Now I'd like to share my Spring inspired project with you!

I used all kinds of goodies from the January kit, "Wind Beneath My Wings".

To me, Spring is all about the beauty we see around us... and beautiful butterflies are just one part of that! So I grabbed the acrylic butterfly album from the kit and began to design something fun to hang in my front window to celebrate the coming of Spring.

I started with some personal alcohol inks and the butterfly acrylic album from the kit.

I first peeled off the protective clear sheets off of both sides of each acrylic page.

I then applied three colours, pink sherbet, eggplant and cranberry, of alcohol ink to my ink applicator.

I dabbed and blended the inks all over the surface of the acrylic piece.

Then I took my Ranger Archival jet black ink and inked up a leaf stamp (Papertrey Ink).

I applied my wet black ink right over the alcohol inked surface of the acrylic butterfly piece.

I stamped multiple times until I had covered my butterfly image to my liking.

Then I took a dry paper towel and carefully wiped the black ink off of the butterfly. The Ranger ink pulls the alcohol ink from the acrylic to leave a clear void of the stamped image.

See the end result of removing the black Archival ink.... Cool huh!!!

I then repeated the inking and stamping of all the butterfly pages; 6 in total. I then decorated each individual page with a letter from the word "Spring".

I used some purple ribbon from the kit to make some flowers. I also used some pink cardstock from the kit to make my letters and I also stamped some butterfly images (myStampBOX) on this cardstock as well.

Here is my end result... a "Spring" banner...

Hi Ally! What you did with the acrylic butterflies is simply amazing. I have never played with alcohol inks but you worked a magic. I'm guessing it's a chemical in different inks but still... Thank you for sharing a great idea. Love the spring banner :)
