Introducing... Old Tea Rose!

Welcome to Day 2 of Flourishes Sneak Peeks for May!   Those April showers have brought May flowers and we're bringing a beautiful flower to you today too, it's a brand new set from a brand new illustrator for Flourishes!  We'd like to introduce...

It's a gorgeous new set that celebrates the majestic rose.  Artistically drawn by our new artist Sam Pickard, this old tea rose just begs to be colored with style. Well I'm honoured to be joining the Senior Design Team this week to showcase all the stunning new may stamp releases! And today we're showing off the new "Old Tea Rose" stamp set...

Tea Rose

I began by making a card base using the Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock and an inner mat using the "Tangy Taffy" colour of the Candy Pink Cardstock pack.  Then I created a back ground from the Flourishes Classic Kraft Cardstock.  I took some Memento "Desert Sand" ink and stamped some leaves and butterflies all over the kraft.

Next I cut a diagonal piece of Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock and stamped my tea rose and rose hip images from the Old Tea Rose stamp set using Memento "Desert Sand" ink again.  I began to colour...

For my image I used the following Copic Collections:
I used my Copic airbrush with my Copic Sketch markers with the brush tips in to create the "splatter" around my rose.  I love using this technique!  I even stamped a few of the lovely sentiments using the Memento "Desert Sand" ink in the back ground.

And here's a little peek at the inside of my card.  I tried to match some of the details of the front of my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to comment for your chance to WIN the entire May release!

Don't forget to play along with our Timeless Tuesday Challenge this week OR our Pre-Release Challenge to WIN some STAMPS!
