Power Poppy: A Cheery Hello

Howdy all and Happy Friday!  I’m off on a fun camping trip with my Scouts this weekend.  We are going to our Great Escape Camp.  All the Scouts and the Venturers get to play a game out in a field all night and we as Scouters get to follow them around! Trust me… it’s much more fun than it sounds!  Wish me luck and not to step into any gopher holes!

So in honour of having fun, I decided to focus on some Power Poppy critters on my card today.  I chose all the critters and little stamps from the “Tree of Life” stamp set to use.  I created my own patterned paper!
They’re all so cute!  I just adore that little squirrel stamp from the set.  I coloured everything with Prismacolor Pencils and then used some Gamsol to help blend all the colours together on my cardstock.

I used the sentiment from the “Potted Primroses” collection too!  Here’s a close up…
Prismacolor Pencils: Chartreuse, Apple Green, Grass Green, Dark Green, Orange, Poppy Red, Crimson Red, Parma Violet, Mulberry, Sienna Brown, Tuscan Red, Dark Brown, Silver

Don’t forget to play along with our Power & Spark Challenge this month!

Marcy & Doug are Tying the Knot!

I am so excited to celebrate this wonderful event with two people who are so very dear to my heart… Doug & Marcy!  Tomorrow these two love birds are getting married and the whole Power Poppy family couldn’t be happier!

So to celebrate we’re sharing some fun wedding themed cards and wedding wishes for the happy couple!

I thought I would use the most appropriate stamp set to celebrate, our “Dream Wedding” stamp set for my card today.

I had a ball colouring up my image using some fun Prismacolor Pencils.

And before you go, one last little message for Marcella & Doug today…

The entire Power Poppy family has some shares and messages for you… check them out…

Congrats you two!  Have an amazing adventure tomorrow sharing in the glory of your love for one another.  Happy Wedding Day Marcella & Doug!

Lots of Love,
Ally.

Happy Heart Birthdays!

Happy Friday all!  I’m back at creating some fun fun cards featuring Power Poppy stamps again to share today.

I’m always finding that I am in need of birthday cards but never have enough so it was my aim to add a few to my stash.  So I pulled out the fun “Party Time” stamp set and a big heart die.

To start both of my cards, I die cut a large heart mask and placed it on my card bases.  Then I took my Ranger Distress Oxide inks and blended two colors of ink across both hearts.  Then I took some fun stamps and inked them across the heart’s surface.

After removing my mask, I splattered some water and also some ink on one back ground and then proceeded to add my coloured images and sentiments.
Copics: YG01, RV55, RV17, FV2

 Copics:  BG11, BG13, BG15, BG45, V04, RV17

I used the “Happy Wishes” from the “Simply Camellias” stamp set and I used the smaller circular plates "Artful Display" stamp set to create the abstract back ground.

Now check out what my fellow Bloomies have created for you to check out today showcasing all kinds of fun stamp sets…

Thanks again for joining me. I hope you have an amazing weekend!

A Blue & Kraft Christmas!

Yes… I said Christmas!  I’m not sure why but I just couldn’t resist stamping and colouring up a holiday card this week.  It was calling me to create something for the cold weather season.   I mean, it’s above 30 degrees here around Calgary and has been all summer.  Typically we get 1 or 2 hot days but not weeks at a time.  We’re praying for rain as the fires in Montana have crossed the border into lower Alberta and we still have many fires still burning away in British Columbia.

Now, let’s get on with the snow…. I mean… the show!

This week I decided to grab 2 fabulous holiday stamp sets, “Spice It Up” and “Heaven & Nature Sing” from Power Poppy.  These two stamp sets are sure to evoke all those smells of the holiday season.
I used my Ranger Distress Inks to create my blue blended back ground.  I used Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch and a little bit of Black Soot… add a few flicks of water and… Voila!

I used Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils to colour in my entire stamped image.  I just could resist going with some different colours for the holidays and chose blues and oranges to use.

Here’s some close ups of my detailed images…
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils: White, Spanish Orange, Yellowed Orange, Orange,
Poppy Red, True Green, Chartreuse, Apple Green, Grass Green, Olive Green, Dark Green,
True Blue, Ultramarine, Violet Blue, Indigo Blue, Sienna Brown, Black, Silver

I chose to feature stamping and colouring on kraft cardstock this week as this is what our September edition of the “Power & Spark Challenge” is all about.  To see all the details and to play along to WIN a $50 gift certificate to the Power Poppy Shop, click here.

Allison Copeyou are here!
