My flat shaker card today features the adorable "Spaced Out" clear stamp set by Heffy Doodle.

Today I began my space themed card by stamping out and coloring in my sweet little starry galaxy scene that I created. I also stamped a copy on the inside of the card panel for preparing my circuit.

I masked off all the planets, stars, rocket ship and astronaut and applied a variety of fun Distress Oxide inks to make a blended colorful galaxy background. I also added a splatter of white paint before peeling away all of my masks.

Next I mapped out my circuit on the inside panel and applied a black cardstock mask on the back of the rocket image. This mask doesn't allow any light to pass through it and allows the light with in the ship's window to shine through. To create the sticker shapes, I used the stencil from the "Craft Effect Sticker & Stencil" set.

Next I laid down the "Conductive Fabric Tape" for the negative side of the circuit. I always start my tape under the battery area so my circuit begins with contact on the underside of my batteries.

Then I lay down the tape for the positive side of the circuit. Then I created the housing for my batteries to stay in.  I created a flap of acetate (you can use anything non-cuductive for this) and wrapped my "Conductive Fabric Tape"around that flap so it touches the top of the batteries.

Then I continue laying down the remainder of the positive side of the circuit's "Conductive Fabric Tape to complete the curcuit.  Next I apply all of my light stickers. In this case I used all White LED Light Stickers from the "White Megapack" of stickers.

And the circuit is now complete!

To make it a shaker card, next I added a thin plastic sheet over top, taped 3 sides of the plastic down first (on the underside of the panel), added some simple star sequins inside the plastic and then sealing it all up on the fourth and final side.

I added some strong magnets to the inside of the circuit and the card front panel so I can access the circuit.

Here's the completed card all lit up...

Here's a quick video showing everything in action...

Have a great rest of the week!

Scrap n' Stamp - Tea for Two Hop!

Happy Friday all!  Today I'm hopping along with a wonderful gaggle of girls over at Scrap n' Stamp!

Our theme today is "Tea for Two"!

I was searching through the shop and came across this darlin' "Oh Crumb" stamp set by Heffy Doddle and decided to pair it with the super sweet new Doodlebug Designs "Let It Snow" 6x6 patterned papers.

I stamped out all the adorable little corgis and their tea party accessories using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in using my Copic Markers.

Doesn't that little Cori tooshie just make you giggle???

I also added some fun Studio Katia "Silver Fever Confetti" for a splash of glitz and shine.

This is not my official hop post so you'll have to check out my Instagram account right HERE.

Hope you'll check out all the tea themed fun!

Heffy Doodle & Catherine Pooler Blog Hop ~ Comment to Win!

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler Designs Collaboration Blog Hop!
Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies!

I can't tell you how much I love to create interactive cards so when Heffy Doodle and Catherine Pooler decided to do a collab, I was SO super excited!

For my card share today, I created this fun Shadow Box card!

I began my card by die cutting two white cardstock card bases using the Heffy Doodle "Big Shadow Box Die".  I also used the stitched square die to cut out the window from one side of a single panel.   I then used the Over Coffee ink to stamp the "Good Vibes Border" (sorry, I didn't realize it had been retired) image all over the front of both card base panels.

For easy repeat stamping, check out this video below.  I have some great tips on how to stamp a background with ease!

VIDEO: Tips & Tricks to Creating a Repeating Background

On the backside of the large square panel (without the window), I used my blender brushes and created a cool sunset sky using Be Mine, Tiki Torch and Tiara inks.

Then I die cut 2 of the landscape shaped pieces from the Heffy "Big Shadow Box" die.  I used Clay Mask and Sand Castle inks to created a beachy feel to the first landscape.  For the second landscape, I used the grassy border die to cut the edge and then inked it up with Lime Rickey ink.

Next I stamped bird & floral images from the "Toucan Do It" stamp set in Midnight ink and colored them using Copic Markers.  I also stamped some greenery from the "Tropically Yours" stamp set using Garden Party and sponged Lime Rickey inks.  Two fun palm trees from the "Fearless Pursuit Dies" were also cut out and I free-hand drew in palm trees using Copic Markers for those.  Yes... you can always use your dies alone with out using the coordinating stamps!

Next came assembly time!  I first taped the 2 Big Shadow Box panels together leaving the front glue strip unattached.  Then I laid in my landscape pieces; sandy landscape towards the back and the grassy landscape towards the front.  I also ended up die cutting another landscape piece and trimming it and inking it up to match the pink of the sunset to hang some greenery & my toucan from.  I carefully attached my palm trees to the sandy beach, then my toucan hanging upside down using a piece of clear acetate and then added all the rest of my greenery and flowers.  I also used acetate to help attach my Cockatoo bird as well.

And of course, you can't forget a place to write a message to your recipient!  I used the stitched piece of cardstock from cutting out the front window and mounted it to a fun piece of pink patterned paper from the "Be Mine Prints" 6x6 paper pack and added a fun sentiment from the "Toucan Do It" stamp set.

Now... the good stuff!

The Winter Trio Hop

Howdy and Happy Thursday everyone!

Today some of the Catherine Pooler Designs Ambassadors have teamed up with Heffy Doodle and WOW! Embossing to share some amazing projects using a little bit of each company today!

You are going to have a blast looking at all the amazing projects so make sure to leave a COMMENT TO WIN on each blog for your chance to win some crafty goodies for our three generous companies!

I made 3 cards to share today... let's go!

I love the adorable penguins in the Heffy Doodle "Wanna Build a Snowman" stamp set so I paired him up with the cute Christmas tree and the fun "Alpine Village" stamp set from Catherine Pooler.  I loved the "Metalline Kiwi Krush" Embossing Powder from WOW!.  It has this little bit of copper sparkle in it... yum!!

For my second card, I wanted to use a monochromatic color scheme.  That beautiful church stamp is also included in the "Alpine Villages" from CP.  I did some selective stamping and used some "Mint Macaroon" Embossing Powder from WOW! to make the church shiny.  The snow, snowman and sentiment is from the fantastic "First Snow Stencil" and "Wanna Build a Snowman" stamp set from Heffy Doodle.

For my third card, I couldn't help but make a shaker card!

Here is a little peek inside!  I fussy cut out all the fun pieces to build a snowman and added them inside my shaker.  I even added some fun googley eyes to my snowman heads!

I hope I've inspired you today!  Now check out the rest of talent today...
