Introducing… Potted Primroses!

It’s Day 5 of our fabulous clear stamp reveal for Power Poppy!  Today is the final day of sneaks from the Bloom Brigade and all 5 stamp sets go on sale TOMORROW!  So jump on the creative bandwagon and grab some wonderful acrylic goodies tomorrow!

Today, we’re introducing… Potted Primroses!

This set has some of the happiest little Primrose posies for you!  Their happy little faces are just certain to brighten someone’s day.

For today’s card, I wanted to keep my card design fairly simple and really show off all those bright little Primrose blooms so I created a cluster of flowers on the top corner by masking my stamps and kept the bottom clean for my sentiment to pop.

For the finishing touches to my card, I added some clear sparkly sequins and also some Sakura Glaze pen to the sentiment and some of the flower centers.

Thanks for joining us today!  I hope you’ll return tomorrow for our final reveal Blog Hop.  The Bloom Brigaders will showing off some of their favourite creations using the 5 new stamp sets.   PLUS… all of those stamp sets will be official in the Power Poppy Store and available for purchase!

Now… off you go on a little floral adventure through all of the Bloom Brigade blogs…

Happy hopping!

It’s Day 3 of the Power Poppy February release and the Bloom Brigade has sprung to action today to introduce you to… “Short Stacks”!

This super cute stamp set is all about that balancing act we all ascertain in life!  It’s chalked full with all kinds of stacked items that you’re gunna love.  Isn't that little Budgy bird adorable?!?

I wanted my stackable image and sentiment to shine from the “Short Stacks” stamp set so I kept my card relatively simple today.  I pulled all of the colours I used right from the sweet floral paper.

I added some quick Sakura Glaze to the tiny hearts on the cupcake and also to the teal edges of the ribbon on the kraft wrapped present and the “gems” embedded in the pottery vase.

Now… off you go on a little stackable inspired hop through all of the Bloom Brigade blogs...

This fun and fabulous love inspired stamp set if jam packed FULL of amazing sentiments, hatchtags and cute little symbols of the heart!

For today’s card, I kinda went hog-wild using all kinds of fun die cuts.   To go with the theme of today’s stamp set, I used some hearts and some nontraditional colours:

I layered a series of leafy flourishes, and some fun patterned papers and ribbons to achieve this card.  I even added some shimmer and shine…

Introducing… Orchids Rock!

Welcome to Day 1 of our five day clear stamp reveal for Power Poppy!  For our first day, we are introducing you to… Orchids Rock!
http://powerpoppy.com/products/orchids-rock-stamp-set

This stamp set is packed full of gorgeously delicate exotic beauties for you to colour!  And it has a load of great sentiments too!  Perfect to rock someone's mailbox with... :)

Orchids Rock by Allison Cope for Power Poppy
For my card today, I had been dreaming about making a gradient back ground of  purples and reds and I knew the voluptuous Lady Slipper Orchid from this stunning stamp set would be the perfect for a back ground like this!

I die cut my oval and then used my Copic Airbrush System to create the fade of purple to the deep reds using V06, R35, R56.  I then coloured my stamped orchid using Copics as well, fussy cut it out, sculpted it with a ball stylus and then added it to the stitched on oval back ground using foam adhesive.

And here’s a close up of that popped up orchid…

A Peaceful Easy Rosy Feeling

Welcome back to another Friday with the Bloom Brigade from Power Poppy!  Like most Friday’s we are asking you to join in the fun and play along with our “Peep of the Week” challenge.  If you are new to our challenge… no worries!  Just check out the Power Poppy Blog for all the deets.

This month at Power Poppy we shared a brand new digital design team, known as our Instant Gardners!  These six extremely fabulous and uber talented ladies revealed the stunning “La Vie en Rose” digital stamp set and coordinating digital sentiments just in time for the month of Love coming up!  Today I thought I’d use the “La Vie en Rose” stamp set and combine it with a few of our fabulous clear stamp sets too!

I first created a piece of rosy art to print out onto cream coloured cardstock using my Photoshop program.  I wanted some roses on top of the taped love note and some below so I overlapped my roses to achieve this look.   Then I coloured my creation using Copic Markers.

I added the cute little stitched heart to my scrap of torn vellum from the  “Bough Wow Wow” stamp set.  Who said you couldn’t use Christmas themed stamp sets all year round?!?!

The beautiful sentiment is from the gorgeous “Lavender” stamp set.  I stamped it in Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I love that added touch of shine to accompany that shiny heart!

For this card I had used a black cardstock card base so I thought I’d finish off the inside of it as well so it could be easily written in inside.  I created another layered band of roses and then die cut out my printed sheet of cream cardstock and added some Copic colours to the back ground to match the front of the card.  And again, the gold sentiment is from the stunning “Lavender” stamp set.
I even die cut a banner to hold my card stamp on the back using some scraps of printed digital paper from the inside of my card.  There's just a hint of digital roses on it...

I really like how it turned out because I wasn’t 100% sure I was going to like it as I started to colour this.   Now… it’s time to check out what the rest of my fellow Bloomies have to share with you today!  Go on and check it out…

Moonlit Snowy Night

Howdy sketch lovers!  It’s my turn to share the sketch for Splitcoaststampers this week and I made it a relatively easy one for everyone this week.

Here it is, SC524…
And here is the card I created for it.  I rotated the sketch for my card design this week.  It features the stamp set “O Holy Night” by Power Poppy as it’s focal image.  I actually added a whole series of additional trees that the image doesn't have. I just masked them off and stamped them!

This card has a secret though… it has a hidden closure on it… look and see what I mean.  First you pull apart the white circle greeting from the blue circle greeting (they are magnetized!) and behind the vellum band closure is the secret opening…

Cute right?!?!  I thought so!

I also created this card with Merry Monday Christmas challenge in mind this week… “houses”!  I figured a church was a kind of house right... house of the Lord :)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my secret!  Hope you’ll play along with my sketch this week.

Robo Birthday

Today is the final day of a fabulous week over at StampNation celebrating our 4th birthday
We have one final challenge for you and this challenge is all about being a StampNation member. For this challenge you need to be inspired by a card from one of the StampNation Sistahs (or Brothah).

Here’s a little sneak peek of my SN exclusive card for this challenge…

So I browsed the SN gallery and I was drawn in by this beautiful card made by Gayatri:
http://www.thestampnation.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=20437&title=have-a-great-day&cat=500
Click for the Source
So that was my starting point.  I loved the bold back ground and the bright colours so that’s where I began my card.  On this card, I’m featuring the sweet stamp set from Verve called “Birthday Bots”.  Isn't he adorable?!?
On the SN video I mentioned my favourite kind of foam tape.  It can be purchased at Last Dollar Designs.  And the foam tape that I used is the 1/4" wide (1/16" thick) double sided foam tape.

I actually made a video on exactly how I made this card from start to finish… but it’s only for SN members… Maybe you need to be one?

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope you come and join SN, even just for 1 month!   Come check us out!   You don't wanna miss out on all the fun!!

Introducing… Le Vie en Rose & the Instant Gardners

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s been an exciting week for Power Poppy!  We just released a brand new digital stamp and accompanying sentiments yesterday along with introducing our newest Power Poppy designers, better known as the Instant Gardeners!  Make sure to check it all out on the Power Poppy Blog right here for more information.

Please take a moment and welcome the new Instant Gardeners
These lovely ladies will be revealing a new digital stamp to add to our Instant Garden Collection on the 15th of the month.  The Instant Garden Collection contains all of our beautiful digital blooms and their sentiments.

Now… here’s our latest and one of the most beautiful flowers in our Instant Garden Collection… it’s “Le Vie en Rose”!

I decided to stay super simple in my colouring today and just stick to black, white and grey tones for my creation.

First I actually created my own digital paper using the “I Love You” sentiment.  You can see it tucked behind the heart and rose.  I also included the second sentiment, “Be My Valentine Every Day”, tucked in the top of my heart die cut.

As you can see, I added some simple clear Wink of Stella for a little bit o sparkle on my roses.

Thanks for stopping in today!  Don’t forget to check out our Power Poppy Peep of the Week challenge going on all month long.  Here are are some ladies who would like to share some amazing creations with you this week… Take it away Bloomies!!!

Birthday Wishes & Penguin Kisses

StampNation 4th Birthday Bash
Welcome to Day 6 of our week long StampNation 4th Birthday Bash!  All week long the Dream Team is sharing some amazing birthday themed cards for everyone and anyone.

Today’s challenge is an EASY one!  Just create a card for ANYONE!  Yup… it can be for a girl or a boy, man or women, young or young at heart…. basically anything goes as long as it's a birthday card!!

For my card creations today, I’m featuring the amazing stamps from one of our sponsor companies, Whimsy Stamps!  I couldn’t resist their sweet little “Penguin Fun” stamp set to start.  Then I pulled in the “Scandi Christmas” and “Happy Everything” stamp sets to compliment my theme.
StampNation 4th Birthday Bash ~ Penguin Kisses by Allison Cope

Believe it or not but this is a ONE LAYER CARD.  Yup… I stamped everything on one single card base.  The only thing I added was a little pink paper bow on her head.

Included in the "Penguin Fun" stamp set is a sentiment "Warm Wishes & Penguin Kisses".  I chose to use only the "& penguin kisses" part of the sentiment.  To to replace the "Warm Wishes" part, I used the "birthday" and "wishes" from the "Happy Everything" stamp set to make it a birthday card.

I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the ground and to the “fireworks” above their heads!

Four Party Animals

StampNation's 4th Birthday Bash
If you just dropping in for the first time this week than you have reached Day 6 of our week long 4th Birthday Bash for StampNation!  This week we’re celebrating 4 fabulous years that StampNation has been around and Catherine and the Dream Team are sharing some awesome birthday creations all week.

Over at StampNation we are on our 6th day of challenges and today’s challenge is to create a birthday card featuring the number 4 ~ that is, create a card with multiples of 4 items on it:  4 brads, 4 window panes, 4 trees, etc.  You get the idea!

For my card today, I used 4 balloons, 4 bright colours (red, blue, yellow and green), 4 stars stamped in each colour and 4 stamped “Happy Birthday” greetings in 4 different colours!
StampNation's 4th Birthday Bash ~ 4 Party Animals by Allison Cope
My die cut balloons from the “Celebration Time” die from Simon Says Stamp! (SSS) each feature a different animal from the SSS “Birthday Farm Animals” stamp set. I used the balloon strings from the SSS “Celebrate Time” stamp set and all of the sentiments are from the fabulous SSS “Birthday Balloons”.

Here’s a quick close up of my floating critters and all the fun shimmer I added to my card.  Aren’t they cute?!?

I sure hope you will join us this week over at StampNation!  If you haven’t already joined, click the image below to find out more about it!  We’d love to see you there!

Nautical Birthdays

StampNation 4th Birthday Bash
Hello fellow StampNation fans! If you already weren’t aware, StampNation is celebrating their 4th birthday ALL week long with an awesome array of birthday related challenges.

This week’s challenge is all about creating a birthday themed card using a non-traditional birthday theme.  So no birthday cakes, no cupcakes, no balloons… you have to think outside of the box for this challenge this week.

For me, I am always in awe of the cool nautical birthday themed cards.  My hubby loves to sail so I made a card for him for this theme.  Here’s my sneak peek:
StampNation 4th Birthday Bash - Nautical Birthday Sneak Peek

You can see the whole card at StampNation!  You don’t want to miss out on it!

So I wanted to share another nautical themed card featuring one of our Birthday Bash sponsors, Verve and their “Strong Anchor” and “Small Packages” stamp sets and so here it is:
StampNation 4th Birthday Bash - Nautical Birthday by Allison Cope
It’s actually a ONE LAYER CARD!  Yup!

First I drew on the sketch design seen below using pencil and then inked it up using a Copic Multiliner pen for crisp corners and lines.  Then I masked (yup… that a LOT of masking!) off each separate area that I stamped or Copic airbrushed.  It took quite some time but I do like the end result!

Here's a closer look at one of the corners...

I used this week’s Splitcoaststampers new card sketch for this one:
