Power & Spark ~ The Sky’s the Limit!

Howdy everyone!  Welcome to another fabulous, fun and creative Friday for the Bloom Brigade over at Power Poppy!  Today we have something new for all your creative people out there.  Power Poppy is beginning something new… it’s called “Power & Spark”!

Each month we’ll introduce a new designer-led challenge and you have all month long to create something fabulous to share with us AND you get a chance to WIN a Power Poppy stamp set of your choice!  Power Poppy images are not necessary to participate.  Woohoo!!

For our official challenge rules, click here!

Our first challenge is led by the super-uber talented Julie Koerber this month and it’s entitled…
THE SKY’S THE LIMIT!
Julie’s challenge is all about being inspired by all the amazing colours that the sky has to offer.  Be inspired by Julie’s photo on the Power Poppy Blog or take a photo of your own and use it for inspiration!  As the challenge implies… the sky’s the limit!  LOL!

I am super blessed to live on a little lake in Southern Alberta and we have the most amazing sunrises so I thought I share a few of my favourites with you first before getting to my card today.

My inspiration...

I was inspired by one of my latest photos from last week, the sunrise at the bottom... isn't it cool?  It has a gorgeous array of yellows, oranges, pinky-reds and gorgeous blues and that’s where the colours of my card below have evolved from.

I used the darling little budgy and tea cup image and sentiment from the new “Short Stacks” stamp collection from our newest release.

I embossed my image in detailed black embossing powder, heat set it and then used some watercolours to add colour to my image.
I added some tiny splatters to my back ground using a toothbrush using some black watercolour pigments and some white pen details to my birdy and tea cups.

Now… off you go on a little adventure through all of the Bloom Brigade blogs…

This post has the WOW factor on so many counts Ally! First of all, your sunrise photos are stunning!! Each one has the same scene, yet the colors tell a completely different story! WOW! Then there's your water colored image...LOVE how you incorporated the sunrise colors in the background, and your image is colored fantastically!! Yep....WOW!!!!

Stunning photos! Oh, how my two Goldens would love to live on your lake, but they have to do with the little creek in the woods behind the house. I just love how you used those sunset colors in your water color background wash! The little splatters really add to it, and the image looks fantastic. I simply adore this, Ally!
