Some Klic N' Kut Creations!

I have been having lots of fun getting to know how to use my Klic N'Kut machine that my hubby bought me for Christmas.

For this card, I found a fun piece of moose clip art to use as a template and made a birthday card for my Dad... he's a hunter. The detail I can cut with this machine is AMAZING!!!

For Christmas, my son got a great big fire truck from my parents. So I found a firetruck image in my clip art and cut it out (and the fun boarder) using my machine. I even got ALL the details of the ladder!

Just Use Some "New"!

Our card challenge this week for Let's Capture Our Memories card design team was by the lovely Tina was to create a card using something NEW that we had gotten during the holidays.

For my card, I used some new Bo Bunny papers and a chipboard heart from Scenic Route that I gotten. Here's my card....

Mission Create - #0007

I was thrilled when Nicole Nowosad (she's also one of my So Sketchy! Sistas) asked me to be a Guest Designer for Mission Create for December!

Every second Sunday, the designers of Mission Create post a new scrapbooking challenge. But it's just ANY challenge, these gals work 5, yes... 5 challenges into ONE! So when these gals asked me to create with them, I had to add one challenge to their already list of four challenges and here's what this week's challenge is for you...

1. Use the colour RED.
2. Use grid or ledger paper.
3. Use a masking technique.
4. Use strip journaling.
5. And I added, do some stamping!

So this is the layout I came up with using ALL FIVE of the components of the challenge.....

I completely love how this layout turned. It took me a few hours after pushing a series of different photos around the masked image until I found the images I actually used.

I used a variety of fun rub-ons by Cherry Arte and BasicGrey.

I cut out a bunch of different sized snowflakes on my Klic N'Kut machine to go on my page. I added some bling and some glittery pen dots to them as well!

I used my favourite tree masks from Tattered Angels and also some of their Glimmer Mist too to get my tree images on my back ground! I stamped a bunch of snowflake images from my favourite myStamp BOX stamp set, Let it Snow!, throughout my layout including one under my BasicGrey red bling snowflake.

Let's Capture Our Memories - Card Challenge

This week Darlene challenged the L-COM members to create a card using at least 4 different patterned papers.

For my card, I created it using my Photoshop CS3 program using the amazing Vintage Holly digital papers by Emily Giovanni from Gina K. Designs. I just love all the beautiful patterns to choose from in this set of papers.

I added a cute little digital penguin image from Angel's Landing, a pretty snowflake sticker, a shimmery red dot and some simple ribbon to finish off my card.

Lavendar & Glitter

At one of my favourite scrappy stores here (well in Alberta), Scrapbooker's Paradise in Lethbridge, I came across this 2.5 inch tape called Be Creative Tape and I saw lots of potential fun with this product.

I stamped a variety of the butterfly images from my myStamp BOX "Colorful Companions" stamp set in purple ink and then I applied the tape right over top of my entire image. I peeled the tape backing off and then applied a whole load of micro fine clear "Crystal Glitter Ritz" (Cool Highlight) over top of the sticky tape. I took my finger and pushed the glitter into all the tiny gaps and then put all the access glitter back in the bottle. It gave my entire butterfly aspect a wonderful sparkle!

An Oops!... Made Beautiful!

I have been experimenting with my new die cutting machine that Todd got me as an early Christmas present the last few days.

I designed a simple rectangular frame with loads of tiny snowflakes inside of it but I had accidentally adjusted the cutting blade on the machine and left it up too high. So it cut the image but it didn't cut it all the way through the paper!

I looked at the frame and then I saw the potential in it. So I took the frame and cut it to size on my trimmer. I then took my Ranger Distress Inks and softly laid ink all over the cut marks of the snowflakes and frame.... and since the ink caught all the cut edges of the paper, it picked up subtle ink to show off the design! A VERY cool effect from an OOPS!

So I took the inked piece and made a Christmas card from it!

I created my snowflake frame on my new Klic N'Kut machine. The software on this machine is AMAZING and I designed the whole frame, all the snowflakes included, and then cut everything out in ONE piece. I also designed my title too.... I added some Liquid Applique on it for a snowy effect and some Ranger Stickles for lots of sparkle!

Since the theme of our blog hop today is all about PARTIES, I thought why not share a few fun ideas for the next birthday party is your household.

I started with a very simple birthday invitation. I love the "Happy Birthday" greeting from the Happy Word Jumble stamp set. I created a circle mask on the front of my card and then stamped the greeting multiple times across the span of my card in orange ink. With my circle mask in place, I used my Copic airbrush and added a hint of orange colouring around my circle.

Then I took the fun little cake and multiple candles stamps from my Happy Birthday (small box) and stamped them with in my white circle. I coloured in my image and the masked off the cake and candles and the surrounding card and used my Copic airbrush with some blue ink and added colour around the cake. I then added some glittery stickles to make my icing more fun!

I love it when all the items from a birthday match! So I took my colour scheme and the stamps sets I had used on my invitations to add some fun details to all the rest of my party creations.

I took a circle of white cardstock and stamped my "Happy Birthday" greeting across it; just like my invite. I airbrush a little orange colour over the circle and then passed the circle through my die cutting machine and cut out a five. This of course could be adapted for any number or greeting! I also added some stickles to the five to make is sparkle! I backed it with a scalloped circle of blue cardstock for a fun pop of colour and to also match my colour scheme. I taped a Popsicle stick to the back of the scalloped circle and then also backed that with a matching scallop to hide my tape job.

To create the cupcake wraps, I had a fun birthday themed die cut shape that I used to cut out on my machine. I then stamped multiple cake images across the wrap, coloured them in, masked them and airbrushed the back grounds. I created a few different colours and designs and made them each slightly unique. I added to stickles once again to the icing on all the cake images to match the cupcake label and the invites.

To top off my fun birthday party creations, I created a little goodie bag wrapper. I die cut out a label shape, folded it in half and stamped on both sides using the "Happy Birthday" greeting from the Happy World Jumble stamp set again. I also added a fun "Thanks!" greeting from my Mention It! stamp set. I used it to cover up the staple I used to close the bag and add the goodie topper.
