Love your cards! Best tip for a newbie is to start small to see what you will really use. Maybe try various inks to see what works best for you then concentrate on that line.

I love the bright colors of these cards--it does put a smile on my face! Thanks for participating!

The best tip I could give a newbie stamper is that you don't need it all at once. Start simple and use what you have before you buy it all. I don't like to color but prefer solid images and step-stamps that I can add dimension with. However, I see all those beautiful alcohol ink creations on the web and I have a collection (rather large!) of alcohol stamps that I never use! I wish I had spent more time perusing You Tube to see what style of stamping I really gravitated to and would have been buying supplies that way. I have over 200 ink pads and could definitely have done with a lot less. Start small and work up -- that is my best tip!

Hi! Beautiful cards! Thanks for sharing! For a newbie, I would remind them that mistakes don't matter, the recipient doesn't know what it "should have" looked like, just that it's beautiful and the thought is the most important.

I really love the colors you used in your cards. My favorite are the two cards you used the globes on. I like how you added other things to the globes other than "land".

Fun cards! I love the stenciled rainbow. I would say just to buy good paper, a nice set of inks that work for stamping and watercoloring, and a few basic stamp sets to start. Play around and see what you like before you jump in and buy all kinds of supplies you may never use.

That globe card took my breath away! Love the colors and the flip! They're all great! And a tip for a new stamper... when inking stamps, remember to tap not smash your stamp into the ink pad. You only need to ink the top of the stamp not the block. ;-)

Beautiful projects!!! My tip to a new stamper is to just have fun, and if it things don't turn out like you had hoped, try again, it's only paper :) Also, don't throw your project away, chances are if you put it aside and look at it later you might be pleasantly surprised at what you see! It's also fun to look back at old projects to see how much your style changes. (((hugs))) ~ Fleurette

Thanks for sharing these beautiful cards. I love the sparkle! My advice to a newbie is to keep things simple. One versatile stamp set and a few inks is all you need to get started. Love all of your cards. For a new stamper, start simple, a good set of versatile stamps with a good set of sentiments, and a few inks. Try several styles and colors, watch videos and remember every stamper started with nothing and had to practice.

Lisa said...

love that globe! beautiful cards - my best tip for a newbie is, you don't really need to have all the things in a collection right off the bat. You'll end up with ink colors you'll never use just taking up space, for example. Take the time to learn and develop your style so you'll know the product that are "collect all the things" worthy, lol.

Kerys said...

Gorgeous cards. love the pops of colors! My tip - have fun! x

Mcscrap said...

My best tip is to remember “it’s only paper”. My mother and I Always say this when we mess up. There is plenty more paper(card stock) in our stash to start over. Everything is not always going to be something that you like. Throw it out and start over. After all, it’s only paper.

Lori said...

I would say to watch videos and don't be afraid to try things.

Such colorful and happy cards. My advice would be don't think you have to go out and buy everything that you see the designers using. Buy the basics and start there. As you get better, start buying a few things at a time and practice. You don't have to have each watercolor set or alcohol markers you see. You will end up with a craftroom full of stash when you should be concentrating on learning.

Connie said...

Love your colorful cheery palettes on your cards!!! Use each item you have before you purchase something new and see if you can purchase a small amount of something in a category (i.e. ink, embossing powder, dies) of a certain brand because not all inks, embossing powders or dies are created equal. Thanks for the inspiration :)

Your cards are FAB, and so inspiring. I'd have to say that my tip to a newer stamper would be twofold. First, I highly suggest buying a Misti to help with placement, etc. The other tip I like to give new stampers is to be brave and to give things a try. I often need this advice myself. There are no "mistakes" that can't be fixed, and learning is half the fun. Thanks so much for your wonderful inspiration here today.

I'm not on the blog hop list, but I am participating as part of the Paper Sweeties DT if you'd like to stop by and see my project. Hope you're staying safe and healthy.

I love the glitter with the rainbow colors. I have only been stamping for a few years. The best tip - there are so many wonderful people that share their craft on youtube, in blogs, etc. Seek out the ones that give beginners the basics -- having someone explain the various inks, papers, types of stamps was very helpful. I live in a rural community and the internet was so helpful in getting started. Pin your finds to Pinterest!

Love your cards — I’m all about flowers and sequins now! Advice to a newbie... start out slowly. Find a stamp set you like, pick out several inks that would work well with the stamp set & “play!” Watch YouTube videos for techniques.

Teresa said...

Ooooooo, the rainbow card is sooooo pretty!!!

Laura Peddicord said...

All of your cards are terrific! Best tip for a newbie is to slowly make your purchases. Just because you see a technique or a stamp used on a beautiful card, does not mean there are additional ways to use them so they make cards in your style. There may be other ways they can be used but they may not be the way you want to make your cards.

Melanie said...

Beautiful cards! One tip I would suggest is to buy quality products that may have a higher price point such as heavy card stock because less is more when it is a better quality.
