Let In the Sun!

Hey everyone!  I thought I'd share another fabulous Flourishes card with you today since Flourishes has their Amazing Gambler's Sale on right now.  For sale details, you can click here.

Over at Splitcoaststampers, I was looking through the latest and greatest challenge this week and came across the newest colour challenge... CC463...

This week's colours are: Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, and Coastal Cabana.
They always have a fun "dessert" item too... this week it was to use "some kind of wood embellishment".

That's one divine colour palette!  So I grabbed my "Sunflowers" stamp set and went to town...

To begin, I used a piece of Classic White Cardstock and stamped a variety of the beautiful sunflower and leaf images from the "Sunflowers" stamp set using Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink. Then I cut the image on the diagonal creating a 2.5" strip down the center.

I took the 2 triangle shapes created and air brushed them with Copic BG11 and BG13.  Then I laid my Tim Holtz "Dot Fade" Layering Stencil over the two pieces and misted some Copic Blender Solution over them.  The blending solution basically pushed all the ink away leaving the dot pattern of ink.

Next I coloured all the images within the 2.5" strip of cardstock.  I used the "pointillism" colouring technique for my back ground.  For that I used the following Copic Markers:
BG11, BG13, BG34, E70, E71, E74, R24,
Y04, Y11, Y13, Y18, Y19, Y38, YG11 AND YR12.

My final touch was a quick sentiment stamped on a little wooden speech bubble and voila!  Thanks for joining me today.

The design for today's card was based on the latest sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!:

Don't forget about my two GIVEAWAYS...

Good luck!
