It's Saturday and I get to share a fun sketch and creation with you today! I was the lucky girl to get this beautiful sketch design by one of iTeam members over at WeScrap, Bev Code.
And here is the layout I created using the stunning "Tea Time" kit by WeScrap.
My Girl
Here's a few close ups of my details...
I love stitching... as you all know!!
I used my Klic N'Kut Design Studio to cut out my title...
I also used my cute little "Mini Pennants" stamp set from myStamp BOX to make my little row of banners!
I hope you'll join us over at WeScrap.com for Sketchy Saturday and MORE!!
An Anatomy of an Apple
It's time for another sketch... 'cause I just can't seem to get enough sketches this week! So Flourishes posted a sketch for this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge:
I took the sketch and just flipped it so the image and sentiment were on the opposite side but that's what a sketch is all about right? Here's my version of this week' sketch challenge...
Sweet Friend
supplies: stamps, Flourishes; cardstock, Gina K. Designs; Bazzill Smoothies; patterned paper, Crate Paper; inks, Versamark, Copic, Ranger, Memento; die cutting machine, Klic N'Kut; die cut shapes, Spellbinders; embossing powder, Stampendous!; other, thread.
I wanted to show you the anatomy of this card. You can click to enlarge the image below. For the white scalloped card base, I designed it on my Klic N'Kut cut so it folded like a card on one side. I also cut the concentric circles on my Klic N'Kut so they layered together properly.
I stamped the back ground apple image from Flourishes in Ranger green "Shabby Shudders" ink and then distress and stitched the edges.
My apple image was stamped on Gina K. Designs "Pure Luxury" cardstock with Memento ink. I coloured the image using my Copic markers and then used my Versamark ink and added my clear embossing powder to make the colours POP! To add one more piece of dimension, I flipped my embossed image over and used a stylus and embossed the apple, blossoms and leaves so they would appear more rounded and dimensional.
Hope you'll join in on the Flourishes blog this week!
Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #13
This week over at Scrapbooker's Paradise, we've got a GREAT challenge for you! This week, the lovely Dana is challenging everyone to SCORE their project this week!
Here is what I came up with this week...
Paperwhites
And just so you know how I incorporated scoring into my challenge, I thought I'd show you how I created my card this week...
First I started with a piece of smooth white cardstock cut to a 4.75 inch square.
Then using my Martha Stewart Scoring Board, made a border all around the edge of my square and then I made a grid pattern with my scoring lines 1 inch apart.
Next I stamped this gorgeous Flourishes "Paperwhites" image right over top of my de-bossed score lines. I always use my trusty Memento Rich Cocoa ink for a nice crisp image. See how the image doesn't touch the bottoms of the score lines...
Next I stamped the image again on some plain white printer paper, cut it out and sprayed it with some removable adhesive to create a mask.
I laid the mask right over top of the stamped image and then used some blue Post-It Notes to mask off the scored edge I created around my square. Then I stamped a script stamp right over top the mask and right to the edge of the scored square.
This is the result I got when I peeled off my mask...
I wanted to add some colour around my stamped image to make it pop, so I stuck my mask back over my image and used my Ranger Blending Tool and my Ranger Distress inks, Tumbled Glass, Walnut Stain and Bundled Sage.
For my final touch, I sanded the entire image to show off my score lines a little more and then added some fun die cut flourishes from the new Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Doily Accents set.
Our prize this week...
Fancy Pants Designs "To the Moon" brads, rub-ons and chipboard ~ Approx retail $20.00!
Take a moment or two and check out what my fellow Challenge Team members have created this week:

Sweets Times Three
Flourishes always has a monthly Christmas related challenge called The Christmas Spirit Challenge. This month's challenge is a sketch...
Here's what I did with the sketch this afternoon...
Sweet Christmas
Hope you're having a great Wednesday!

Sweet Christmas
supplies: stamps, Flourishes; papers, Making Memories; die cut shapes, Spellbinder's; inks, Memento, Copic, Ranger; ribbon, Micheal's; cardstock, Bazzill, Gina K. Designs.
I'd been racking my brain as to what Christmas image I wanted to use as my focal image and then came across this triple candy cane image on the "Sweets of the Season" stamp set and thought it would be perfect! I stamped it, coloured it and then fussy cut it out of cardstock. Before I adhered it down, I took my stylus and embossed the back of it to make it pop (can't really tell on my photo... sorry!)
Hope you're having a great Wednesday!

Beautiful Bouquet
I've been flipping through my Flourishes stamps all day trying to figure out what image I was going to use for this month's Bring Back Beautiful challenge over on the Flourishes blog. I did however, decide immediately that I wanted to use today's Mojo Monday sketch:
I finally settled on the large bouquet of flowers from the stamp set, Spring Bouquet. And here's how I combined the two challenges...
Spring Bouquet
Thanks for joining me today!

Spring Bouquet
supplies: stamps, Flourishes, Papertrey Ink; inks, Copic, Memento, Ranger; ribbon, Celebrate It; gems, Hero Arts; embossing folder, Cuttlebug; cardstock, Bazzill, Gina K. Designs; clear embossing powder, Stampendous!; edge punch, Fiskars; other, thread.
Here's a close up of my stamped image. I actually paper pieced it together to make the larger roses pop up out of the bouquet...
Thanks for joining me today!
Je T'aime... Daisies!
I just LOVE daisies! They are one of the first flowers we see pop up in our yard here in the mountains.
I finally took the plunge yesterday and became a Splitcoast Stamper Fan Club member. One of their challenges this month was to create 2 cards; one a simple card and then a second one where you make it stepped up!
So I started by creating my first card, a simple card; with just 2 simple stamps, a piece of ribbon and some flat gems.
Hello Daisies
supplies: cardstock, Gina K. Designs; stamps, Flourishes; patterned paper, My Mind's Eye; edge punch, Fiskars; inks, Memento, Copic; glaze pen, Sakura; other, thread.
This card has a little more detail... like more dimension. If you touch the coloured Black Eyed Susan like image, the centers of the flowers are raised! I embossed them from the back using a stylus and then glazed them with my Sakura Glaze pen.
I am thoroughly enjoying my creating time this week! I'm back to my desk again to create something more! Ta ta!

It's a Daffodil Kinda Day...
My lovely husband is sadly at work today even though it was supposed to be his day off so I chose to entertain myself with finding some fun challenges to get my mojo going this morning while our son plays outside.
First off, I found this delicious sketch for The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge blog. You can click the sketch to go directly to the post.
Then I thought... why not combine it with this week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge.... click the image below to go directly to the challenge posting...
... their challenge was to create using a colour palette of... aqua, brown and yellow...

Thanks for joining me this sunny Sunday morning. I hope you and your family are having a wonderful Easter Sunday!
Happy Easter!
This week the myStamp BOX design team got together and challenged each other to use PASTEL COLOURS on a project.
For my contribution, I chose to make an Easter themed card seeing that its Easter Weekend!
Easter Greetings
To create my card I first stamped 4 ovals from the Back to Basics stamp set. I used a pretty Spellbinder shape in the center of the card and used my Easter Greeting stamp from the Straightforward set.
To create the 2 pieces of checkerboard back ground paper, I used the checkerboard stamp from the new Graphic Borders set.
Here's a peek of the inside of my easel card...
Come on over and check out the rest of my fellow mSB team member creations here!
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend! I hope the Easter Bunny is good to you!
Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #12
It's FRIDAY!!! Happy Easter everyone!
This week's challenge over at the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog is a sketch... my favourite! This week's sketch was designed by Allison Fillo. She's actually provided us with a layout sketch...
and a card sketch!
I chose to create with the card sketch this week! And here's how I interpreted Allison's sketch...
Butterflies
Supplies:
cardstock: Bazzill White Striped Glazed, Bazzill White Cardstock, Bazzill Smoothies - Purple
embellies: Butterfly "Puffies" by KI Memories
doily: Little Yellow Bicycle
die cut: Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Doily Accents
pearls: Queen & Co.
mists: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists "Cosmos" & "Pashmina", Smooch Spritz "Mixed Berry"
edge punch: EK Success
other: thread, ribbon
Here's a close up of my card's detail...
I thought I'd also share how I made my background cardstock...
I first started with Bazzill Striped Glazed cardstock. Can you see the shiny lines across the paper?
I then took 2 colours of Glimmer Mist and a light purple Smooch Spritz (not shown) that corresponded to the colours of my KI Memories "Puffies" butterflies and misted my cardstock...
Then I took a paper towel and sopped up the excess mist and also buffed the embossed strips of the cardstock to make them pure white again...
I let it dry for a few minutes and then it was ready to use!! Such an easy technique and now I can make any kind of matching paper!!

Come on and out and play along with the Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge team this week and you could win Reminsice Western Stickers and chipboard from their new line retail valued at over $14.00!!!
