow Missing You

Nothing is better than rainbow color!  So today’s card features the new Catherine Pooler Designs “Forest Foliage” stamp set and lots of color!

For my card, I used Tiara, Orange Twist, Rockin’ Red, Flirty Fuchsia, Fiesta Blue and Grass Skirt CPD inks on all the fun leaves from this stamp set.  Then I cut them out using their coordinating “Fluttering Friends Dies”.  That beautiful scripty sentiment is part of that very same stamp set.
For the newsprint type strip on the right, I used the “Black Jack” ink and the fun “F as in Back ground stamp.

TIP:  To create the leaves with a hint of scripty print on them, in my MISTI tool after stamping my images using colored inks, I then "kissed" a part of the "F as in..." stamp set to the leaf stamp before removing it from the MISTI lid and then pressing it down over the colored leaf. This technique is called "KISSING" for obvious reasons.... lol!

Hoping you continue to have a crafty week!

Storybook Collection: Masculine Cards

The whole Storybook Collection from Catherine Pooler Designs has many possibilities of making lots of great masculine cards.

Today I chose the “A Page from the Book” and the “Enchanted Forest” collections to work from.
First I took the leaf from the “Poignant Poppies” stamp set and used it like a fern.  I used the brand new “Lemongrass” ink and combined it with Green Tea and Eucalyptus inks to layer up the leaves.  Then I took the “F as in…” back ground stamp and proceeded to ink up just spots and stamp them over the leaves.

I stamped another leaf image on it’s own and die cut it with the coordinating “Poignant Poppies Dies” and added a “Have Courage Word Die” cut from Chocolate Cardstock.

For my second masculine card today I kept this card fairly simple.  Simple colours. Simple Design. Simple coloring.

I used the oak leaves and crested bird stamp from the “Fluttering Friends” stamp set and used their coordinating dies, “Fluttering Friends Dies”, to cut them out.

To color in my little red Cardinal inspired birdie, I used “Rockin’ Red “ and “Tutti Frutti” ink with my Blender pen to color him in.

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope this inspires you to create some wonderful masculine cards using the stamps, dies and inks!

Colour on Colour!

Happy Tuesday to you all!  I’m Allison Cope and I’m your hostess today for Inspire Me Monday over on the Power Poppy Blog this week.

Today I’m going to be heat embossing on coloured cardstock and then colouring in my images using Polychromos Pencils.  This technique is very easy and takes a relatively short time to colour.  I decided to use the beautiful “Peony Muse” stamp set for my images and then the “My English Rose” stamp set for my sentiment.

Come and join me at my crafty desk today for a fun and easy tutorial.
