Hi Ally, ooh i'm really loving this blog hop as im meeting lots of new fabulous crafters like yourself.
The 3 cards you have done are simply brilliant, i love the chevrons the best as its so different. {lucky for me i have a great chevron stencil} The tip's i would give a new stamper is to get a Misti and a good paper cutter. both i had big problems with when i first started, trying to cut my layers was near-on-impossible with a cheap trimmer, and i wasn't very good at stamping first time, i had to restamp and often this wasn't done great so that project had to be binned .

Andrea Shell said...

Beautiful cards! I love all of the sparkle and rainbow colors! The interactive nature of the globe is so cool!
My tip to a newbie stamper would be just to have fun! Play and practice and don't judge your work against more seasoned crafters.

Susan T said...

My BEST tip is to get the regular MISTI!! It truly is the most incredible stamping tool. Good black ink(one good for stamping clear images like versafine and one that is good for coloring images like alcohol markers or watercoloring), some good white card stock and a shammy to clean your stamps. (Lawn Fawn has an amazing one).

Sam B said...

My newbie tip would be: Set up a way to keep track of what you bought from day one... You'll be so glad you did!

Love your cards, most especially the rainbow one with the globe love it!

Love the globe card. My best tip would be to look at a lot of different styles of cards and stamps to see what you are draw to the most. Then pick one and start there. Then you can build up slowly as you learn and find what you like the best. You don't need everything. Oh and sketches help a lot.

best tip for a newbie: go to some classes so you can try supplies out. Try oxides before you buy the set. Get a few of each ink line - or try one - before you invest in all of them. Take a copic class before you buy $300 of markers.

Absolutely stunning cards!!! For newbies, my best tip is actually that we are our own worse critics. We judge ourselves so much quicker and more intense than others do. So try and try again and never be scared to think outside the box.

Wonderful cards! Love the globe! Starting with what you love & enjoy such as your favorite colors & a stamp set in your favorite thing ( like flowers or butterflies), will help you be successful, bring joy in your creating & encourage you to continue to learn about stamping.

These are lovely!

Robin M said...

I love these designs! The best advice for a new stamper would be to pace yourself. You don’t need to learn every technique and have every tool on day 1. Start simple and build your arsenal based on the things you enjoy doing.

Catherine Pooler inks are the best. Start with a few basic colors and just have fun! Love all your cards Ally.

Natalie said...

Love the cards, and just the right amount of sparkle

Hi Ally!
I love your choice of colors for your gorgeous cards!!! Thanks for sharing!
My first piece of advice to a new stamper is there are 2 sides to every piece of cardstock, meaning that if you make a mistake the first time, turn it over and try again.-Stacy

CJordan7496 said...

I really like the chevron rainbow! Your cards are awesome! Thank you for sharing!! I am kind of a newbie stamper/card maker. I've been trying for years to learn. My best advice would be to try something new at least once a month, don't be afraid of trying/playing around and don't get overwhelmed by all the information and cards out there. The world is big enough for everyone to create. :)

The best tip I can give a newbie stamper is to NOT compare your cards to your friend's who have been stamping "forever". Do your best and be proud of what you accomplish. Any card that comes from the heart is a great card!!!

Lauryne Cunningham said...

I love the bright colors on your cards! The advice I would give would be to start slow- buy a few products and try them, then build up. Don't buy everything all at once- too overwhelming!

AuntieM said...

Thanks for sharing your talent.

Germaine said...

Beautiful card! Thank you for supporting the this hop, and letting yoir customers know that they are important to you,
My newbie tip is to remember not to over specialize! Get a few solid images, like floral as an example, that can be used for a birthday, a thank you, a sympathy card, etc, etc. I can’t tell you the number of stamps I spent a lot of money on, but only used it once! Those are the ones people find at yard sales & Goodwill within a few years! Buy smart

Sophie Louise said...

Best tip would definitely be invest in a stamping platform, they are amazing! x

Anonymous said...

Holy wow, Allison! I don't think I can pick a favorite! Well the globe one is pretty neat, I pick that one! Love them all!

Billie Dee said...

Those colors are so WOW! (No pun intended).
My advice to a newbie is that you don't need a full set of ANYTHING. Try a few that you think you might actually use and go from there. Paints, markers, embossing powders - you don't need a full set of anything when you're starting out - and you may never need a full set. (Wish someone had told me that.)

Laurie2cats said...

Beautiful cards, I love the globe! My advice for a newbie stamper is to get a MISTI or one of the other stamping platforms. They may be expensive, but I was never happy with either the completeness of the stamped image or its position before I started using one.

Karthikha said...

Wonderful cards! The rainbow one is my fav of all :) My tip to a newbie stamper would be to take it slow, try out different techniques and practise stamping more :)

Allison I love this bright happy card! That Lovely stamp is one of my favorites :) My advice to newbie stampers is to not get overwhelmed! I"m helping a new stamper get going right now and she thinks she needs to have it all. But that's not the case. We can do great things with a few supplies and build as we go - month by month - sale by sale of these awesome stamp companies!

Diana M said...

Love the globe! I’ve seen that stamp set but now see it in a different light. My advice to newbies is to look at blogs and YouTube videos for ideas and then make cards that are your own.

Carol McCready said...

My best tip for a newbie stamper. Start with a few stamps and inks. Check out your local stamp store to see if they have a beginning stamping course. I love your cards. My favorite is that one with the globe.

Talitha said...

Love these cards. They are so bright and cheerful. And my tip for a new stamper: "Just do it! It's only paper." That's what someone told me when I first started stamping and card making. And that was a game changer. It let me know I didn't have to be perfect to start and that I could always find another piece of paper to try again.

Julie S. said...

Nice cards! LOVE that rainbow! Newbie advice, see about borrowing from friends if there is something you are not sure you would like.

jordanbev5@yahoo.com said...

Bright and beautiful cards by the way! The best tip I can give a new stamper is to use a tool called a MISTI. I know there are other things but it has improved my abilities tremendously and would highly recommend it over any of the competition out there! Spread love and joy!!

Krystin said...

I can’t decide which is my favorite; I love them all! 💖

Krystin said...

My best tip for a newbie stamper would be, “Don’t try to buy all the things all at once, scout out creative reuse stores to build up some stash basics, and augment your collection with your favorite designs from your favorite designers and companies.” When I first started I spent hours at creative reuse stores. This investment in time helped me collect my startup supplies in a way my budget could handle.

Sammy said...

Love these! so colourful and fun!

Teri S. said...

Such a colourful array of cards. Each one is wonderful & so different from the other. I really like the sparkly rainbow chevrons with the globe that opens. Such a cool idea that was & the verse inside is so applicable. My advice to a newbie: buy good quality cardstock; buy a good paper trimmer/cutter; buy a stamping platform; buy a good quality black ink that can be used for a variety of techniques; don't take yourself too seriously, after all, it's only paper. Took me a long time to learn that last piece of advice. :)

My best tip for a newbie stamper: Gather lots of inspiration from blogs, YouTube, Instagram, etc. But keep in mind that you don't need ALL of the things right away. Starting with a smaller toolbox can help avoid feeling overwhelmed.

Thank you for taking part in this amazing way to encourage staying at home. It's yet another example of why the crafting community is such a treasure.

Great cards! And I love the question!

I think the best tip I can give a newbie stamper is to only use brand stamps and no cheap knock offs. The fake knock off stamps are not only awful quality, but the designers of the original stamps are not getting paid for their hard work. That's just not ok.
