Introducing… Countryside Bouquet Deluxe

Welcome to Day 4 of the Power Poppy release!  So far, we’ve sneaked some fruit and veggies from the Farmer’s Market, some sunny florals from the Sunny Harvest and some dazzling beauties from the Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas.  Today we’re here to showcase the amazing, “Countryside Bouquet Deluxe”…

This stamp set contains the beautiful digital bouquet we revealed last month but with much, much more!  I couldn’t help but pull out my Copic air brush and my Copic Blender pen and go mad!

My card is not just a card!  It has a little secret…

The front is a flap and is removable.  It removes to become…
… a magnetic bookmark!

My design today is using Splitcoaststampers newest sketch:, SC499: designed by moi! ~ just rotated!

Here’s how I created both of my focal images…

  1. First I masked off any areas I didn’t want any ink on; mainly the outer areas of my die cuts.
  2. Then I stamped my images using Memento “Tuxedo Black” ink.
  3. Then I loaded my Copic air brush system with my Copics; and sprayed then lightest to darkest beginning with my grey shades (T2, T4, T6, T8, T9).
  4. Then I took my Copic Blender pen and pushed all of the ink off of my flowers and stems leaving a dabbled look.
  5. Then I loaded my air brush again and applied some Y17 and YR68.
  6. I pushed off any ink from the orange hues that were on my blooms and stems using the Copic Blender pen again and voila!  I really like this unique effect!
Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you enjoy the rest of your journey with the remainder of my fellow Bloom Brigaders

Introducing… Dynamic Duo: Glads & Gerberas

Hello and welcome to Day Three of the Power Poppy release!  Marcella’s back at it again… she’s back at taking our wonderful digital images and making them into clear stamps!  Now I love digital stamps, don’t get me wrong, but I do love the feel of inking up a stamp and pressing it into the crisp colourful cardstock too!  So to all those flower and clear stamper lovers out there, we have “Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas”!

Marcella says…
Maybe you didn't get enough of these the first time around? :) :) :) We have gotten so many requests for the Instant Garden flower digis to be made into clear stamps, and the Peonies and Tulips Dynamic Duos was our top seller of the June release!! I thought we should give the folks what they want, and put these out in both formats. I've added several new sentiments in a more contemporary-looking typestyle, perfect for thank you’s and for cheering people on!

I had a ball creating this card for you today!  I found some floral, shabby chic type paper pad and just had fun layering and creating depth as I went.  I used the happy Gerbera Daisies from the “Dynamic Duo: Glads & Gerberas” and added one of the sweet sentiments from the same set.

Here’s a quick close up of my daisies…

Introducing… Sunny Harvest!

It’s Day Two of the amazing Power Poppy reveal for August.  Today brings you the warm and sunny faces of sweet sunflowers and brilliantly glowing Chinese Lantern flowers.  This stamp set is not only beautiful but you’ll want to create some gorgeous cards and projects using the beautiful sentiments too!  Introducing… “Sunny Harvest”.

I couldn’t resist stamping and colouring the amazing delicate Chinese Lantern and Bittersweet entangled image. I’ve always loved the crepe-y, see-thorough glow of the Chinese Lantern plant.

Here’s a quick close up of my image.  I added some Glossy Accents to my Bittersweet berries to make them shiny…

Introducing… Farmer’s Market!

Welcome to the first day of the Power Poppy sneak peeks for August!  The next five days are going to be filled with all kinds of stampy scents and sounds of Summer and Autumn.  Our first stamp set up is… “Farmer’s Market”.

Marcella says: “Inspired by the bounty of the local market - the freshness of our earth's gifts, the saturated colors, the rustic baskets.... I think there is something really dear about the market that creates a coziness and sense of community. Folks standing in line to pick out the perfect heirloom tomato, or the newest variety of colourful cauliflower (did you know it comes in orange and purple and bright green, not just white?) The bounty we carry home in our arms - some of us wondering..."What the heck am I going to do with all of this?" but we buy it anyway!

Doesn't Marcella’s description make your mouth water and your nose smell those imaginary Autumn fruits and veggies?  It sure does to me!

Now, let’s check out my card creation for today’s reveal…

I couldn’t resist using this amazing veggie bounty for my first card.  I swear I used at least 60 different Copics to colour and shade my image.  It was a sheer delight to colour!

I coloured my beets like they were of the Golden and Pink varieties.

I coloured my greens as if they were Swiss Chard.

I also coloured my tomatoes as if they were of the colourful heirloom varieties.  Did you know they had tomato varieties stripped like zebras?  Cool!

Nothing says delicious like colourful veggies on your plate…

StampNation Blog Hop ~ Beach Style!

Today we are kicking off the StampNation Summer Beach Vacation event with a Blog Hop. Each of the StampNation Dream Team members, along with some of our crafty friends, are hopping along sharing cards inspired by our first challenge, "Beach Style", as well as a peek at our favorite projects from the event!

Here's my card for the first challenge:
Aloha everyone!  I am totally a beach bum so the first challenge up is all about your own beach style.  I was in love with this super cute little caravan from the Avery Elle stamp collection, "Surf's Up!" from Ellen Hutson and I had spied the cutest card by Heather Campbell using the same stamp set and just had to CASE it!

I first die cut the large dotted rectangle from the Avery Elle "Dotted Die" from Ellen Hutson from white cardstock.  I stamped all of the beachy keen images using Memento black ink and then masked them off and used the chevron and paint swishes stamps to paint my back ground.  Next I used Copic Markers to colour my caravan and the Copic Blender Solution to "tie die" it's paint job!  I added some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh for that touch of sparkle!

Here's a quick close up...

Now it's time to hop along now. Make sure you leave comments at each of the blogs listed below to be eligible to win...

One of THREE one month StampNation memberships.

Plus...
$25 Pretty Pink Posh Gift Certificate

This week I chose to work with the stunningly delicate “Countryside Bouquet” digital stamp set.  I took the image, duplicated it four times and took square snippets of the image from different areas and then printed out all four squares along with the cute (and offered free… click here!) sentiment.

To play along the freedom theme, I chose to work with reds, blues and whites!

Geraniums and Gingham

There is NOTHING I love more than using a gingham patterned paper… it just thoroughly makes me smile from ear to ear.  So when I was finished creating my beautiful Geraniums panel for my card last night, I just couldn’t resist using this gorgeous green gingham from some Graphic45 Christmas papers to complete the look I wanted.  The “Geraniums” are a newly released digital stamp set from Power Poppy with the same name.

My card today was designed using the latest Card Sketch from Splitcoaststampers.   It’s my week to share a sketch and this was it… SC497;

Now, if you have never worked with digital stamps... no worries!  I have actually created a step-by-step tutorial over at StampNation just for those people just beginning to dabble in this art.  I show you exactly how I created this very card front.  I hope you’ll check it out…

An Antique Bouquet of Roses

Hi all!  Welcome to another fabulous Friday challenge over at Power Poppy!

Once again, we’re asking you to share your Power Poppy creations with the Bloom Brigade.  There is no specific challenge for this week but we do ask that you use one of our fabulous images and share your creation, including a link to this challenge, on your creation.  Simple as that!

For my card today, I thought I’d do a little experimenting.  I coloured my large bouquet from our newly released digital stamp set, “Arranging Roses” using a variety of Copic Marker colours and then I set my panel up for a little distressing.

I distressed the edges using my paper distresser, then I inked the edges with some dark blue, pumice and black Ranger Distress Inks.

Here’s a close up of my coloured image…

Blue, Gold and Vellum

Check out the latest sketch from Splitcoaststampers Card Sketch Challenge this week, SC494!  It’s a very versatile sketch by Janette that you’ll love!

And check out my card creation for her sketch…

I had so much fun creating the digital paper for my 3 panels.  I used the brand new digital stamp, “Countryside Bouquet” from Power Poppy.

I pulled the amazing bouquet of cosmos, lipstick plant and poppies into Photoshop, added some light orange colour to only the poppies (sorry it’s so hard to see that aspect!) and the changed the opacity over top a teal blue back ground.  I cut the single panel into 3 equal parts, stitching them and add some gold gilding to each panel’s edges.

Here’s a quick close up of of the gold detailing and my gold embossed sentiment from the “Azalea” stamp set, also from Power Poppy.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you’ll join us Splitcoast for this week’s awesome sketch!  Happy stamping!

A Sweet Treat for You!

It’s Wednesday and time for another challenge day over at StampNation. This week’s challenge is a delicious and delightful one!  This week’s challenge is to incorporate a fruit or vegetable into your card or project. Here’s some little sneak peeks of my fellow StampNation Dream Team members creations for this week’s creations…

My StampNation exclusive card is the one with the yellow striped paper and strawberries on it!  Yum!

With summer in full swing here in Alberta, we’re starting to see some fresh Ontario and British Columbia fruits like cherries and strawberries in the grocery stores.  I love this time of year for all these glorious fresh products.  So today I decided to honour the beautiful, sweet raspberry!

For my card I used a variety of Flourishes products here. I used the adorable “Sweet Berry Frames” stamp set for my fruit, gingham shape and also my sentiment.  For these shapes, I used the Flourishes Spellbinder’s die set, “Perfectly Pierced Classic Frames” which is designed specifically for this stamp set.  It’s got such great shapes!

I also used a fun back ground stamp from Stampin’ Up! to create my wood grain effect.  It’s called “Hardwood”.

Here’s a quick close up of the colouring and focal point of my card front…

So take a moment and check out StampNation!  You’ll love the friendly feel for sure!  If you have not had a chance to check out StampNation yet....
