Let's Celebrate! And an Announcement!

It's sketch time with Let's Capture These Sketches!

This is officially the last sketch of my term with LCTS. I've had an amazing term and can't tell you that all of the sketches from the blog have inspired some of my FAVOURITE layouts EVER!! I honestly have created some of my all time favourite creations using these ladies' sketches as a great starting base.

For our final sketch (#35) created by Ann, we also had the challenge to create using her sketch and incorporate a "celebration" type theme. For me, I'm celebrating... myself! I have taken the last 7 months to become a better me so therefore, I decided to celebrate ME! LOL!

K.I.S.S. Me!

K.I.S.S... Keep It Super Simple!

Yup... this week's challenge for My Favourite Things stamps is keep it super simple! So I did!

I literally stamped my little Pure Innocence "Better Get Better" girl, coloured her using my Copics, cut her out and adhered her to my simply made background using my Copic airbrush. The greeting is from the "Flower Girl" stamp set.

Yup! It's indeed a simple card!

Don't forget to check out the NSD crop at WeScrap tomorrow! We're giving away lots of prizes.. some for just chattin'! See you there!

A Touch of Vintage Wishes

This week's challenge for Timeless Tuesday over on the Flourishes blog is all about all things vintage!

So when I think of vintage, I think distressing and metal and for some reason, French vintage toile fabric.

Here is my card... a birthday card for a friend.

I used my new "Sweet Peas" stamp to create my background, along with a grid-type stamp from Glitz Design for added texture. I used the greeting from my "Sweet Violets" set.

That pretty lace is from Prima Marketing and I placed 2 pieces opposite to one another and then adhered a row of pearl "ribbon" down the center of the 2 pieces.

If you look closely, I created an embossed border and the stamped inside and outside of it using my new Martha Stewart scoring board. I like the fine embossed line it creates.

Thanks for checking out my blog today!

Don't forget....
WeScrap is celebrating NSD this Saturday! Hope to see you there!
Let's Capture Our Memories is also having a fun NSD crop on Saturday. You might want to check that out too!

Tomorrow's your last day to sign up for my April blog candy too! See here for details!

A Love Story...

It's Thursday... that means a new challenge for Creative Prompts 4U!

This week's challenge was given to us by Hanneke! Her challenge this week was to create a layout about a love story. A love story between partners... a pet... a friend... whatever kind of love story we wanted.

I chose to create a page about my husband and I. I even begged him to take new photos with me just for the layout... LOL!

Adore

supplies: patterned papers, stickers, rub-ons, Fancy Pants Designs; lace, flowers, Prima Marketing; chipboard heart, Scenic Route; Adore card, Jenni Bowlin; edge punch, EK Success; stamps, myStampBOX, Hero Arts; paint, Shimmerz; pin, Making Memories; ink, Memento.

The quote on the page says:

Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing
at each other but in looking outward
together in the same direction. ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Here are a few close ups of some of my layout details...

To create the heart, I used a Scenic Route heart shaped piece of chipboard, sprayed it with Turquoise Blue Glimmer Mist. Then I stamped a Hero Arts wood grain image on it and then stamped a fun image from my myStampBOX "Seal It!" set.

That "LOVE." is actually a fun rub-on from Fancy Pants Designs. Don't ya love all those gorgeous, shiny Prima flowers??

Come and join us for the month of May and create using any one of our fun challenges during the month. We're giving away a $20.00 gift certificate to ANY on-line store of your choosing!

Come and check out the rest of Creative Crew's layouts.... CP4U!

Good luck!

On the Hunt!

It's that time of the week... a new sketch from Let's Capture Our Sketches!

This week's sketch was designed by Guylaine and I just loved all of the overlapping details of it. You can see Guylaine's sketch here.

Here is my take on the sketch this week...

On the Hunt

I'm LCTS's sponsor this month, Kustom Die Kuts. I managed to use two dies. One new one just to be released... the layered tree and an older release called Picket Fence. I used the fun wood grained stamp from Hero Arts to add some detail to the white fencing and I cut the leafy part of the tree using some embossed BoBunny cardstock... love the end result!

The clouds in the sky and the date stamp are all stamps from myStampBOX. Two super fun stamp sets... "Wishing You Sunshine" and "Just a Note".

I hope you stop on by the sketch blog and check what my fellow sketch team members have creating using this sketch for you this week!

supplies: die cuts, (large layered tree, fence) Kustom Die Kuts; papers, stickers, alphabet letters, BoBunny; cardstock, Bazzill, BoBunny; stamps, myStampBOX, Hero Arts; ink, Ranger; journaling sticker, Adorn it!; pen, Creative Memories; other, thread.

Change it Up!

This week at Creative Prompts 4U we have a guest designer... one of my best friend's Tara Thynne!!

This week Tara gave us a great challenge... a challenge to take an embellishment and alter it and make it personalized.

Here is my layout...

Tech Boy

One of the embellishments I altered was a die cut paper wrench shape. You can (sort of ) see that I added some embossing powder to the shadows of the wrench and then I misted it to make it more metallic.

I altered a number of my paper die cut shapes... I used Glossy Accents on some, Glimmer Mist on others and even embossing powder too!

I used a number of fun myStampBOX stamps to create my layout. I used the "Royal Flush" alphabet for the "Tech" part of my title. I used some of the fun electronic looking stamps and nuts and bolts stamps from the "Programmed Robots" stamp set.

Come and join the CP4U Creative Crew for this month's challenges and have an opportunity to win a $25 gift certificate from myStampBOX. Good luck!

I also have BLOG CANDY this month up for grabs.... see here!

Mo' Challenges Today!

Yup... another challenge post today! I have been addicted to colouring with all my new Copics that I added to my growing collection last week.

Over at Mo's Challenge blog, this week is a fun sketch by Peggy. You can see the sketch here.

Here's my take on this week's challenge. I used the End of Summer stamp by Mo Manning made by Stampavie.

Pretty Girl

supplies: patterned papers, BasicGrey; cardstock, Bazzill; stamp, Stampavie; ink, Memento, Copic; flower, Hero Arts; pearls, Queen & Co.; edge punch, Martha Stewart; die cut shapes, Spellbinder's; other, thread, ribbon.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Rainy Day?

This week's challenge over on the My Favorite Things blog is April Shower! The challenge is...

Create a card using any MFT set that fits the April Showers theme

OR

Create a card using the layout I've used

OR

Create a custom embellishment

I chose to run with the theme of April showers. So my card this week is using the My Umbrella stamp from the Pure Innocence line. I also added the little doggy from the Done Gone Cute stamp set as well.

Rainy Day

I used some Glossy Accents to add some faux rain to her umbrella and her rain boots...

supplies: patterned papers, My Mind's Eye; cardstock, Bazzill; stamps, My Favorite Things; ink, Memento, Copic; die cut shapes, Spellbinder's; edge punch, Martha Stewart; other, Glossy Accents.

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Don't forget to check out my blog candy for April here!

Butterflies... Clearly Speaking!

It's Thursday! So it's time for another Creative Prompts 4U challenge!

This week Nicole and I decided to use a combined challenge. Nicole picked THIS beautiful piece of artwork and I chose to ask for something clear on your creation. See the actual challenge here.

Here is what I created using both of our creative prompts this week...

Dream

My background is completed made with Glimmer Mist, paint and stamps. I used my large 12x12 Fancy Pants stamps for the large and small flourished and the small butterfly. The 2 large butterflies and the words are all stamps from Gina K. Designs; Take Flight. I also used a Hero Arts script stamp and some fun new Teresa Collins, Shimmerz Paint colours.

Here's a close up of my little clear butterfly in the corner. It's held on with a Copic coloured staple.

This month we are giving away a $25 dollar gift certificate to myStampBOX! I hope you'll come and join us!

supplies: cardstock, Bazzill; stamps, Hero Arts, Gina K. Designs, Fancy Pants; inks, Copic, Ranger; paint, Shimmerz; mist, Tattered Angels; clear butterflies, Heidi Swapp; mica flakes, Melissa Frances; other, Glossy Accents by Ranger, thread, staples.

It's TWINCHIES Week!

Since finding some of my all time favourite Flourishes stamps in one of my favourite scrapbook stores in Calgary and Lethbridge, I have added a few more sets to my *cough* stamp collection. So I have been enjoying playing along with all the great challenges on the Flourishes blog.

This week's challenge is to create a card using a TWINCHIE on it. What's a twinchie you ask? It's a 2 by 2 square on your card... you know... just like an "inchie" (a 1 by 1 square) but double the dimension. Simple huh!

Here's my twinichie card for this week's challenge...

Thank You Mums
Here's a close up of my twinchie detail. I covered the entire twinchie with a few layers of UTEE.

supplies: stamps, Flourishes; edge punch, Martha Stewart; deco scissors, Fiskars; cardstock, Bazzill; patterned paper, Graphic 45; gems, dollar store; embossing folder, Cuttlebug; ink, Memento, Copic; other, ribbon, ribbon, UTEE.

Thanks for taking a peek at my card creation today!

Combo Card... Roaring Good Fun!

I have serious colouring addition! I will find ANY excuse to colour with my Copics nowadays so when I found these super cute digi stamps by Crissy Armstrong I picked up a few! Crissy has also has started her own challenge blog started using her images called Sundays with Crissy.

Her first challenge is to "Make it a Combo"; meaning combine it with something, use a colour combo, combine it with traditional stamps; basically combine two things together.

So I created a card that uses her sweet little lion pride image with this past week's Mojo Monday sketch, seen here. And here's my card...

Have a Great Day

Here's a close up off my furry pride and joy....

supplies: digital stamp, Squigglefly (Crissy Armstrong); greeting stamp, myStampBOX (Mention It!); patterned papers, BasicGrey; cardstock, Bazzill; ink, Memento, Copic; die cut ovals, Spellbinder's; tools, deco scissors, embossing folder by Cuttlebug, Copic airbrush; ribbon, Crate Paper; edge punch, Martha Stewart; other, thread.

Let's Capture These Sketches! (#32 & #31)

It's my turn to showcase a sketch on the Let's Capture These Sketches blog this week. I chose to make my sketch very linear with room for a few small photos (I love wallet sized photos!).

Here's this week's sketch:

I am infatuated with all things Crate Paper right now so I created almost my entire page using their "Paper Doll Collection" and few of my new myStampBOX stamps from the Bold Blocks stamp set (so cool!).

The Bracelet

I hid my journaling underneath the title block....

Make sure you check out what the rest of the LCTS team created using my sketch: Sketch #32.

With last week being a blur... I forgot to showcase my sketch layout using a sketch by Calia, here. For this month, we are featuring die cuts from my die cut company, Kustom Die Kuts. Here's the layout I created using the Leafy Branch die cuts in Lime Crush.

Outdoorsman

I used the beautiful Limited Edition Vintage Valentine's Day Kit from the WeScrap Shop for my layout! I just love all the glittery elements in this kit! This kit is ONLY $14.99! A real steal!!
