Welcome... The Bloom Brigade!

Howdy all!  I am truly blessed to have joined all of these lovely ladies you see below.  My home-body picture is located in the lower right hand corner... I'm a creature of comfort so I thought this photo of me and my fur-baby Teaco would be perfect!

Congrats to Marcy and all of the fabulous "gardeners" that get to play with her amazing designs.  Come along and find out a little bit more about each one of us.

Introducing...

With a little bit of the story of Power Poppy unveiled yesterday, today we get to share some of the "faces" that will help bring Power Poppy to full bloom! We affectionately call this fabulous and fierce team "The Bloom Brigade" because as you'll soon see - each one has a wild an beautiful facet that they bring with them to this very creative team! Want to learn a little more about this wildly talented force of artistic talent? Marcella asked each of us a question and many of them made us say... "Hmmmm...." Just click HERE to see for yourself!

Q. My idea of taking life by the horns is....

A. ....literally standing back and watching everybody else do it first!  LOL!  I am not a risk taker; never have been and never will be... period.  My idea of a good time is curled up on the couch with my son Spencer, husband Todd or my fur-babies, Marlee or Teaco, watching tv.  I’m the first person to back out of a situation I’m not comfortable with.  But all that being said, when my husband and I first starting dating, ten years ago, he somehow convinced me that learning to snowboard at 27 was a good idea!  I don’t like heights (ski lifts scare the begeezes out of me!) and I don’t like the whole concept of falling and injuring myself so having him get me to TRY this was a BIG deal for me.  It’s basically how I fell in love with him… on the ski slopes… risking my life… and I’ll never forget it.  Love will make you do strange things!!!

EDITED TO ADD:  I don't actually snowboard any more.  I converted to skis because I found them easier.  It allows me to hang out with my guys on the mountain (okay... me on the bunny hill... sigh...).  We are only an hour away from the Rockies here so we ski Lake Louise when we can.

These wonderfully dynamic women all have different "sides" to their lives! See what makes their creativity click! Learn a little more as you hop on over and see.....

One question - do you still snowboard?

Allison Cope said...

LOL... yes and no... I actually converted to skis because I found them easier! I still get to go out and enjoy the mountains that way with my boys. Thanks for asking Elaine! :)

I am with ya on the ski lifts... well the whole concept of snow and something under me other than a couch and hot cocoa in my hand. ha ha Not a big risk taker myself, but having a family is a awesome risk of your heart and soul that is very worth it all. Excited to be with you on this adventure girlie! :-)

Tee hee hee I can just picture you on the bunny hill.
I'd be right there with you but I've never even put on skis before.
Give me a warm comfy couch {or craft room} anyday.
Can't wait to see what you create.
Crafty hugs,
D~

I can so relate Ally! My husband skis too, and eventually I tried skiing once, a few years ago at Lake Louise. I went up far to quickly from the bunny hill up to the mountain. I was so out of my league. After like a couple hours it took me to get down the mountain, that was enough. I can proudly say I’ve tried it - but I’m good with not doing it again :) Good for you girl!

Oh Ally, your story made me smile!! I'd be right beside you backing out of uncomfortable situations!! As for snowboarding....well considering it never snows where I live, I'd be right beside you on the bunny hill! Hugs!!

Now see, that totally surprises me about you Ally...because you are fearless in your craft! What you can do with paper and ink is truly amazing. Superman had his kryptonite and I guess yours is a snowboard...lol! What a sweet story about your husband...yes, indeed..love does make you do strange and wonderful things! Loved reading this, Ally! :)

Wonderful story Ally! You're a brave girl...I am way to chicken to put a snowboard on my feet! What fun we are going to have!

Ally, I had to laugh! Your first sentence sums me up in a nutshell. I'm so NOT a risk taker, a stand taker, or any other kind of taker. I'm a homebody and I LOVE my PJs. I knew I'd love being on this team with you! Great write up, girl. I hung on every word!

I so get it Ally! I'm only an adventurer if I have someone to go with me. Like you, I like being at home with a good book, or spending time with my kids when they visit. What a delight to read your answer to "taking the bull by the horns"...having bulls around...I know first hand the dangers of doing just that. So, as a rule...I let others do it for me, and then say..."Good Job"....*grin*

Julie Koerber said...

Oh.... your answer had be giggling. I am TERRIFIED of chair lifts!! I haven't skiied in 2 decades and now that I live in a place with real mountains, I wonder if I could even close my eyes and be okay! LOVED reading how you "take the bull by the horns!" Now I know what you meant when you said, "Well, that's a tough question!" LOL!

First I have to say that I love your picture. I want a kitty so badly but my hubby is allergic so its a no go in this house. I don't like to take a risk either. I don't like the spotlight on me. I love those that are perfectly content to let others do that. I am so looking forward to getting to know you. Your work rocks.
