Scrap 'N Stamp ~ Manly Masterpieces Hop *PRIZE*

Welcome to the Scrap 'N Stamp Manly Masterpieces Blog Hop!

Today's card features the very dapper Lavinia "Small Compass" stamp set!  My husband is a sailor and so I'm always attracted to things that are sailing related.  Of course, a compass is used in other ways like orienteering (ask me how I know... Scout Leader here!)

So I started out my card by created a background.  For my background, I stamped the compass image in random spots all over the watercolor paper.  Then I applied some light washes of several Catherine Pooler Designs inks including, Tranquil, Cove Blue and Mardi Gras.

I also used the All & Create "Cascading Dots #173" stencil to add some random dots on my grungy background.

For the finishing touches, I used the Happy Birthday die from one of my favorite stamp & dies sets, the Hero Arts "Stamp & Cut XL - Birthday" set using some Prism Studio "Solar White" and "Iris" cardstock.  I adhered them both together with a slight offset so the white sentiment would break up the sentiment from the card base.

Lastly, I added a heat embossed compass image on a piece of vellum just below the sentiment.  It's a little more texture to the card with the vellum and the raised embossed image.

We also have some shop SALES to go along with our fun theme. Check out the SALES for this event!

Sweet November Stamps ~ Any Fin is Possible!

Happy Tuesday!  Today I'm sharing some more mermaid fun with you!

I started my card by stamping curly hairy beauty from the "Any Fin is Possible" stamp set from Sweet November Stamps in Memento "Tuxedo Black" ink. I decided this time after coloring her using Copic Markers that I would fussy cut her out and pop her up on my card front.

For her sea scene, I first masked off a jagged edge using some masking tape and then I stamped a series of fish and sea creatures from the "Something's Fishy" stamp set among those jagged lines.  I stamped each fish again on masking paper, fussy cut them out, applied the masks and used my Copic Air Brush to spray blue ink over top of the whole scene.

I removed all of the critter masks and the jagged edge masks and colored in my creatures with Copic Markers.

I adhered our little mermaid using some 3D foam and then stamped the fun sentiment in using CP Fiesta Blue ink.

To add the finishing touch, I used a Copic Blender pen to add some bubbles to the water.

And a simple card was born!

Hope you have a fin-tastic day!

Pink & Main ~ ConGRADulations! plus a GIVEAWAY!

Happy Monday!  Here in Alberta, lots of Grade 12 students are getting ready to attend graduation.  My 18 year old son graduated last year and sadly he refused to attend his ceremony so I never got to see him walk the stage to receive his diploma.

As a guest designer for Pink & Main this month, I was gifted a whole box full of goodies to create with and that included the adorable "Way To Go Owls".

To start my card though, I actually used a leftover of a previous card.  I had foiled one the cool "In The Stars Foilables" for another card and I had the clear leftovers from the foiling process using the cool "Diamond-Plated CheerFoils".  I knew I wanted to use this leftover piece - I could have used it with the "White Toner Sheets" to apply the design to a white surface but I didn't have any.  Instead, I laid the clear sheet over top of an ink blended piece of cardstock and attached it to a simple frame.

Next I stamped two of the adorable little owls with their hats flying off their heads.  I colored them up with Copic Markers and die cut them out with the "Way To Go Owl Dies".

This card was SO much FUN to create!

HOW TO WIN:

Now... since I do not have any occasion to use this card, if you would like this card please leave a comment below with the word "GRAD" in it. Please leave your email in your comment so I have a way to contact you.  I will chose a winner on Friday June 7th.

Have a great rest of the week!

Sweet November Stamps ~ Treat Yo' Self

Happy first day of June!  Today I'm sharing some summer fun with you!

I started my card by stamping little Miss "Quinn" from Sweet November Stamps in Memento "Rich Cocoa" ink.  Sometimes when I slightly lighter image, I use a brown ink instead of a black ink.

I laid down a soft brown ink and added some dips to sandy surface.  I used a variety of light blue inks and blended them for a smooth sky.

For the water, I used some mid tone blue Copic colors using lines to mimic waves.

I thought she needed some fun summer colorful hair too and a cute bathing suit.

Hope you have a great weekend!
