One of my best friends is celebrating her and her husband's 18th wedding anniversary and we've been invited to celebrate with them this coming weekend. I thought I would make her a special, personalized anniversary card to celebrate this occasion.
I began today's card by printing out this sweet little "Lemur Love" digital image from Mo Manning, from "Mo's Digital Pencil" and making an additional copy paper version for the inside of the circuit. I colored up the entire image using Copic Markers.
I adhered the copy paper version of the image to the inner surface where my paper circuit is going to be created. This allows me to very easily create the circuit and align all the lights with the proper areas.
Next I took my Craft Stencil and traced all the locations of my lights. The orange dots are the placement of my Orange LED Light Stickers and the red heart is the location of the new Animated LED Light Stickers; in this case it's the Heart-shaped Heartbeat Red LED Light Sticker being used.
Next I planned out the location of my 2 batteries (I like to use 2 but you really only need 1) and the positive and negative lines of my circuit. The blue lines indicate the negative side of the circuit and the red lines are the positive side.
Now I can lay down the Conductive Fabric Tape on the negative side of the circuit. This tape is very flexible and self adhesive. I always start on this part of the circuit first because I can start my tape under the battery housing before it's made.
Next I created a little house for my 2 batteries. To create the battery housing, I used some 3D foam to build 4 walls to hold the batteries tightly.
Next I used a slender piece of cardstock to create a flap to go over the batteries. I wrapped this piece of cardstock with the Fabric Conductive Tape to ensure that the tape makes contact with the top of the batteries. Then I proceeded to follow the red pen line and finish off the remainder of the positive side of the circuit.
The final step is to place the Orange LED Light Stickers in their spots and the Heart-shaped Heartbeat Red LED Sticker in it's spot. Each sticker is clearly labelled which side of the sticker is the negative side (-) versus the positive side (+).
To finish off the interior of the card, I added 3D foam around the parameter of the card. When I give an interactive card I always leave the circuit available to be accessed so for this card, I added some small magnets for the closure.
And volia! Just press the name of the lovely wedded couple on the front and all the lemur eyes light up and the heart behind them has a heartbeat red light effect...

Thanks for joining me today! I hope I’ve inspired you to light up your next card!
