Catherine Pooler ~ Storybook Collection Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs “Storybook Collection” Blog Hop!

Today we reveal a whole collection of beautiful blooms, furry creatures and beautiful storybook quotes.  Each of the stamps, inks and dies today can be purchased in small bundles; the “Enchanted Forest Bundle”, “A Page From the Book Bundle” and the “Father’s Day Bundle”, plus a “I Want It All!” bundle and also individually.

For my first card share I was thrilled to see more fabulous “coloring-in” images from Catherine and her artists. The little crest on the top of the little bird from the “Fluttering Friends” stamp set just said “Blue Jay” to me so I looked up how a Blue Jay’s feathers looked and away I went with all my luscious CPD blue inks… It’s a Boy and Something Borrowed.  I die cut it out using our coordinating dies, the “Fluttering Friends Dies”.

For my back ground, I used the open branch of berries also from the “Fluttering Friends” stamp set and some Midnight ink to create a simple black and white pattern.  For a tiny added touch, I took the “F as in” back ground stamp and using some light Twilight ink and added subtle touches of text in the back ground too (I love doing this with script back ground stamps!).

For my second card I knew I just had to create a soft, almost glowing Poppy card.  So I took my water color paper and spritzed it lightly with water and then stamped the glorious “Poignant Poppies” using Tiki Torch, Orange Twist and Tutti Frutti inks. Then I stamped all the layered leaves and stem using beautiful Aquatini and Spruce ink.  This stamp set is a wondrous multiple layering stamp set and makes the most amazingly detailed blooms!

To get the faint hint of script in the back, I loaded my “Words From the Wizard” back ground stamp into my MISTI tool and just touched my orange inks to just the spots in and around my Poppy flower.  And of course, to create a coordinating color panel to wrap around my bloom, I used direct ink pad to paper to create a matching color frame using Mardi Gras ink.

Don’t forget to check out our new inks too!  This bundle of four new colors called Urban Oasis includes: Rouge, Lemongrass, Sage and Queen for a Day.  All four inks are part of the Spa Collection of inks. PLUS… if you check the store, some of the ink bundles are on SALE right now!  Woohoo!
