Not often I'm first being in Australia I usually come in on the tail end lol. We have had many family traditions and as the family grows, expands, moves away there are some things that are lost along the way or just become too difficult to do. But one I have always enjoyed is games, some sort of game. I have my own grown family now and because there are so many of us we celebrate Christmas eve with one lot and Christmas day with another. Christmas eve is always with my mother inlaw and brother inlaw ( who is disabled) my kids in Sydney. We have a BBQ for dinner, open presents, then we play Uno Attack which is the one game my brother inlaw and my daughter (also disabled) can play on their own. One game can go for over an hour with lots of laughter and changes of luck. We often play four or five games before everyone is ready for bed and I can wrap the next days presents. Its exhausting but I love the laughter and beauty of what happens every time we play. It makes me realise how lucky we are, woooo thats a long one for you.

Our grown children, their children and our great grandkids are invited over to our house on Christmas evening for Christmas pizza! That way everyone can visit or see their extended families on Christmas Eve and during the day on Christmas. While everyone is here, we call our son who lives in Virginia so everyone can talk to him on speaker phone. I also make all my Christmas cards, between 40 and 50
of them every year. My husband and I go to church on Christmas eve and I help our pastor serve communion. On the way home we look at all the Christmas lights.

Our family tradition is participating in the Handbell Choir that has Christmas performances in early December. We are on the homestretch this year with concerts all next week for the three of us that are playing. Such unique and gorgeous instruments.....a real privilege to play these magnificent bells.
Thanks for this wonderful giveaway! All the goodies look wonderful!!!

Our standing tradition in my family seems to watch movies. Each year we watch Charlie Brown in A Charlie Brown Christmas. We usually do a drive to see the Christmas lights and if the weather holds, we often go to church for the Christmas Eve service. I think this year our church is having a Christmas Eve Eve service to give more offerings for people to attend.

Our family tradition is going over the top with Christmas lights. We currently have about 60,000 lights on our house that are timed to music. We also have our own radio station. Thank you for the great giveaway! mslater1@!mi.rr.com

Ally, Each Christmas the whole family going to night service in the church, and when we return, the children always find presents under the tree. On this festive day relatives visit us, or vice versa, we're going to our parents, where by the holiday table we celebrate this wonderful holiday! Thank you for this giveaway

Hello Ally. This is not an old tradition but one my daughter and I started doing 3 years ago. The 2 of us get together Christmas Eve and sit around in our P.J.'s, order chinese food and watch movies on T V. I just turned 70 and she is 49 and it's just so nice to just sit around and not worry about the hustle and bustle of everything. In the morning we open our stockings then go for a walk no matter what the weather is. squeakylynn@shaw.ca

Our family tradition is to have a Polish Christmas Eve dinner: we serve the same 7 entrees that my great grandparents did when they came to the US.

As my boys are now adults and have their own family traditions, most of the things we did when they were young are also in the past. But I have started a tradition of making a Christmas ornament for my grandson every year and now I have a new grandaughter to start a collection for. When they are grown with families of their own, they will have a set of ornaments to put on their trees and remember Nana by. craftylady1952@gmail.com

For Christmas on my side of the family we get together on Christmas Eve. We have dinner and then we open our presents. After that it is off to my husbands family for Christmas. Some of us go to Midnight Mass while the rest of us stay behind to prepare breakfast. We eat breakfast around 1.00 A.M. in the morning, then we all gathering in the living room ( there is now about 38 to 40 of us ) and we open presents from youngest to oldest. Then we take pictures around the Christmas Tree. All the Grandchildren and great grandchildren, Then the Great grandparents get in with them, Then it is the original Family that started all of it, then each individual family and so on... WE are lucky if we are home by 6.00 A.M. Then we are back to his parents house for dinner by 5.00 P.M.

When we were kids, we were allowed to open one gift on the Eve. As we grew older we kept up that tradition, and now today, I am 60 and still have to open a gift on Christmas eve!!!

It was always a tradition to rotate Christmas Eve festivities at our house and the next year my aunts. Unfortunately because of our 2 families getting older we no longer do it. But every year we visit my aunt, uncle and still get to see my cousins and their kids! It's all about family !

Each year we put a crystal spider on the tree. It is an old German tale of the spiders in the house wanting to see all the beautiful things on the Christmas tree. Every place they went on the tree they left their web. The Christ child came to bless the house and He touched the webs and they all turned to sparkling, shimmering, silver and gold!

My most recent tradition is to make gingerbread houses (from scratch!!!) with each of my grandkids, starting when they are 11. I figure at that age they are old enough to hang in there for the whole process and not just gobble the candy! I'm in the middle of one with my granddaughter, finishing it tomorrow.

From susieq731@fuse.net, Hi Ally, our family tradition is when the Christmas tree is decorated, my husband & I try to beat each other to putting our Christmas card to each other in the tree. Now my son and his wife do it. Usually my husband wins. Silly, I know, we just started doing it and I guess it caught on to our married son.

We have a Christmas tradition of delivering gifts to each other on Christmas Eve and then everyone gathers at my sister in law's home for food, fun, and carolling. What is your Christmas tradition?

When my kids were little they always got a Chrismas present with pjs in it and now even when they can't all be here the grandchildren each get pjs for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Fletcher, along with other gifts from us.

It's become customary for each family to go out and search for the ugliest ornament they can find. You can't make one, you have to buy it. Then, when we all come together for our family dinner, we proudly display our ornaments on a table and vote by secret ballot. The family who's ornament gets the LEAST votes, gets to take the winning ugly ornament home and has to proudly display it on their tree because clearly, they have no "eye for ugly." This has by far, become the most anticipated event at our gathering. I've NEVER had to take the ugly one home.....what does that tell you? I know ugly when I see it.

Hi Ally, First of all thank you for the chance to win this box of winter goodies! One of our family traditions started when my girls were little. We didn't put any presents under the tree until the girls went to sleep on Christmas Eve. Then when the awoke on Christmas morning they saw all the presents under the tree and the unwrapped gifts from Santa. Even though my daughters are all grown up now we still keep this tradition. I wait for them to go to their bedrooms on Christmas Eve and then I put the our gifts under the tree. When my husband and I go to bed they go down and put their gifts under the tree. We love getting up on Christmas morning and seeing all the presents under the tree!
