The theme of the blog hop today is FAVOURITES! We've been asked to create a card using some our favourites,,, you know our favourite techniques, stamps, papers, etc.
So some of my favourites right now when it come to creating cards include:
- embossing
- die cut shapes
- flowers
- vintage style papers
- STAMPING!
- fussy cutting
- 3D cards
- pearls
Happy Valentine's Day
supplies: stamps, Flourishes (I Love Roses, A Wreath for All Seasons, Lace Edges); cardstock, Bazzill, Gina K. Designs; die cut shapes, Spellbinder's; ink, Memento, Copic, Satmpin' Up!; embossing folder, Provocraft; pearls, Hero Arts.
So I started off by creating a platform for my central stamped rose wreath stamped from the "Wreath of All Seasons" set. I created this ornate circle of stamps to surround it. I used two of the lacy stamps from "Lace Edges". I then fussy cut the entire thing out.
Some of the close up details.
I wanted to set the whole layered creation on to some vintage feeling paper so I made my own! I used the large full rose from the "I Love Roses" stamp set to match the theme of the central mini wreath. Here's what the base panel looks like. I didn't bother stamping in the center since I knew that would be covered.
I decided to create a simple inside to my card as well. I like when the insides match the outsides. So I used the same rose stamp and coloured it in the same manner I did the vintage patterned paper I created.
The "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment is also from the "I Love Roses" set.
Here a few close ups of the front panel... I used a lot of different layers of paper and cardstock to create the end result.
I also made a point to emboss the paper I made to add a little more texture.. like it didn't have enough?... LOL!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope that you enjoyed reading about my card making process today! Make sure you stop on over at the Flourishes Blog HERE and see what other people have made to showcase their favourites today!
