SWAK!

We had a fabulous sketch by my bestest bud Tara for our sketch for Capture These Sketches blog. You can see Tara's sketch here. Here is the layout I created with this sketch...

SWAK

The round die cut piece with the lips on it is a Kustom Die Kut called Circle of Lips. To bump it up a bit, I airbrushed the insides of the lips with my Copics to give them more dimension. I then added a couple spritzes of Glimmer Mist for a bit of shimmer.

I also used another Kustom Die Kut to create the cross hatched effect on the chipboard heart. I took the Diamond Fence die cut and laid it over my raw chipboard and then air brushed over it to get a masked design effect. So cool!

Thanks for stopping by!

I hope you will join me this weekend over at WeScrap! We're having a CROP and we're giving away a CRICUT machine to one lucky participant!

Having Fun with my Klic N'Kut!

My darling son had "Silly Hat Day" at pre-school yesterday so I spent all morning before his afternoon class making him a hat since we had no hats at all in the house other than your typical winter weather hat.

So I created this fun hat using my Klic N'Kut machine.

Everything was cut on my machine except the fun foam hat band and the blue cardstock for the water. I cut the dragon fly's wings using some vellum and added some fine glitter paint to the wings for some sheen.

Here's my cute little froggie fella.... I air brushed him with my Copics to make him look more dimensional plus I added some Glimmer Mist too! He was on a coil of wire so he actually bounced up and down just like a frog would... LOL!

He got many compliments from his friends, teachers and parents on his hat!

Hope you are inspired to get creating, maybe get a few of those festive holiday photographs scrapped, or create a page summarizing your 2009. Don’t forget you can rotate the sketch, substitute the 4 photographs for 2 (or however many you like!), just use the sketch to inspire you and most of all, have fun!!

Thanks for playing along and happy 2010 to you all!

Here is my creation using this week's sketch;

The Little Things

I actually rotated the sketch on it's side to use it as my inspiration. I also used some of the beautiful vinyl flowers from this month's sponsor, Creative Expressions.

Here are a few close ups of my page:

I used a LOT of Glimmer Mist on my edges... I love the Iridescent Gold colour!

I think I have a serious addiction to pearls and stitching! Can you tell?

I also used my Copic airbrush to darken some of my edges. Gotta love cool tools!

Thanks for joining in the fun! Make to hop along to the next designer for more sketchy inspiration.

supplies: patterned paper & tags, My Mind's Eye; die cut edge & flowers, Klic N'Kut; pearls, Prima; vinyl flowers, Creative Expressions; mists, Tattered Angels; ink, Copic; other, thread.

Love is All We Need

I am addicted to Glimmer Mist & my Copic air brush man! They are both like a drug for a scrapper!!!! I managed to use Glimmer Mist all over this page; two colours (Iridescent Gold & Caramel Apple).

Love is All We Need

See that pretty pink heart die cut paper??? That's a Kustom Die Kut product and you could have one too!

I also used the two sizes of Loop Flourish (KDKflourish01/02). I used the large one to mask with and the small flourish to add a touch of dark brown on my image.

I backed the circle edge of my die cut with some fun Copic coloured ribbon. I love the way it peaks out from behind the hearts. I also Glimmer Misted the heart die cut with Iridescent Gold and added some simple stitching. I love the end result!

Thanks for checking out my blog today!

Let There be Flowers!

For the card challenge this week over on the LCOM blog, Cindy gave us a great challenge to create a flower embellishment of our own and use it on a card.

For my card, I cut out a pretty die cut back ground and then used some of the die cut shapes to create my flowers. I used my Copic airbrush to colour them.

supplies: die cut paper, Kustom Die Kuts; cardstock, Bazzill Smoothies; ink, Copic; embossing powder, Hero Arts; die cut circles, Spellbinder's; stamp, Papertrey Ink; embossing folder, Cuttlebug; pearls, Kaiser; tool, Scor-Pal.

Here's a close up for my die cut details....

I even decorated the inside of my card to match the outside.

Here's a close up...

I hope you will check out what the rest of the Card Team did on the LCOM blog today!

Don't forget that the LCOM Sketch Team will be having a Blog Hop this Friday! Join us on the Let's Capture these Sketches blog at 7pm EST.

I also have a VERY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT coming up!!!! Stay tuned. I will be doing my BIG reveal in the next few days! Pssst... I've already left a clue somewhere in this post! LOL!
