12 Weeks of Holiday Cards - Week 1

Welcome to Week 1 of my 12 Weeks of Holiday Cards!  Each Wednesday until Christmas, I will be sharing with you a fun and simple holiday card fit for a quick assembly.  I will share tips, tricks and techniques along the way.  So join me...

K.I.S.S.

K.I.S.S.... what's that stand for you ask?  Keep It Simple Silly!

Keep the design and front of your card SIMPLE.  Make it easy to replicate.

For instance, simply stamp an image and a greeting.  Colour in your image and VOILA... you have a simple card already to go!  No fuss... no muss!

For this card I used the "Joy is in the Air" stamp set by Flourishes.  This kind of card would be great to have your kids help create and colour.  A Grandparent, an Aunt or Uncle or a Dad would love a card made especially for them by someone super special!

Create another kind of SIMPLE card by stamping and colouring in an image on a separate piece of cardstock and then adding a fun punched edge in a striking colour and few embossed dots (using a Scor-Bug embossing tool).  It's simple and fun to add all your layers together.

For my card I used the "Naturally Merry" stamp set.  This set has beautiful sentiments you could add to the front or inside of your card too!  All of my images have been colouring using Copic Markers but you could use pencil crayons, Crayola markers, chalks or whatever you could find in your kid's art stash!

Both are gorgeous! I love the holly one the most. I did this one year with 12 days of Christmas. It was fun.
