Timeless Tuesday ~ Go Green!

Hello everyone!  Happy Tuesday!  Welcome to another fabulous "Timeless Tuesday Challenge" with Flourishes.  With St. Patrick's Day just days away, our hostess Deborah Anton thought that creating a card or project using the colour green (FTTC211) would be perfect for this week's challenge.  And I agree!!  Here's my green creation for our challenge this week...

 An Irish Blessing
A began by creating my card base using Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock.  I die cut a variety of different shapes for layering too.

I then stamped the gorgeous Oxalis bouquet from the "Irish Blessings" stamp collection onto the same cardstock using Memento "Black Tuxedo" ink.  I backed my ornate lacy circle die cut using some beautiful "Primrose" ribbon from the "Sunflower" Color Made Easy collection.

I coloured my stamped image using the following Copic Collections
YG01, YG11, YG13, YG13, YG93, W-1 & W-2

I even decorated the inside of my card.  I stamped a variety of the clover images from the "Irish Blessings" stamp collection again.  I used the vibrant Memento ink, "Bamboo Leaves".  Even the inside greeting is from the fabulous "Irish Blessings" stamp set.

Thanks for joining me today. Come along and play with us this week!  Let's see a little GREEN on your cards and projects this week.  Link up your creations to the Flourishes blog for a chance at winning a little guilt free shopping!

Happy weekend everyone!  This week it was my turn to participate in the newest Let's Capture Our Memories sketch.  This week's sketch is a layout sketch by Isabelle Doucette!

And here's the layout I came up with this week using this fun sketch...

 Explore

I had a lot of fun with this layout. I began by pulling out a fun mask by Prima with the checkerboard format and misting it with Black Chalkboard Mist from Tattered Angels.I added some fun red Smooch mist and some orange Tattered Angels mist too!

Then I pulled out a whole bunch of stamps.  Like the fun bicycle stamps from Hero Arts and the cool "explore" and other word stamps from Technique Tuesday.

I designed and cut a really simple title banner using my Klic N'Kut machine and then I backed it with some super cool My Mind's Eye washi tape.  I used a LOT of fun washi tapes on this page!

The "day" stamps and the postage stamp stamps are from Hero Arts.

Come on out and play along with our Design Team for the month March!  Take a moment and check out what my fellow design team members have created with this sketch too!  Click here!

Timeless Tuesday ~ Cards with Cardboard

Howdy fellow stampers!  We have been enjoying the blustery winds of winter here in Southern Alberta for the last few days.  Typically, on a day like that, I'm hunkered down in my craftroom enjoying some stamping time.  I certainly enjoyed my time all day yesterday doing just that!  I hope where you are, you are safe and warm too!

Welcome to the first "Timeless Tuesday Challenge" at Flourishes for the month of March. Our hostess this week, the ever talented, Cindy Haffner, has challenged us to create a card or project using "embossing with cardboard" (FTTC210).  Basically, we want to see a project using cardboard.  If you don't have any cardboard, grab your crimper and use that on your card this week.  And if you don't have a crimper tool, we'd love to see some dry embossing!  Super simple right?

Blessings

I began my card creation this week by created a card base using Flourishes Classic Kraft Cardstock as my card base.  I then grabbed some Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock and I stamped the beautiful cross with lilies image from the "He Is Resin" stamp collection using Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink - my FAVOURITE ink!  I then coloured my image using coloured pencils and fussy cut it out.

I created my card front using multiple patterned papers, some ink and some thread and then I die cut out a window and framed with an ornate oval frame.  I backed the window using some super fun cardboard textured cardstock I found in my stash and I added my cross image to the front.

I finished off the card front using some cream coloured seam binding ribbon from the Color Made Easy - Rich Brown collection and some fun Kraft Jute to create a bow. I die cut a cute little tag from the Flourishes' Taylor -Made Classic Tag die set and stamped the greeting, "Blessings", from the NEW Flourishes stamp set, "Easter Wishes".  I finished off the bow with a fun 'crystal' coloured "Sparklet" from KaiserCraft.

I decided to finish off the inside of my card as well this week.  To match the front face of my card, I die cut another ornate oval from some Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock and I used the off cut from the front window of my card for a place for my stamped greeting.  For the greeting, I chose a verse from the NEW Flourishes stamp set, "Easter Wishes".  I added another single lily image from the "He Is Resin" stamp collection to bring in the lily theme again.

Thanks for joining me today. Come along and play with us this week!  Let's see a little cardboard (or crimping or dry embossing) on your cards and projects this week.  Link up your creations to the Flourishes blog for a chance at winning a little guilt free shopping!

PageMaps & Flourishes!

Flourishes has teamed up with PageMaps by Becky Fleck this month!  Some of the Flourishes team members have been given some gorgeous sketches by Becky to create with using our wonderful Flourishes images.

For my 7x5 card I knew I wanted to create a feminine birthday card for my mother-in-law.  Her birthday was the last week of February and I needed something spectacular!

Sketch by Becky Fleck; PageMaps.

To begin, I mimicked the scrolling edge design of Becky's card sketch and created a base for some stamping using my Klic N'Kut design software.  I cut it out of Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  Then I took some large Post-It notes and masked off the edges of the design so they would remain white and began stamping my roses from the "A Year In Flowers 2" stamp set with Memento "Black Tuxedo" ink.

I stamped roses over the entire surface and then coloured in the back ground using a combination of Copic markers; T1 & T2.
Then I took a sponge applicator and used some Copic Blender Solution and dabbed the entire surface.  I let the grey area dry and then I coloured my roses using Copic markers, R32 & R35 from the...

I removed the masking notes and created the remainder of my card.  And here she is...

Birthday Wishes
Just like the sketch, I added some fun charms to some pretty metallic string in silver.  I added my "Birthday Wishes" sentiment to the corner of the card from the "Winter Blossoms" stamp set.

Here's a close up of the charms and the coloured back ground...
The rectangular charm contains the word "Smile" from the "Tag Lines" stamp set.
