It's FRIDAY!!! Happy Easter everyone!
This week's challenge over at the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog is a sketch... my favourite! This week's sketch was designed by Allison Fillo. She's actually provided us with a layout sketch...
and a card sketch!
I chose to create with the card sketch this week! And here's how I interpreted Allison's sketch...
Butterflies
Supplies:
cardstock: Bazzill White Striped Glazed, Bazzill White Cardstock, Bazzill Smoothies - Purple
embellies: Butterfly "Puffies" by KI Memories
doily: Little Yellow Bicycle
die cut: Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Doily Accents
pearls: Queen & Co.
mists: Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists "Cosmos" & "Pashmina", Smooch Spritz "Mixed Berry"
edge punch: EK Success
other: thread, ribbon
Here's a close up of my card's detail...
I thought I'd also share how I made my background cardstock...
I first started with Bazzill Striped Glazed cardstock. Can you see the shiny lines across the paper?
I then took 2 colours of Glimmer Mist and a light purple Smooch Spritz (not shown) that corresponded to the colours of my KI Memories "Puffies" butterflies and misted my cardstock...
Then I took a paper towel and sopped up the excess mist and also buffed the embossed strips of the cardstock to make them pure white again...
I let it dry for a few minutes and then it was ready to use!! Such an easy technique and now I can make any kind of matching paper!!
