Here is what I did with my MYSTERY BOX

I began with an idea of creating a little box that my son could have in the back seat of the Jeep that he could have a few car type games in. So this is what I came up with....

Car Fun Box

TOP
Stamp sets used: Graphic Borders, Splash Me a Little! alphabets, Neighborhoods)

FRONT

BACK

Then once my box was decorated, I decided to create a few things to put inside.

First I came up with a fun magnetic alphabet board. I took piece of adhesive magnetic paper and applied a sheet of copy paper to its sticky side. Then I stamped the checkerboard edges using the Graphic Borders stamp set. I ten stamped all of my alphabets from the Royal Flush alphabet set. I made duplicates of some of the vowels and some of the more common other letters like "S" & "T".

Next I wanted to come up with a "car bingo" concept so I designed a VERY SIMPLE bingo card that would fit inside my box. "Spencer" is my son's name so that's why it says "Spencer's Car Bingo" on it.

This is where you get to interpret the blocks. Here's just a few ideas for the card above...
  • K - find something that begins with "K"
  • 3 cars - find 3 of something
  • cone - find something you can eat
  • leaf - find something green
  • girl - find a woman or girl
  • J - find something that starts "J"
  • hearts - find a heart shape
  • phone - find a phone
Here's a second bingo card...

Here's how I might interpret this next card...
  • cat - find some kind of animal
  • coffee - find something you drink
  • house - find a white house
  • boat - find something that floats
  • leaf - find something that grows
  • hearts - find 3 of something the same
  • 2 girls - find 2 girls together
  • W - find something that starts with "W"
I hope you have enjoyed my little box of creativity today!

I am the FINAL Mystery Box designer for today.

I sure hope you have enjoyed all the amazing BOX inspiration that the myStamp BOX designers have created for you this weekend! Don’t forget to leave a comment below for a chance to WIN one of our MYSTERY BOX giveaway!

Yippee! It's Friday and another fabulous Playing in Paradise challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise!

This week's it's Carla's turn to pick a challenge and she chose a GOOD one! This week we are to use 3 items on our creations: stamps, cardstock and punches!

Here's the card I creating using the 3 items on Carla's list:

Best Wishes Roses

supplies: stamps, Flourishes; cardstock, Bazzill, Gina K. Designs; ink, Versamark Dazzle, Memento, Copics; punches, Fiskars, Martha Stewart.
For my card this week I started by making some cool striped cardstock strips using all kinds of coloured Bazzill cardstock (Frosted Amethyst, Grenadine, Princess, Pansy Purple, Crimson Red).

I created two punched elements to add to my cardstock block using the Fiskars' "Apron Lace" edge punch and another Martha Stewart edge punch.

The stamps I chose to use are the "Lenten Rose" stamp set from Flourishes and also the "Orchids" set for the sentiment. I used my favourite ink by Tsukineko, Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp my image. I coloured my image using a variety of Copic markers.

Come and check out what my fellow Challenge Team members have created with this week's challenge:

Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #19

Yippee! It's Friday and time for another fun Playing in Paradise challenge over at Scrapbooker's Paradise!

I'm your lucky challenge hostess this week and so I thought I'd inspire you with a little PURSE-inality today! LOL!

This week's challenge is to take inspiration from the 4 purses below. You can be inspired by their colour, their shapes, their embellishments... whatever inspires you from my image!

For my card this week, I chose to be inspired by the purses themselves. I went ahead and designed a similar purse shape from the image above and created a little purse to go on the front of my card...

Purse Card

I started off my easel card using some beautiful and rich Bazzill Nightmist Blue cardstock as the base for all my card parts.

I chose to use the beautiful Stella and Rose collection from My Mind's Eye for my card. I used the Hattie Happy Bouquet, Hattie Happy Polka Dots, Mabel Love Letters and Hazel Fancy Lots of Dots; all from the Stella and Rose collection.

The little purse I created for my card even open to reveal a place for a fun message or maybe even a place to attach a gift card. To allow the purse to remain closed, I used some BasicGrey Magnetic Snaps (small). They work perfectly to keep the flap closed. I just adhered one under the flower and one to th front of the purse.

I finished my easel card off with some Kaiser Craft lace trim in cream and decorated the inside of the card to match the outside.

Come and check out what my fellow Challenge Team members have created with this week's challenge:

Our prize this week for our challenge winner is a fabulous array of scrappy goodies from Moxxie. The prize pack includes: It's Your Day Cardstock Stickers, it's Your Day Combo Stickers, Ready To Roll Rub On, Make Wish Rub On, 2 6x6 Die Cut Packs. This week's prize retails for approximately $25.00!!!

How to Play:
  • You have until noon on Thursday, June 16th to link your entries for this challenge below.

Bright Skies Reveal

It's reveal time for WeScrap's newest kit, Bright Skies!

This kit is jammed packed full of fun double sided patterned papers, deliciously bright cardstock and all kinds of wonderful alphabets and stickers! And it's only...

$19.99!!

Come and check it out at our WeScrap Kits shop.

Now on to the layouts I created using this fabulous kit...

Call Me MR.
I had fun creating this patchwork of patterned paper pieces to use as my focal area of my layout...

My Fav Foods
I used my "Lots of Numbers" stamps from myStamp BOX to create little journaling tags to list my top 6 favourite foods. I added some Stickles by Ranger to mimic the glitter on the kit's alphabet stickers.
Sleeping Handsome

My layout title is a knock off of "Sleeping Beauty".

I took a running stitch along the length of a piece of ribbon and pulled on string to create my ruffled ribbon detail. I adhered using a length of Scor-Pal tape to secure it to my layout.

Discovery

I used a quilting technique that my Mom taught me many moons ago on this layout called "stitching in the ditch"; this is where you literally stitch in the area where your two fabrics, or papers in my case, meet.

Five

Adding a cluster of elements can draw your eye into a layout. In this case, I used a cluster of stickers, buttons and other round elements together; all items in this fabulous kit.

Come on out and check out what the rest of the WeScrap iTeam created with this month's kit. You can view the "Bright Skies" gallery here. Have a great Tuesday everyone!
