Howdy Flourishes Fans! I apologize for having such a late but post but I promise, I had a good reason!
If you look to the right of the tree, at the sliding glass window, you'll see SNOW... YES... that's a snow drift at my back door! It grew even higher than this photo! Here in Southern Alberta we got hit with a massive blizzard and I lost my internet connection for close to 24 hours.
Here's a peak at my neighbours yard. The drift in front of the house is the SAME height at the garage roof. All of this snow has fallen in only 24 hours!
Here's the back of our house. The drift is almost as high as our back door!
Enough of the white stuff... on to our challenge!
This month, for each week of December, we have a new Guest Designer joining the Friends of Flourishes Team. This week our lovely hostess is Kerin Sylvestor! Welcome Kerin! Here is her challenge...
For my card today, I first die cut the beautiful Taylor-Made Classic Keyhole Die and an oval die using Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock. Before I removed my paper from the dies, I took the super cute "sweater pattern" stamp from the "Snow Day" and stamped it all over the shape using green ink. I also added a little Distress ink to age the lines. Then I cut the same die using some Classic Kraft Cardstock and I stamped the "Season's Greetings" from the "Winter Berries" stamp collection and I embossed it in white. Then I took the distressed damask stamp from the "So Distressed" stamp set and some Versamark ink and stamped right over top of the greeting for some cool faux texture!

Allison your card is so festive and I love the stitching you incorporated. I clearly need more practice, because there was no way I could get a nice straight line of stitches like that! I'm keeping it simple with zigzags for now! Also, oh my that is a lot of snow!! We get blizzards here in the Northeast too, but not usually until Jan/Feb. Good weather to stay inside & stamp :) Thanks for having me join you this week!
This card is so warm and friendly. I love the way you framed the sentiment! All that snow is amazing! Living in the South, we sometimes go years with no snow, so I showed my 9 year old the pics, thinking she'd be glad we lived somewhere warmer. Nope! She said, "Hey, let's move there!" :)

Ally! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE what you did with the So Distressed Stamp set! :) AND cutting an Oval in the Keyhole die!!! You NEVER STOP!!!!!!!! :) AND OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!! Our daughter would LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS if it happened here! OF COURSE, our son WOULDN'T if you lost the internet!!!!!!!!! LOL

Wowzer! That some snow drift Ally! I think I am good living in Tennessee.. lol! Although, we just had an ice storm with no snow so it gets cold here too. Your card is beautiful. Love the colors and warmth of it. And I love how the leaves act as the tail to your bow!
What a darling card Allison! It has such a homespun feel with your beautiful papers and gorgeous stamping! Uh, I think it's ok to be a tad late when you have been stuck in a blizzard....yeah, I read that somewhere..lol! So glad to hear you and your family are doing well! :)
